    Hi mate, greetings from Spain! Glad that your project is coming along! I have a beefed-up MK2 G60, and it's time for it to get a new suspension set... The car is still road legal but heavily tuned towards drag / hillclimb racing, not towards stance like yours. I'd love to know how the handling is with your air kit, since I'm a tad concerned about its "softness"/stiffness when hard driving. Thanks a lot!

      Thanks dude! Love Spain went there last year
      Normal driving wise it's like the coilovers, can't say I drive it hard anyway as its still a 1.6 but I'll keep you updated
      If you get the right pressures it should handle well but going too hard or too soft is when it won't perform as well

    You should check your wheel doesn't foul on your inner arch or suspension strut if you get them re drilled because you might end up using 15mm spacers anyway.

      I'll be fine they're only 7" wide, people run much wider in the mk2 scene so I'll be all good. 5 or 10mm spacer will be sweet, 15mm ill need to run alot of stretch so id rather not . The wheels are low offset aswell so poke more to the arch

      @Project7YT fair enough, I thought they were wider. I had 9.5" 16s on the rear of my mk2 and they ran very close to the shocks.

      Yeah i wish they were wider with a lower offset but they look good. Yeah you can get some really wide wheels in the arches

    I tried an arch roller on the back of my Mk2. It doesn't really work as it's double-skinned on the back. Eventually I just cut the lip and welded the two skins together.

      I couldn't get enough angle to a smashed it with a hammer 😂 I'll probably need to weld the skins aswell

    Which brand is this air kit? Doesn’t sit very low??? Do the arches sit on top of the tyres when airred out?

    • @Project7YT
      @Project7YT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Airlift.
      Doesn't sit low? 😂😂 the front lower arm mounts sits 10mm off the floor it can't physically go any lower unless you notch the chassis which is on the to do list.
      Sorry they aren't to your standards

      Doesn’t look like it sits very low, the sill is a long way from the ground…Do any other kits on the market go lower?
      Whats next to go lower? Notching the chassis leg and then raising the subframe if it nearly touches ground?
      And tubs if the wheel is as far up as possible?

    • @Project7YT
      @Project7YT  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Feel free to complain to airlift 😂
      I have no idea I can't say I've ran every air suspension brand to compare
      No I'm not going to that extreme, chassis notch is fine to get the fronts lower and I'm happy, Those steels aren't staying

      @jshep73 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry I assumed you wanted to go as low as possible!
      Otherwise why do you have air? Just to be abit lower that coilovers and have worse ride quality?

      I believe OCD do the lowest kit (apparently)
