- Today’s Fire Emblem Three Houses video focuses on 10 trivia or occurrences the player may or may not have seen or experienced, or even realized it themselves when it happened. Those who are incredibly knowledgeable of the games quirkier bits ought to recognize most of these. But some are so random and obscure that even I wasn’t aware of some of them. Its a pretty short and casual video today. Anyway, if any of these tidbits are those you never knew yourself, comment down below which ones they were. And if you know some random 3H trivia that ends up not mentioned here, let us know down below.

I only knew the viskam once you described it since the wiki mentions it as a sword and the name just clicked as you described its range
The White Dragon Scarf does not need any of those requirements. All you need to do is rescue Flayn the first week of the month. I am looking at my Scarf right now on as the Black Eagles right before we lay siege of Garreg Mach. I am told you can do it on other routes as well and that birthday does not matter. However, I always make Byleth's birthday his actual birthday (9/20) and thus it is skipped every time. I receive the Scarf as soon as the next chapter begins.

Maybe it was worded vaguely but that is exactly what i said. Its the first and easiest way to get it. The 2nd method is if you wanted one but didn't get one through Flayn. Its just another way to get it, not a prerequisite to get one. But perhaps the 2nd method needs more testing. eh

Okay, yeah, Seteth not following you after you get his daughter killed and then disappear for 5 years makes sense.
When you put it that way it makes perfect sense.
I looked at it, and he just balks about Rhea’s order to see Byleth as her replacement specifically. I also thought I read something about the support with him making up for it, but unsure if that does anything at all.

The white dragon scarf is also available if byleth’s birthday is right before you pick a house, this will give you the scarf and if your birthday happens twice in the story then you can get both a white dragon scarf and any of the other 3.

@@Lynn17 it’s what I always did, I discovered it for myself when I learned that you get an item dependent on your house for byleths borthday so I wondered what would happen if you didn’t have a house.

I wish enemies in the game had fuller inventories, not much reason to get the steal skill when 99% of enemies don't have stealables.
If you have the Anna quests you can steal extra trade secrets from some side battles. This allows you to finish the quests and thus get the rewards faster.
I wish enemies could use weapons like
Silver bow+
Silver sword+
Or any of the weapons that are forged
(They should of given enemies forged weapons in maddening)
There are actually loads of good stealables in the game. Magic staff on chapter 6, the rings and seals on the grondor map, the above stat boosters. You just have to keep an eye out for them. Not to mention you can just slot out the steal skill whenever you don't see any, you don't have to keep it equipped.
It is one aspect of the game which show that its developpement was a bit rushed. There is also a lack of special weapons on regular enemies like the ones dealing extra damages on mounted or armored units, making using the skills that prevent such weaknesses kinda worthless.
If Three Houses had two or three extra months of developpement, the game wouldn't feel as "cheap" in some areas.
Now that Fire Emblem has become such a big name for Nintendo, I wish they would give Intelligent System more time and budget to let them reach the serie's true potential.
@@trebmal587 Ironically one of the things I'm noticing on my first playthrough of Cindered Shadows: there are a LOT of Cavalry with Horseslayer spears to the point it feels like the only enemies that use spears all carry Horseslayer. Cindered Shadows has a huge problem with overcrowded maps and BUSTED assassin class enemies, but I really enjoyed the addition of Horseslayer enemies even though we only have one single character that is able to reclass into cavalry movement type
My favourite random thing that ever happened on a playthrough was a counseling note that stated the character was sad that they couldn't be a pegasus knight and that turned out to be written by Hubert XD.
"Despite my appearance, I have long wished to be a Pegasus Knight that I may indulge in the lofty view. Yet that dream has always seemed out of reach. Can you guess why?"

One random piece of trivia is if you recruited hilda pre-timeskip on blue lions, then in azure moon on the map where hilda defends claude she's actually replaced with a female warmaster
Found that too. I believe it’s the one mission you have to help Claude to defend alliance capital. So females can be WM after all, but certainly not Hilda, She will remain a brigand unless you recruit her.
I've always wondered if that was just a glitch. The class says "War Master," but it just shows a basic myrmidon sprite.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the tathlum bow. It's a relic bow linked with mercedes's crest that appears on an enemy that only spawns in if you step on a specific tile in the reclaiming the capital maps

Isn't the Tathlum Bow locked into the BL route? I've never seen it otherwise, and I've played all the routes.

On the chapter you rescue flayn the the death knight you can see her and monika lying in the ground behind the death knight. It’s easier to see in the really zoomed in mode

You can get a ton~ at this point all hackers know about the viskam so pretty much any hacker who can sell viskam, does sell viskam
On my first play through, I got the scarf for jumping right to the Flayn rescue mission. I missed out Dorothea’s birthday and two weeks of training. Not worth
It's worth noting that the Viskam seems to be a magic weapon, at least from my experience. I've been using it a lot to grind class XP on characters without having to worry about durability, and have noticed that Res-heavy enemies always take two or more rounds to kill, even when I double. The user also loses attack power when using a battalion that lowers magic attack.
My record is five.
I've got 7 of them on my current playthrough. I'll pick them up whenever I see them and if I'll send the traveler out with any after two for the rest of my playthrough so others can use it. The game is so grindy that frankly I think it's good for players who are trying to get a bunch of abilities or mastery-driven builds faster to actually play them without hundreds of hours.
I didn't know the scarf was that oddly specific. I actually feel lucky to even have it on my first playthrough of the game
Not sure if this is a Secret or not but in part 1 if you spend enough time roaming around the monastery it gets dark outside. Dont ask how I figured this out.

If I recall correctly, it happens a while after you’ve used all of your activity points for the day.
I was always too afraid to stick around that long! the sun would start to set and I thought oh no they're trying to kick me out
@@alexisocasio6739 yup, its related to activity points. I used to spend hours on roaming and would sometimes leave my switch unnattended for 10+ minutes but it never got dark because I always left at least one activity point until the end. Yesterday I switched it around and did all my activities first and roamed around searching for overworld items last, and was very surprised to see the sunset!! I'm actually sad I missed this earlier, I definitely think that the transition into dusk is too pretty a thing for most players to miss. They should have coded it so when we have one activity point left the sun starts to set, and on zero activity points it becomes night, or smth.
Would certainly make the hours we waste roaming around Garreg Mach for those Lost Items more entertaining with a change in scenary. I also am very mad that they didn't introduce seasonal variances like the trees and flowers changing over the months, or snowing in winter
Fun Fact: The Prayer Ring's secret effect also works on *enemies* holding them. Just found that out in Ingrid's Paralogue on Maddening.

One thing that I noticed on my 2nd playthrough of Azure Moon is that if you don't have a support rank with Seteth when the cutscene that kicks off the chapter of the battle of Garreg Mach rolls around, he actually refuses Rhea's request to have him help Byleth on their quest in the scene where he & Flayn promise to fight alongside them. It doesn't change anything, Seteth still joins your party, there's just a bit more of a demoralizing scene with him & Rhea. Not sure if that was known, but it did surprise me when I came across it.
I found this out by chance, but during tea time, using the one of the two most expensive teas triggers unique dialogue and will treat the tea as if it was their favorite.
Which teas are the most expensive?

@@dhisufiroafrozenseraphimdragon You get it from the Dark Merchant's stand after you complete the "Clearing the Way" quest from Hubert, Gilbert, Hilda, or Seteth during the war phase and it will cost you 3,000g a bag, which is actually more than any other item in the game including the master seals.

It has been 2 years after its release and it's wild to think people are still finding more stuff about the game.
On an unrelated note, I was not prepared for the Hipster Edelgard from the thumbnail.
That prayer ring application, my gosh. I had Petra use one on Hard Difficulty and Solon went after her; landing a blow that would have left her at like -11 HP. Nope. Petra survives, then buries two arrows in the Savior of None.
I had *no idea* it did that until watching this video. Petra didn't learn Miracle from an Adjutant or (shudder) mastering the Priest class, she was saved by her own gear!
Wow, I had no idea the White Dragon Scarf even existed. That's wild, but it totally makes sense in hindsight.
My favorite obscure Three Houses trivia is that ALL items that ALL of your units have in their inventories will go back to full durability once the timeskip hits, on any route.
I always stack my units' pockets with broken and damaged items on Chapter 12 for the mass free repair on Chapter 13. Always worth it.
Especially ones that require rare elements to repair, like the relics or sacred weapons
It's for this reason that I like to go all-out on chapter 12 using all my strongest weapons and combat arts.
I hope one of this days they just drop an alt of any 3 Houses character in Heroes using the Viskam sword

Viskam really was a busted secret I was never supposed to buy? In my Blue Lion run, I found and bought 7 of those things.
Edit: If you find one early game, *GIVE IT TO LYSITHEA.* She will become your ultimate mortar, and combined with Thyrsus, she can win you the game by herself.
The flayn thing happened to me once because she fell at the last turn of a survive map and the game didnt allow me to turn back time and i really didnt want to do that again.

I thought it was some DLC item from late game. You have no idea how *BUSTED* Lysithea becomes when paired with a Viskam.
I know that at least a few supports actually affects another support conversation, for example Sylvain and Marianne's B support has Marianne comment about Sylvain teaching her to smile more in her A support with Ashe, which I have seen myself and is the only reason I even knew to look up different ones.
I've heard that it happens with Ingrid's B support with Dorothea if you've done Annette's supports with her and if you view Felix and Mercedes C support after Mercedes' paralogue but I have yet to see video or screenshots of either of those. But I have seen a screenshot that if you do not have Ingrid, Sylvain and Felix's B support adds an extra line and changes Sylvain's expression
It's hard to find any record on any of most of these and unless you know exactly what to look up, all you can do to find them is Ctrl+F with "(if" to find variations on literally every character/support wiki page, or getting super lucky with random testing, so I'd say that's pretty obscure lol
Although I don't have evidence of it, nor do I have my copy of 3H currently, I can confirm that Ingrid's B with Dorothea does change. When Dorothea makes a remark about makeup, Ingrid says something along the lines of "Annette's been helping me with makeup".
I also found out about Felix support with bernie. If you see Felix’s A support with lysithea before his A+ support with bernie, his line changes when bernie offers him a candy

Edelgard not letting you attend her coronation if you don't have enough support points is a big point in the CF speedrun. Nothing like having a good time, talking to her, and realizing you never got the support points with her and so your great run is dead :(

I came real close to getting that white dragon scarf on my first playthrough then. I hopped right into the mission, but I used a different birthday. Also, that Viskem glitch is hilarious!
i really enjoyed some of the background visuals; seeing flayn using gauntlets was hilarious to me
Regarding SS deployment slots: Because you lose out on that slot, combined with how Seteth doesn't function like the other 3 Lords (he'll still be a major character but he's susceptible to permadeath), Silver Snow is the only route where you can genuinely solo as Byleth, and only Byleth. In turn, it's the one route where you won't be able to teach, take units out for meals, sing in the choir, etc etc. Generics will replace dead students in cutscenes on the other routes, but SS's case is the most damning because of that loss of a slot.
Regarding Support Point losses: The three Lords all share one instance of the same dialogue where Byleth can lose a Support point with them, and it's telling them that you forgot about the Battle of the Eagle and Lion (mock version). Meanwhile, Edelgard has the most instances, by a country mile, where you can lose Support points through dialogue. Claude has two instances, and Dimitri only has ONE. Rhea also has several, but they're restricted to her Supports (she does have two in the main story, however). You can also lose a couple with Seteth, but only on Silver Snow.
Regarding Hegemony: The title of hegemon is pretty liberally applied to Edelgard in the Japanese version...two major examples are her personal battallion (the Supreme Armor Co., which was originally the Hegemony Armor Co.) and the title of her theme on the OST (Localized as "The Leader's Path," it was originally "The Hegemon's Path.")

There is at least one other instance of difficulty changing the script that I can think of. During the first end of month event of the story, in the very first mock battle where you can only field half of your house to fight the other two houses, Hanneman and Manuela will NOT join the battle in Normal difficulty but will join it in Hard (and I assume Maddening).
I know this because I played my first two runs on Normal and was kind of upset that the other teachers said they'd "go easy on me because I'm new" (their dialogue reasoning for not joining the battle). This week I started my first Hard run and was VERY pleasently surprised to see Hanneman and Manuela take to the field.

Same. I noticed his animation was a bit weird when starting the map but he doesn't say anything. I wish they would patch that in but IS is probably done with 3H's at this point

The Edelgard interaction happened to me when I first went Black Eagles and was confused when I didn't seem to get a choice between CF and SS.
I knew the Prayer Ring had Miracle built cause the description will say that “it might just the dying user” or something along the lines of that. But I always prefer using the Goddess Ring cause the chances of Miracle activating is just not worth equipping but it’s always to heal some HP back with it.
Miracle came in clutch for me on AM reunion at dawn maddening because I was basically banking on the off chance that Mercedes would proc miracle ether from her skill or the prayer ring and it worked and which was good because I was out of divine pulse
I just beat my Blue Lions maddening run, and managed to steal the stat boosters on the paralogue. Giving Ashe defiant speed as well as using rally skills was essential to steal from war masters though.
The thing is that if you want to go with Byleth’s canon birthday, I’m pretty sure your house trinklet is skipped if you enter the mission, since afterwards it uses the next calendar. Talk about choices.
The only one I didn't know about was the Scythe hints, but I'm surprised you omitted the Essar Research group battalion received from doing four 4 man recon missions online. Very few people seem to even be aware of it's existence let alone how it's obtained, I feel like that would've been more interesting trivia than the statboosters in the lord paralogues.

@@Faerghast Off the top of my head theres two things that comes to mind.
This first one I saw rengor1997 mention somewhere
At a certain point, the lords + hubert will get their personal battalions when rejoining the party. For Edelgard and Hubert on CF, they receive theirs at the start of ch 12, for Dimitri and Claude, they receive theirs at the start of ch 13.
The game will autolevel their auth rank to C to ensure they can equip it, but due to an oversight this also can potentially cost you auth rank exp.
If the character in question has a C or higher auth rank and any progress towards their next auth rank, they will lose that progress and be reset back to the base of their current rank.
So for example:
Dimitri has D+ rank auth at the end of ch12, the game will then autolevel his auth to C so he can come with his battalion equipped, thats working as intended.
Other scenario:
Dimitri ends ch 12 with A rank auth and has made progress towards A+,
Since he is above C rank he doesn't need any autoleveling to his auth, however he will be stripped of all progress he made towards A+ and will be back at the base value of A, and that can really suck if you're especially close to the next rank only to lose it.
The other thing that comes to mind is that the pegasi in chapter 7 have their AI programmed to prioritize Byleth over all other targets, just like Kostas in prologue. This is VERY useful knowledge to have on maddening as it allows you to put other units in their range with impunity while Byleth draws aggro.
I'm not sure if this applies to Ingrid because I always ask her for mission assistance that month to ensure I don't have to deal with her as an enemy unit if shes not recruited. I’ve recently revisited Claude’s paralogue and I completed forgot the stat boosters, I was already half way through the map when I realized and my Yuri didn’t have Steal equipped. 🙃🙃🙃

I remember getting the scarf because I picked silver snow and set my Birthday to my actual March birthday
What was new to me: "New Stat Boosters", Seteth Refusing to Join, and SS -1 Unit. I didn't know that Seteth and Flayn had special dialogue in Enbarr though, I thought it was just for the Opra. And I knew about the Vistum since a friend found it while we were doing a Challenge Run
I recently discovered a obscure FETH trivia: discussions before and after Gilbert and Annette's paralogue change depending on their support. I made it with them at C-rank and A-rank and the dialogues weren't the same

I got the scythe by suprise on a random playthrough when I decided on a whim to train Capsar for it. I never actually used him, I just scummed exhaustive strike till it OHKOd the Death Knight.
One thing I learned the hard way, was that if you playing church of Seiros route, but killed all the black eagle students the only unit that you will have access besides Byleth in Chapter 13 is Seteth. Having to do that map with only 2 units is insanely hard.

@@rchaelk2319 basically I didn't let them get any experience in the first few levels, then I just send them in to get killed by enemy troops.
They don't actually die, but you can bring them into any battles, or do monastery things with them.
I knew a lot of these, except the detail about the Viskam, Edelgard's dialogue and the White Dragon Scarf, mainly because of seeing Delthea not get killed while holding a prayer ring during my Echoes playthrough. I still don't use Prayer Rings though.
Years later, I’m still learning more about this game
I got a viskam and thought i had somehow cheated the game and my byleth held onto it for fear that if I transferred it, then it would fix itself and the durability would come back so I kept it on her for many chapters before buying another one online and realizing that it was broken from the beginning so I try to use it sparingly to deal with troublesome units.
I got a viskam on my maddening run, I tried beating hunting by daybreak with it, I sniped pallardo with claude and then finished him off with viskam

I think you are good. I used viskam in many of my 3h play throughs and my files were never corrupted. So i think you are safe and good to go.
Mine hasn't yet and I've had it for a while before finishing that run.

Towards the end of my first playthrough, I thought to myself "I have an unbreakable sword that does hella damage and could attack several spaces away... where the hell did I get this?" I guess at some point I accidentally bought the Viskam and I felt a little too OP.

I watched this after the follow-up, and I’m surprised, because I actually knew *less* about the trivia in this than the trivia in that. The only one I completely knew about was the Dragon Scarf, which I think I actually got in my first playthrough, because I did Silver Snow, and my habit of checking the entire monastery on the first day of each month meant that I would’ve had to actively ignore the obvious plot thread to do anything else that month. I rushed to rescue Flayn, and all I got was this nifty scarf. I also knew that you could get the Scythe of Sariel, but I haven’t played that specific paralogue quite yet, so I didn’t know about the removal of dialogue on hard and maddening difficulties, which is honestly kinda BS.

I thought the title was gonna be clickbait but legit the only ones I knew were the Prayer Ring and Enbarr ones.
I figured out the Prayer Ring one in game when my Ingrid survived with "Miracle" even though she didn't have the skill at all, I searched up if it was related to the ring and learned about the japanese name and all. How weird that they wouldn't just name it "Miracle Ring".
I don't recall if it happened on maddening or not but I do play on classic so that small surprise saved me a divine pulse ^^
6:11 I wonder if they did this because they knew using him to defeat the DK on harder difficulty is very difficult, esp. if you haven't been prepping him for it/using Caspar, and didn't want the player feeling obligated to do something they couldn't realistically pull off.
I imagine Viskam's description would be sorta like this:"A sword shrouded in mystery and legend, nobody knows where it really came from. Didn’t knew about Seteth not joining and the Siege of Embarr trivia, and I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to Fe3h trivia as I scoured the internet for secrets and hidden things multiple times after my 1st play trough.
Makes sense I didn’t knew about those secrets, though, as I never use Church character, always stick with the students.
Funny enough I actually have the viskam on my current (first maddening) golden deer playthrough immediately have it to Byleth. Sad to see that it will leave me by endgame. Though I'm gonna sell it on the final chapter for the next person to get the legendary weapon.
I'm Proud to say the only one I didn't know about the enbar map secret. So go me.
I KNEW something was up with the Viskam! Never realized that 1 gold opaf weapon that carried me hard through the first playthrough was a hacked item, I just thought it was an end game item that was bugged in the sales due to never being considered for the online systems
Hi I was wondering if you be willing to do a video on silver snow vs crimson flower. Since these routes are so closely linked an analysis on them would be great to hear about your perspective on these routes. One of the things I love about these route are that the black eagles have crests that only belong to the saints it's a cool parallel that the saints of old are doing battle against a thing of your their own making.
Pretty sure you can also get the white dragon scarf on silver snow route. My birthdays in April and I got it after it skipped that month

I was aware of most things in some way aside from the white dragon scarf though.
If it is post time skip when you receive it though, how does Rhea give it to you? Or would it be if Flayn dies?
Also I only recently came across the Viskam when on my Maddening route.
Presumably Flayn gives it to you since in Silver Snow, both her and Seteth have plot armor so even if you get them killed in combat they'll still be hanging around until the route ends since they essentially take over the role of the lord for it. This is why it's only possible to miss out on Seteth in Verdant Wind and Azure Moon too.
I always thought getting the white dragons scarf was a weird event. Especially since I only got it on some playthroughs but didn’t change anything. I also love seeing the secreta behind the viskam
I got the Viskam. I thought it was cursed and got rid of it. And I was wondering why Shamir survived a lethal hit (she had a prayer ring). It was bothering me so much, thanks for the explanation.

I ended up with two Viskam on my last play through with the Eagles. I actually thought I had unlock it or something after beating the game with Blue, Yellow and White (DLC). Lol

I knew about Edelgard not vibing with you (I completely ignored her and Hubert while preparing for SS but talked at that point cause I was curious), and I knew about the Viskam, but all the others were new :o
It seems I only knew as much as you. I actually got a Viskam on my first playthrough (didn’t use it cause it was cheap, though). And the Enbarr invasion stuff was a no brainer, since you have all the time in the world to do it.
I remember stumbling upon the Opera Co Volunteers battalion by accident on my 3rd playthrough. I randomly decided to have Manuella wait on that tile because she had nothing else to do, and there was some dialog! One of the most fun Battalions, esp in NG+ where you can chain dancer battalions (and Stride) to clear maps in 1 turn =D

If you combine nosferatu and lethality procs, you still get the health return effect. Its a funny gamble on monster type units.

Actually didn't know very many of these. I did my Maddening Run NG+ off'd my first clear of game for Blue LIons but I went Crimson Flower... pain! Coulda been more painful I guess... Then I did a hard mode play of Golden Deer. Then a Silver Snow.
Then I did a new game non-plus maddening play of Blue Lions, got my gold title screen, and haven't bothered with the game since. A lot of these are things I never would have even wondered about, so thanks for the info!

The White Dragon Scarf does not need any of those requirements. All you need to do is rescue Flayn the first week of the month. I am looking at my Scarf right now on as the Black Eagles right before we lay siege of Garreg Mach. I am told you can do it on other routes as well and that birthday does not matter. However, I always make Byleth's birthday his actual birthday (9/20) and thus it is skipped every time. I receive the Scarf as soon as the next chapter begins.

I just started golden deer route for my 6th playthrough. Mayb I can use some of these
6th playthrough? Damn man! Are you playing consecutively or do you take breaks in between? I did AM->CF->SS->VW (yes I know stupid order), and only picked it up again to play the DLC. I keep wanting to do another AM run but with the Wolves now coming along but I really burnt myself out.

In Silver Snow, I believe that if you modify a Classic Mode save to make any of the Empire students not recruited (not dead), I believe they show up in the same spots as enemy units where they would in the Golden Deer route. The same thing happens with Felix and Annette having potential enemy spawns in the Blue Lions route, which is more well-known.

Because of my birthday, and love for the character of Flayn, I always got only the white dragon scarf until my last run, where I got the brooch from Dimitri
The only ones I knew were the lesser deployment slots in Silver Snow and the Enbarr secrets. How interesting!
