I have the roscoe 9, and hit lots of red and black trails, no problem at all, I’ve actually put some 2.5 maxxis DHFs tubeless on mine and I think it roles and climbs much better than it did with 2.8s on.
@Mitch Smith I have roscoe as my first MTB bike for since September. Recently got in to more jumping and enduro/DH tracks. Started considering more grippy tires and maybe more narrow for better handling. I wonder how is the BB height and pedal strokes? Sometimes I already get pedal strokes since the cranks are 175 for my 17,5 frame. Not sure why they put so long cranks.
dzastafahrai I have the 19.5 size frame and I rarely hit my crank and pedals with 2.5 tyres on, the bike just feels so much better with s small tyre on it rolls better and I’ve found the 2.5 DHF minions are great for aggressive trails.
Was supposed to get one but it was unavailable in 2018. So I have a Timberjack by Salsa. I still love the Roscoe, but I feel the Salsa is better because it can run boost 141,148, single speed and whatever else!
sdm07120 roscoe 7 is similar to the 8 but without air shocks, it’s a very nice bike but I don’t know much about the diamond back but I personally think the roscoe 7 is a good idea but personal preference of course so don’t count the diamond back out

After a few hundred miles keep an eye on the rear hub. The free hub sounds like grinder and there is a ton of slack before engagement. I had to buy another wheel bc I could not upgrade free hub. Otherwise a terrific bike.
I just bought one....mine has Rock Shox 35 fork with thru axle (non quick release) mine has Bontrager XR3 tires same size...i have no exposed hoses/cables on the downtube...drivetrain the same....mine is matte black/orange graphics...maybe a 2020? didn't ask ...I will....have a 2016 Remedy 9 29" and wanted a hardtail 27.5" in my stable...
The 8 when it first came out was sold with the Ron's, now they're coming with maxxis Rekons. I called my LBS about this because the trek website pictures have the Schwalbe's but lists Rekons. They didn't know why the switch was made either but it's the way they're coming now.
What he means? He means that the headangle isn’t slack enough. 68 degrees is pretty steep. 66 would be a good start. You could adjust that with a longer fork, but that would steepen the seat tube angle even more, which is already at 71 degrees. Something around 73 would be good. This is more of a XC oriented trail bike. It looks really good and I almost bought one too, but now I’m in for a nukeproof scout or a dartmoor primal.
@@Marc28031984 latest model has a head angle about the same as the Santa Cruz chameleon at 67.4. So they have gone a little slacker, but not to the extent of losing the nimble feel. Seat tube angle hasn't changed though.

70% of braking comes from the front. So front rotors have more work to do and more heat to dissipate. This mounts larger front rotors than rear. Same in many other applications such as cars, motorcycles

That's not the case. Early 2019's came with Schwalbe Rocket Rons, later versions come with the Maxxis Tires. None of these come or came with Bontrager tires.

Good thing they are changing the frame so that it is different from the Excalibur for 2020. Why would you pay 1500 for a bike with quick release in the back? My buddy bought this after his diamondback hook and hates his. It weighs just 2 lbs less than my full suspension nukeproof mega. Needless to say the Roscoe has its place but it isn’t on technical trails. He is currently saving for a commencal. Do your research before going out and buying a new bike. The same spec bike as mine from trek is $2000 more than what I paid

We're talking 2 different things. Just cause your nukeproof has a "spec" similar to a Trek that is more expensive does not mean they are the same quality or have the same design performance. Hate to burst your bubble but the 2020 Roscoe and X-Cal continue with Boost 141 QR. Updated frame, but those bikes are released already so it isn't any secret!
It is boost. Boost has to do with hub offset/width. In QR it is 141mm and Thru-axle is 148mm. Just like standard spacing is 135mm qr or 142mm thru axle.
I wanted a Roscoe 8 when I got my hardtail last spring but the shop didnt have a size large and said they probably wouldnt be able to get another one til August and I wanted to start riding asap. I called all bike shops in my surrounding area, same story. So I ended up getting a norco fluid 1ht. I'm happy with my norco. The Roscoe is nice though.
I bought this bike but oh god lot of troubles first day oil coming out of fork then lock out stop working.change pads n rotors 2 times n breaks always leak oil bike is still in shop n sram is not covering the warranty on fork
What happened to the bike? Pads and rotors twice, it's Shimano they are Rock solid. The RS fork, what's the cause of the leaking? RS has a 2y warranty.

I told them twice breaks are leaking oil but they dont listen n just changed rotor n pads n give it back to me but after two ride oil went back n then dirst they start squeezing n then stop working n i called sarms they also told me shock has two years warranty but my shop is telling me they refused when i ask y they dont have answer. Also one tire wire wad broke too which i havw to pay ...

The standard dropper is 125mm but it would depend on the size of your frame for what size dropper you can upgrade to

What happened to the bike? Pads and rotors twice, it's Shimano they are Rock solid. The RS fork, what's the cause of the leaking? RS has a 2y warranty.
@@Jamesthebikeguy man actually i think who problems are becz of person who assembled my bike all. I told them twice breaks are leaking oil but they dont listen n just changed rotor n pads n give it back to me but after two ride oil went back n then dirst they start squeezing n then stop working n i called sarms they also told me shock has two years warranty but my shop is telling me they refused when i ask y they dont have answer. Also one tire wire wad broke too which i havw to pay ...
