Not all of us have this bad experience. The joke's on you, as I identified with her character half my life ago, before the internet made me cynical. Following this video, I reminisced over FE7 through itse wiki pages, re-discovering the various characters, the dynamic relations, and the story with it's complex twists (this whole war, with humanoid creatures, and political undergoing, and assassination schemes... was just to get people killed, to get their "quintessesnse" (souls/unfinished desires?), to call over the dragons, to get THEIR quintessence, to revive one beloved dragon-waifu... incidentally almost sacrificing her 2 children by coincidence). When you hear people talking about Cersei from GoT as an exceptional character, you know they totally missed on an even more extreme woman in a more complex story (Sonya). Compare it to the shallow gacha game we have now, where the story is "the season changed", or "lets beat some random heroes who signed a contract like idiots", or "I appreciate your hard work in this game (consider me your waifu)"... When I started playing FEH, I told my brother, this isn't really a Fire Emblem game. People can call me old and bitter, but until I get a story as amazing as 7's, I consider Fire Emblem to be on the decline.
Nino was the only non lord female character from blazing sword to make it into the heroes ballot. Nino's cipher card can cost up to $80 US in amazon,not to mention she's a top tier card. Nino is a top tier green unit in heroes. Nino ALWAYS DOES HER BEST. And people ask why Nino is so popular.
Evilriku13 proof of Nino being top tier is her weapon, in combination with her SPD and ATK, which are all above average. She can hit 40 SPD with L&D 2, her ATK with L&D 2 is also around 50. Her weapon, a bladetome, is easily one of the best in the game, and Nino uses it better than most.
I atack Sonia with Nino and she almost die in the counteratack, later she almost kill Nergal alone, when i see the conversation i remember Gohan from DBZ Abridged when he is mad D:
The fun part about Nino is that since she's an EST character, you need to give her a lot of love and care to make her usable. Her sad story also makes you want to care for her. In a sense, what you feel towards her as a character and how you interract with her through gameplay is very similar.

I didn't even plan on using her but it just sort of...happened and came natural to the point I used her and Wil for the Eliwood test chapter. I think Nino was handled perfectly considering this.
In my opinion is kinda like Florina, she is so cute and shy you feel like you must protect her, and when she first joins you have to, her suports also emphazise this fact, and that is until her speed is so high she is pretty much untouchable and doubling fucking swordmasters.

@Cedric Reyes Renault tried bringing his friend back, in the end, all his efforts were for naught, Harken's first scene is him going into a suicidal rush, Ninian and Nils had the plot and backstory of FE7 happen to them, the Brendan brothers had one die with the truth and the other think the heroes killed them which lead to their death, etc. It's one of the more optimistic FE stories, but *man* does it have some depressing characters and moments

Nino's character contributes so much to Blazing Blade; psychological struggles, trust issues, haunting past, interesting relationships with others, tragic endings, satisfying accomplishments, and a couple more. I really am happy she was made when and where she was made.
10:58 I think you seem to have a misconception about Legault's intentions during their A support. The way you describe the A support tends to imply that Legault didn't want Nino to be a burden to him, but that is likely not the case. Legault is plenty shrewd and clever enough that surely the two would be able to get by one way or another. If you assess Legault's other supports, it's fairly clear that while he does generally act out of self-interest, he does have affection for the other members of the black fang, and possesses a certain wisdom from having experienced so much. As someone who has lived a live in the darkness doing shady deeds, he is likely resigned to thinking that a life of peace would likely no longer be possible for him (and it's probably true, he probably has a big target on his back as someone who has done a lot of work as an assassin). Nino, however, is young and innocent, and likely hasn't been quite so involved. It is still possible for her to escape that future and live a quiet simple life. Who in their right mind would want to wish a life of murder and death on someone with so much brightness, positivity, and potential? You skip over the very last line of the A support in which Legault says "...Nino..." as you start analyzing how depressing this support chain is, but that one line clues us into the fact that Legault does indeed care about her. If he didn't the support either would have ended right as Nino left, or he would have said something akin to "good riddance". When you put things into that perspective, it would be more accurate to say Legault is saying they CAN'T be friends after this conflict, rather than that they won't be friends anymore. I think in this particular support assessment, you fixate a bit too much on her need for acceptance and miss the bigger picture of the story that this support chain is trying to tell. Nino may want acceptance, but Legault decides that he cannot be the one to provide her that because what is best for her would be a quiet, peaceful, and happy life. It's also worth noting that in both of her A supports that have special endings, either Jaffar or Nino herself gets targeted by bounty hunters which causes the other partner to leave in pursuit of them, so Legault's prediction isn't that far off. The biggest tragedy, in fact, is that Legault's efforts to make sure Nino gets away from a life of sin still doesn't prevent those sins from catching up to her.

Why did this video make me cry? This is one of the reasons I love Fire Emblem. The characters. I already liked Nino, but you just made me love her more.
I loved Nino's supports with Jaffar since they grew so well together, and they really felt like they were meant to be. What I hated was their aweful ending. All the pain they endured to get their happy ending, and it just ends in the worst way.
Her endings all end in tragedy, or at least implied to, since Roy finds both her twin sons that turned out to be orphans. Also, I'm well aware that the comment is old but I still felt the need to comment on it, plus I like to think that Nino found happiness in the end, even if it wouldn't last forever.
Elian Rodriguez I like to think maybe Nino isn’t dead by the time of FE 6. That when she left her sons in the care of Lucius, she had every intention of coming back. That when the assassins working under orders from Hector and Matthew to hunt down Black Fang members, she fought bravely, but had to go underground. That when the war broke out, Hector was killed, and the dragons/Bern were defeated, Nino no longer had anyone hunting her. That maybe, just maybe, she found her sons again. She deserves that much.
jaffar's heroes voice is probably one of the less good ones his voice actor did alright but he sounds waaay too old his japanese voice sounds a lot younger and i don't know why they didn't do that in english

Nino’s support with Rebecca really reminds me of Neimi’s support with Amelia from FF8. The support is basically about them reminiscing about berries and pies, and bonding over the small moments like that. Sure it isn’t all too deep or serious but it’s one of my favorite supports nonetheless. Just two young, likely teenage girls caught up in something so much bigger than themselves, just trying to let things go for a minute and have a little happy, insignificant moment.

Corrin world is built around him or her while soren (tbh i always read it as sora) nino live in an actual realistic world....i mean by the law of probability "miracle" like corrin could happen but thats less likely than getting a lotter so screw that
Mathematics is pretty objective if you ask me. Her poor bases and super late join time make raising her into a good unit more hassle than it's worth if you're just trying to get through the game (you'll have to slow down your game to feed her kills and take experience away from the rest of the party, some of whom could probably still use it, not like the exp matters that much at the end of the game anyway), since you should already have units that do what she can do in Erk and Pent, Erk having a ton of time to grow and Pent having great bases. The main reason to use Nino is to explore her interesting character and give her a paired ending, hopefully.
while nino is a powerful prodigy i beg to differ since Robin is the perfect vessel for a god (the magic capacity, magic attunament, etc) should be over the top since Validar and his father failed to do so and in FE:A lore both there were strong at using dark magic. and she should be on par with Tharja since tharja since birth has been exposed to dark magic and practice it since childhood, even Noire born as a possible dark mage prodigy regardless of the father. Nino is powerful no doubt but more than them, i dont think so.

The Rape Face she actually isn't a bad unit. She easily surpasses the other two mages. My nino had enough skill and speed to evade everything from heroes to sword masters and would double them if she didn't kill them outright. Everyone's beef is you do have to train her from a nobody to a nuke.

Honestly, Nino is one of my favorite characters out of any video game. So much had happened to her at such a young age, but she managed to persevere, to become better than she ever could. If FE6/7 ever gets remade, I would love to have her return as some type of Gotoh type character at the end of FE6's story, maybe even as a replacement for Karel should different conditions be met (example, Hugh/Raigh/Lugh have a higher level than Fir/Noah/Bartre). Maybe she even comes back with Jaffar, because let's face it, Jaffar is way better than any of the thieves in FE6 simply because there were no assassins.
Scion of Belias I'd like her to return but not replacing Karel. I quite liked seeing Karel in a mellow older age as compared to how he was in Blazing Sword.
I have the same question, really. Though, if you consider a unit's affinity to be of their birth month like with Mark, then Jaffar was born in either February or November.

I can’t give Nino a paired ending because they’re all so tragic. I imagine during the events of Binding Blade she puts the twins in an orphanage and goes into hiding then reunited with them after the game ends.
Nino was popular because she's one of the most important non-Lord characters in the story with the most complex ties to the Villain Team out of the entire roster. AND (while extremely difficult to pull off) if you are willing to level grind her in the few chapters you have left before the end of the game she easily becomes the STRONGEST mage bar none. It's NUTS how good her stat growth is. You are practically guaranteed to get 3-4 stats minimum per level.
In the merlinus support Nino catches Merlinus eating a ration and then Merlinus asks her to keep it a secret and 20 years later in binding blade Merlinus gives an extra ration to Lugh (who hapoens to be her son) for apparently no reason what looks like a sweet reference

I find it funny you're going back to Fates after playing Echoes. I always loved Nino even though I never remembered much of her supports since, at the time, I didn't know about them when I played my brother's copy of FE Blazing Sword. But knowing all of this makes me love her even more. Est archetypes are always a favorite of mine, even if it's hard to get the most out of them sometimes. I would actually love to see a "Defense of Est" support science with Echoes out now. Est shares a few traits with Nino, most notably her strong desires to help, get stronger, and her devotion to her family, especially siblings. #YouCantSpellBestWithoutEst
I Couldn't Care Less If She's A *"BAD"* Unit, She's The Only Mage I'll Main In My FEVII Playthroughts & With The Exception Of The First One (Cause Erk Was Lv32 At That Point) She Was My End Game Sage & She *NEVER* Let Me Down, In Fact, In My Most Recent Run, She Ended As A Lvl35 Sage With All Stats Besides Defense Being 20 Or Higher, Max Skill, Speed *&* Magic & Even Her Defense Was Decent (Yeah, I Know, Afa's Drops & All) But That Still Doesn't Change The Fact That Nino Is Amazing, Both As A Character & Probably The Strongest Est Character So Far, When She Say She's Gonna Do Her Best... She's the only Character in FEH that I bothered to promote from silver to Gold status. This was even before I knew about her history, she was just so bubbly and cute, and fairly powerful, I adored her almost instantly. Knowing her entire story now just makes that affection all the more justified.
If there's be an Elibe comp remakes, i wish that they have interchangeable system where you can have a Blazing Blade character available for Binding Blade portion, like having Nino to finally meet with her children, or any other possible candidate like Raven and Erk (but certainly not Oswin and Lucius for obvious reasons) by loading a Clear Blazing Blade save file to the Binding Blade game.
Sauce I doubt that's even the case; The games has a history on using previous game save files for extra content (Radiant Dawn specifically). They won't be able to do it is like a ruse not to create such quality content in a single game.
I wouldn't mind a Taruneo support science from PoR, always liked his character. Ton of backstory and character growth if you really disect him as a character.

Both were loyal knights, but Bryces loyalty lies in his Knightly vows while Tauroneos lies with the People which allowed him to move forward. I think Tauroneos Battle convos are great And Could be added along side his supports. But perhaps that is still Not enough for a science
+ViewtifulBeau we have supports, battle And Info convos, backstory And Story involvment. So maybe it is enough for a Video. His recruitment chapter is also pretty significant since chapter 21 was essentialy a suicide Mission for the Daein soldiers And Tauroneo being there Shows he was ready to throw his life away

Considering how god awful they have made FE game mechanics and stories there is nothing but bad in store for all the characters. Evasion and crit are fundamental and necessary stats for low base damage low defense low hp classes like Nino's. You can't just remove them while leaving the rest of the low stats low. But they did and the FE games were ruined because of it.
Blazing Blade has the best, most cohesive cast of characters in the entire Fire Emblem franchise. I've never had so much pleasure in reading every support non-stop in a Fire Emblem game than this one.

Legault is plenty shrewd and clever enough that surely the two would be able to get by one way or another. If you assess Legault's other supports, it's fairly clear that while he does generally act out of self-interest, he does have affection for the other members of the black fang, and possesses a certain wisdom from having experienced so much.
As someone who has lived a live in the darkness doing shady deeds, he is likely resigned to thinking that a life of peace would likely no longer be possible for him (and it's probably true, he probably has a big target on his back as someone who has done a lot of work as an assassin). Nino, however, is young and innocent, and likely hasn't been quite so involved. It is still possible for her to escape that future and live a quiet simple life. Who in their right mind would want to wish a life of murder and death on someone with so much brightness, positivity, and potential? You skip over the very last line of the A support in which Legault says "...Nino..." as you start analyzing how depressing this support chain is, but that one line clues us into the fact that Legault does indeed care about her. If he didn't the support either would have ended right as Nino left, or he would have said something akin to "good riddance". When you put things into that perspective, it would be more accurate to say Legault is saying they CAN'T be friends after this conflict, rather than that they won't be friends anymore. I think in this particular support assessment, you fixate a bit too much on her need for acceptance and miss the bigger picture of the story that this support chain is trying to tell. Nino may want acceptance, but Legault decides that he cannot be the one to provide her that because what is best for her would be a quiet, peaceful, and happy life.
It's also worth noting that in both of her A supports that have special endings, either Jaffar or Nino herself gets targeted by bounty hunters which causes the other partner to leave in pursuit of them, so Legault's prediction isn't that far off. The biggest tragedy, in fact, is that Legault's efforts to make sure Nino gets away from a life of sin still doesn't prevent those sins from catching up to her.

I loved Nino's supports with Jaffar since they grew so well together, and they really felt like they were meant to be. What I hated was their aweful ending. All the pain they endured to get their happy ending, and it just ends in the worst way.
Her endings all end in tragedy, or at least implied to, since Roy finds both her twin sons that turned out to be orphans.
Also, I'm well aware that the comment is old but I still felt the need to comment on it, plus I like to think that Nino found happiness in the end, even if it wouldn't last forever.
Elian Rodriguez I like to think maybe Nino isn’t dead by the time of FE 6.
That when she left her sons in the care of Lucius, she had every intention of coming back.
That when the assassins working under orders from Hector and Matthew to hunt down Black Fang members, she fought bravely, but had to go underground.
That when the war broke out, Hector was killed, and the dragons/Bern were defeated, Nino no longer had anyone hunting her. That maybe, just maybe, she found her sons again.
She deserves that much.
Jaffar's shady reputation wouldn't allow them to live happily ever after.
So, makes sense.

Nino’s support with Rebecca really reminds me of Neimi’s support with Amelia from FF8. The support is basically about them reminiscing about berries and pies, and bonding over the small moments like that. Sure it isn’t all too deep or serious but it’s one of my favorite supports nonetheless. Just two young, likely teenage girls caught up in something so much bigger than themselves, just trying to let things go for a minute and have a little happy, insignificant moment.

Yay, my favorite character from FE7 and one of my overall favorites. It's funny how Soren and Nino have similar back stories yet turned out so differently.

Mathematics is pretty objective if you ask me. Her poor bases and super late join time make raising her into a good unit more hassle than it's worth if you're just trying to get through the game (you'll have to slow down your game to feed her kills and take experience away from the rest of the party, some of whom could probably still use it, not like the exp matters that much at the end of the game anyway), since you should already have units that do what she can do in Erk and Pent, Erk having a ton of time to grow and Pent having great bases. The main reason to use Nino is to explore her interesting character and give her a paired ending, hopefully.

while nino is a powerful prodigy i beg to differ since Robin is the perfect vessel for a god (the magic capacity, magic attunament, etc) should be over the top since Validar and his father failed to do so and in FE:A lore both there were strong at using dark magic.
and she should be on par with Tharja since tharja since birth has been exposed to dark magic and practice it since childhood, even Noire born as a possible dark mage prodigy regardless of the father.

I liked Nino a lot, which makes playing The Binding Blade much sadder when you realize that she died at a young age and couldn't be there to raise Lugh and Raigh.
It’s never stated that she dies, in both of her paired endings she just disappears, either looking for Jaffar or running from assassins

There are a few reason I dislike the constitution stat and am glad it’s gone and hopefully never coming back. Ruining Nino is one of those reasons.
The Rape Face she actually isn't a bad unit. She easily surpasses the other two mages. My nino had enough skill and speed to evade everything from heroes to sword masters and would double them if she didn't kill them outright. Everyone's beef is you do have to train her from a nobody to a nuke.

Honestly, Nino is one of my favorite characters out of any video game. So much had happened to her at such a young age, but she managed to persevere, to become better than she ever could. If FE6/7 ever gets remade, I would love to have her return as some type of Gotoh type character at the end of FE6's story, maybe even as a replacement for Karel should different conditions be met (example, Hugh/Raigh/Lugh have a higher level than Fir/Noah/Bartre). Maybe she even comes back with Jaffar, because let's face it, Jaffar is way better than any of the thieves in FE6 simply because there were no assassins.
Scion of Belias I'd like her to return but not replacing Karel. I quite liked seeing Karel in a mellow older age as compared to how he was in Blazing Sword.

I have the same question, really. Though, if you consider a unit's affinity to be of their birth month like with Mark, then Jaffar was born in either February or November.
Jaffar is supposed to be 3 years older than nino. nino is 14 so Jaffar is about 17 in fe7.

Nino was popular because she's one of the most important non-Lord characters in the story with the most complex ties to the Villain Team out of the entire roster.
AND (while extremely difficult to pull off) if you are willing to level grind her in the few chapters you have left before the end of the game she easily becomes the STRONGEST mage bar none. It's NUTS how good her stat growth is. You are practically guaranteed to get 3-4 stats minimum per level.

The tragedy of the Black Fang. Nino and Jaffar. Linus and Lloyd. Brendan, Uhai and Legault. Those were the best things in FE7, and it's nice to see someone show appreciation for Nino. I hope you explore another one of these characters again someday.

I find it funny you're going back to Fates after playing Echoes. I always loved Nino even though I never remembered much of her supports since, at the time, I didn't know about them when I played my brother's copy of FE Blazing Sword. But knowing all of this makes me love her even more. Est archetypes are always a favorite of mine, even if it's hard to get the most out of them sometimes. I would actually love to see a "Defense of Est" support science with Echoes out now. Est shares a few traits with Nino, most notably her strong desires to help, get stronger, and her devotion to her family, especially siblings.

She's the only Character in FEH that I bothered to promote from silver to Gold status. This was even before I knew about her history, she was just so bubbly and cute, and fairly powerful, I adored her almost instantly. Knowing her entire story now just makes that affection all the more justified.
If there's be an Elibe comp remakes, i wish that they have interchangeable system where you can have a Blazing Blade character available for Binding Blade portion, like having Nino to finally meet with her children, or any other possible candidate like Raven and Erk (but certainly not Oswin and Lucius for obvious reasons) by loading a Clear Blazing Blade save file to the Binding Blade game.
Well that would take alot of work for something that people might not even see. It's a great idea though.

The games has a history on using previous game save files for extra content (Radiant Dawn specifically). They won't be able to do it is like a ruse not to create such quality content in a single game.

+Lord Dio! You can however explore his relationship with Bryce And how similair, Yet Different they are. Both were loyal knights, but Bryces loyalty lies in his Knightly vows while Tauroneos lies with the People which allowed him to move forward. I think Tauroneos Battle convos are great And Could be added along side his supports. But perhaps that is still Not enough for a science
Extra Hachse Him trying to help Micky rebuild Daien and him doing a certain thing in Part 3 in Radiant Dawn is worth mentioning too

His recruitment chapter is also pretty significant since chapter 21 was essentialy a suicide Mission for the Daein soldiers And Tauroneo being there Shows he was ready to throw his life away

Evasion and crit are fundamental and necessary stats for low base damage low defense low hp classes like Nino's. You can't just remove them while leaving the rest of the low stats low. But they did and the FE games were ruined because of it.

Blazing Blade has the best, most cohesive cast of characters in the entire Fire Emblem franchise. I've never had so much pleasure in reading every support non-stop in a Fire Emblem game than this one.
