  • Helpful tips applying for your first environmental job.
If you love the environment, science, and working outdoors the possibilities feel almost endless as to the type of jobs that you can do. Nature doesn't stop existing anywhere and neither do the jobs that involve working with it. These are tips that have been passed down to me from my employers working with federal, state, and non profit organizations over the last few years. My goal is to help other people realize their job working outdoors in the field and get paid to do what they love.

@@ecologystorymode Yeah my mother demanded I work 40+ hours a week at a retail place while searching for jobs and applying at the same time. I ended up getting let go from Target (apparently I didn't make the seasonal cut because I "Helped guests too much" and I am looking now to finally nail a tech job either within the fed or not. Thanks man. Good luck to you and stay safe out there with COVID runnin around.

What kind of positions are people looking for out here? These videos are really inspired by reddit posters and friends that make the reality of environmental jobs feel near impossible and I want to know any tips people have.

    It's interesting video.
Can I ask you a question? What do you think is it possible to find a job in this field for a foreigner?
I've been doing measurements of different environmental factors like level of noise, vibration, radiation, level of light, parameters of microclimate...for about 10 years. Are there anyone who does the same things here in the US?)

It seems difficult to find anything on places like indeed and zip recruiter or other sites with premium subscriptions, is that by design?

no, not really, it’s just learning stuff like search terms to focus on and maybe more targeted sites. I have a few videos that go over sites and search terms, my summer jobs I recently did might be pretty helpful in finding work postings more reliably (outside of just seasonal). As well as working towards finding sector/ geography/ types of agencies your looking to narrow down to a bit.
