Thanks for shining a light on these pegasus knights! That's always been my favorite class, if largely for aesthetic reasons. I never knew the supports went this deep in FE7, clearly I haven't played it enough (usually when I go for GBA FE, I just replay FE8). Hearing about the relationships between these sisters and some of the other units was a delight.
Imagine disregarding a code of conduct you plan to Introduce to your army just so you and your crush can get it on. You were right. That really *is* a legendary support.
Fiora is one of my favorite FE characters in general. Her survivor's guilt puts a rather insidious twist on the generic "honor-bound uptight knight" trope. Plus she's super pretty. ...Plus the first time I used her, she was insanely RNG blessed.
Florina has always been my favorite, mostly because I love making the tiny, shy girl into a powerhouse which she inevitably becomes by the end of the game (if you use her right).
Just finished a play through after I came back to the game, decided to watch some old Ghast vids for nostalgia’s sake and yea, she’s INSANELY strong if you put in the work.
Thank heaven Fire Emblem made supports easier to get as the series went on. When I played this game I did use some of these characters and I knew basically none of this!
What's funny is that many people probably like Farina but just aren't aware. I say this because she shares a LOT with what would become Anna's post-Awakening characterization. Overbearing focus on money, check. Smart, playful and independent but a bit manipulative, check. Sisters are a big theme, check. Hidden behind a paywall... yeah Farina did that one better, 'tis the times we live in I'm afraid. I like Farina more myself. Her sisters being actual persons rather than clones of herself helps round out her character, and her gimmick and existence are justified in-universe, while Anna's entire character basically gets her own set of rules instead. Then again, a lot of people like that as well.
As someone who is a big fan of FE7, it's always cool to see a video that shows me even more interesting aspects of characters that I already like. Illia seems really interesting as a concept of a country, wish we could see more.
Awesome video, man. Ironically, I always like using florina in my playthroughs because she joins early and she ends up really good mid to late game xD. Also, nice detail including "dance in the skies" on the video
Awesome video Ghast. I actually like this style of “support science lite” condensing your always excellent analysis into a shorter video. I’m also a sucker for FE7. Fiora was always my favorite when I was a kid because I thought she was the hottest girl in the game
Only in Fire Emblem can three sisters have completely different hair and eye colors. Joke aside this was a great video. Drummed up some serious FE7 nostalgia.
@@johnathanedwards9054 Well, now that you grasp one of the main mythological motifs at play, notice how the Pegasus Sister Trios are the only siblings in Fire Emblem lore who have diverse hair and eye colors... (While out two trios from Ilya are particularly pronounced)
@@MogofWar Yeah and I knew a girl back in my high school days who was half Asian half African-American and she had a brother, they looked nothing a like but the paternity tests all came back positive that they had the same father. To give you an idea what I mean, she looked African-American and her brother looked Asian (her mother was Asian and her father was African-American) with barely any of either coming through on either of them. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see the pictures she had on her phone and met her family at a basketball game.
Honestly, Farina is probably my favorite FE7 chatacter- no, she's probably one of my favorite characters of ALL fire emblem. I just love her so much, she's just so imperfect and yet perfect in my eyes. I love her lore and her personality, and she is always one of my strongest units when I played her. I probably wouldn't play Hector's route so much if she wasn't there, even though i like a lot Hector too. Farina supremacy, Farina is life, Farina is love. Oh and yeah Florina and Fiora are good too I guess
I'm laughing so hard at the Fiora/Kent commentary Favourite is a tie b/w Florina and Fiora. I find Florina really endearing, I'm a sucker for the dutiful female knight trope (also a big Ingrid fan, go figure lmao), and in my experience at least, both quickly become really good in combat and then stellar (including on hard mode; actually, the growth feels faster to me on Hard for some reason). Except in the final chapter. But by then I guess Canas and Hector pull enough weight to do the job themselves.
man your character analysis videos on fe7 really make me look at this cast in such a new light and I realize there's so many cool details and character bits about them that make them really endearing. Keep up the good work ghast
This was really interesting to me, because I’ve been a fan of the pegasus sisters (Florina especially) since the game first came out. I know their supports inside and out, so hearing that some people dismiss them out-of-hand was a bit of a surprise. Still, it was good to see all of this condensed into one video, and to have the reminder that, while each one may seem pretty simple on the surface, they all have depths that come out via supports.
My favorite of the three has to be Fiora. I don't really know why, I guess I just like the more uptight pegasus knights, also, Fiora joins at a point that you are likely to be done bringing other units up to scratch and are looking for a new "project" to feed kills to. Also, to be honest, it's probably because she's rather pretty.
I really love these three. Not only are they my favorite characters of FE7, but killing the Fire Dragon with Regal Blade Florina was one of the most satisfying things I've ever done in an FE game. (And of course she's my favorite)
I never finished a FE in my life because I was always bad at SRPG. Well, technically not bad, but more or less not my cup of tea and I feel like I'm falling asleep in the middle of combat. Thanks to you I learned so much about FE characters and their lore. All of this story, writing, and dialogue out of one game and summarized so beautifully in one video (or many). These videos may be 4 to 5 years old when it comes to support science, but they always enlighten me on well written characters, and I always come back to them to hear about them. Always wondering why other games don't have this much content behind a character or group and surviving the test of time. I have watched your support science videos multiple times and if I can ever have time after work and college, I would like to properly play a FE game myself and watch it unravel. I played a lot of games in my time, but I can't imagine any characters as well written and thought out as any FE character.
So I’m hearing there’s party drunk sister, a sister arguably more greedy than Anna, and a sister down bad for a hot piece of Kent-ass (like the rest of us). Blazing sword just grew on me a lot after this video
I love some of Florina's supports. From the implications of Florins cutting loose at festivals in Fariana's support to the story of her waiting and praying at an ice dragon shrine in Ninian's support. But Fiora would still have to be my favorite, both in game play and characterization.
Pegasus knights may not be the best at fighting but boy do they have some amazing waifus. There’s always at least one bombshell among them in every game
Congrats on the sponsorship, Ghast! I’ve been a Florina fan since I first played FE7, as the first peg I ever really trained up, but I’m a massive sucker for that boring old dutiful knight archetype, and Fiora has really grown on me since then.
As a shy nerdy girl, I always related to Florina and she’s been one of my favorite characters ever since. But I could always see parts of myself in all three of the sisters. Florina was how I presented myself in public, but Farina was my desire to just fuck around and see what happened, and Fiora was my passion and dedication to my chosen life path. Also, like Florina, I drank as a teen and would get super fucked up like, immediately, and was much more fun. I’ve always felt a special connection to these characters, I think that said a lot about me as a young teen. Thanks for the insightful video!
I've never done the supports between the Sisters before...so I didn't know about Florina getting drunk off her ass at festivals and being a big party drunk.
Something worth noting is that Farina gets scared more easily than Florina. In chapter Victory or Death, everybody has a different reaction when speaking to Sophia. Everyone gets scared but calms down immediately, except for Farina and Serra, who keep yelling “Aaaaahh!!” throughout the entire dialogue (until Sophia gives them the Talisman, which they respond by saying “Aaaaahh-Huh? You want to give me something?”)
I think Fiora is my favourite of the 3. Also really surprised that Pent was her employer! It's like there'll never not be anything new to learn about these games!
The idea that there's one Calvary brigade but that they are essentially just the Ilia salt truck brigade is pretty funny. Like imagine one of those guys interacting with Xain and Kent. Abreviated to I.C for Illian Calvaryman Kyle "you must be really good to be the commander of the Ilian Calvary division perhaps you can share some strategies for winter combat? I.C. No I really think someone else could do a much better job. Kent nonsense quit being so modest we can meet later and discuss it. Kent So I understand what you are saying about proper snow removal but how do we engage the enemy? I.C. I have no idea.
To be honest, I've only played FE7 once, I only played Lyn Mode and Eliwood Mode and benched both Florina and Fiora, so it was a nice treat to see insight to characters I didn't get to see, though I didn't do the same for FE6 though as I got to use Shanna a lot, so I look forward to the FE6 Pegasi trio video.
Florina sounds a lot like Olivia from Awakening in terms of their fear of men. I keep wondering if any of these three gave birth to Juno, Thea and Shanna from Binding Blade, but something tells me that Juno would have been a very young child and Thea probably was just born or close to being born when Blazing Sword took place. The haircolour of Thea and Shanna matches with Fiora but I could be reading too much into it.
You know, I clicked on this video not realizing it was Blazing specifically. I was expecting two games of frozen waifus. Oh well, maybe we'll hear Faerghast dive into Shanna and co. another day.
i've always been a florina fan from the moment i played fe7, her relationship with hector really intrigued me. i know im in the minority by that, but whatever. i liked how you talked about her here, and yeah i think fiora gets a bad rap for being "boring" when she genuinely has some really good support convos
Yesssss I’ve been eating g/supporting this! I’m about to do/ upload some Pokémon amd fire emblem content, let’s go! GBA fire emblem is my favorite. Love your content sir!
Even though I really love these Pegs, that was mostly for gameplay reasons since all three were really strong the two times I used all three. Learning about their characters here was a big eye opening but it makes it harder to decide which one I like the most since all of them have such great moments in their supports and they all show development in their supports too which is great.
This was also my first FE game. I definitely gravitated towards Fiora more at that time. I think I have more appreciation for Florina as time has gone on. I still wonder why I'm saving the gold for Farina on every playthrough xD
For whatever reason i am not even sure if this was an idea I had in the past or more recently but I always thought that Florian and will could have interactions. Imagine them connecting and will aiding florina to help her deal with men and archers. And if they ever did get married them having a daughter archer Pegasus rider. Or even the borderline impossible miracle of a situation where in order to save their lives have florina ride will on her Pegasus’s back while he covers them with arrows from above.
the FE7 Illian trio are definitely my favourite group of pegasus sisters in the series, and Fiora's straight up in my Top 3 overall favourite characters so i'm pretty happy to see this! You did a really good job of "de-tropifying" the 3 of them here, with how easily their outward personalities fall into stereotypes a lot of people don't give them a second thought (i'm honestly guilty of this, i considered Farina as just Morden Anna on a pegasus for the longest time) even though they've got some really great supports. while i think the FE6 sisters have the best relationships with one another, the FE7 Trio are great at going beyond just being sisters and having their own personalities seperate form being part of the trio.
playing radiant dawn rn, l hate the supoport system. l may not be all over supports, but having none is just plain bad. thats why l really enjoy the support science vids atm
Yaaaaay the pegasisters! Actually funny random note. I have summoned Fiora six times in FEH. I have never once pulled for her, she just keeps showing up XD.
Knowing Ilian cavalry had such an awful reputation makes it that much more awesome that Zelot is able to unify all the orders of knights into a kingdom... and he did it while having to work with Trec too! EDIT: Then I just remembered Wallace's ending, where he somehow starts an at least slightly successful farm in Ilia. Maybe Lycians are just built different.
Am I getting Mandela effected here? I remember the Kent and Fiora A Support differently. I thought it mentioned Fiora waking up next to Kent the morning before or something.
Florina was my favorite unit when I first played Fire emblem. I would just give her an angelic robe and then had her be a monster. Even though I didn't really care much about Fiora, used her sometimes because of Florina, and Farina was hillarous. And let's not forget Hector and pegasus knights as a whole. Florina is da queen.
Fiora is my favorite of the three. I really relate more to her and Kent being the oldest and one who has to watch over others all the time. Fiora x Kent is definitely my favorite ending for the sisters.
the reason i has an issue with the gba's limited support system is that you miss a lot of characterization. sure, it incentivizes replays, but a major of players don't consume fe like that. rather than see the full breathe and range units have, people are only left with a fragmentary look at who they are, making the only consent in discussion their archetype.
the gba games have the best mourning ludo-narrative (with units getting better together, losing that strength on death, and building new relationships), but still there had to be a better way
Farina is my wife and Florina and Fiora are my sisters-in-law through her. Farina is a wonderful wife and mother to our children together. Canon. Period.
@@chromxrobinandcorrinxcamil9031 Maybe but I don't have time to comb through all of TH-cam's massive amount of accounts looking for them. Also I am a simple person: Isee a fellow Chrom x Robin shipper, I hit the thumbs-up button.
C'mon, Florina was memetically awesome in Blazing Sword, especially if you got the Uber Spear and gave it to her. She was my only flier in Eliwood mode, and I supported her with Hector for shits and giggles.
As I see it, paying 20k for Farina is a good deal. If pegasus knights are supposed to be paid by the battle, this means that her single payment is far cheaper in the long term than paying her 4k every battle until the game ends. But I really enjoyed seeing Farina's vulnerable side in her A support with Hector.
The one mainline game in which all of the Pegasus Knights are good and show up reasonably early is also the one Fire Emblem that least needs you to superkill a boss with a Triangle Attack. Typical.
At least sain doesn't take all three of them Among his harem the only illian waifu was fiora though it would be interesting if he had farina since they are both blunt And fun fact kent gets both fiora and farina 😂 A major FU to sain 😂

My favorite fliers in fe7! I like Florina first followed by Fiora and finally Farina.
playing radiant dawn rn, l hate the supoport system. l may not be all over supports, but having none is just plain bad. thats why l really enjoy the support science vids atm
My favorite Pegasus sister is Farina, but I do like all three of them for different reasons (Farina's decisive edge is her capability in combat).
Yaaaaay the pegasisters! Actually funny random note. I have summoned Fiora six times in FEH. I have never once pulled for her, she just keeps showing up XD.
Now I want to see flora get drunk. That sounds hilarious.
Maybe Lycians are just built different.
there vids are awesome i love them
really hoping someday Lucius gets all the recognition he deserves...
The Ilia sisters are my favorite trio of pegasus knights and I train all them for endgame. Totally worth the payoff.
Shame Ninja Festival Florina didn't get Forged Bonds.
the reason i has an issue with the gba's limited support system is that you miss a lot of characterization. sure, it incentivizes replays, but a major of players don't consume fe like that. rather than see the full breathe and range units have, people are only left with a fragmentary look at who they are, making the only consent in discussion their archetype.
the gba games have the best mourning ludo-narrative (with units getting better together, losing that strength on death, and building new relationships), but still there had to be a better way
My favorite sister was always Farina, but learning that Florina's a closet party animal might just be enough to make it a tie.
I suggest for the next analysis of Fire Emblem characters should be Donnel. From plowing fields to pound enemies to dust...😂😂😂
real ❄ Ilia ❄ hours
Do you have any plans to do Shanna, Thea, and Juno? That’d be awesome
pls make more support sciences
As a die hard Farina fan, I approve.
Notable inhabitance of Ilia he means Trec right guys, right?
Florina Is best girl and one of my favorite characters in the series
Farina is my wife and Florina and Fiora are my sisters-in-law through her. Farina is a wonderful wife and mother to our children together. Canon. Period.
I think you have the longest name I have ever seen on TH-cam.
@@johnathanedwards9054 Eh, there’s probably longer names out there.
@@chromxrobinandcorrinxcamil9031 Maybe but I don't have time to comb through all of TH-cam's massive amount of accounts looking for them. Also I am a simple person: Isee a fellow Chrom x Robin shipper, I hit the thumbs-up button.
@@johnathanedwards9054 So glad you see the truth.
i love farina and florina
Fiora is best girl
Huzzah, a man of quality!
true
Hey, sorry to be the one asking that question, but does someone know the name of the theme of the outro ?
Fiora remains my favorite FE character in general.
@5:12 WTF. lmao
I never knew she was built like that.e
I like to pair Kent with Farina and Sain with Fiora.
The thing that makes all pegasus knights great waifus is that based on their artwork, especially in feh, going commando seems to be a requirement.
C'mon, Florina was memetically awesome in Blazing Sword, especially if you got the Uber Spear and gave it to her. She was my only flier in Eliwood mode, and I supported her with Hector for shits and giggles.
LOL today I learned that Fiora is the eldest sister
Fiora and Kent are a great pair! Hahaha
Fiora 🛐
As I see it, paying 20k for Farina is a good deal. If pegasus knights are supposed to be paid by the battle, this means that her single payment is far cheaper in the long term than paying her 4k every battle until the game ends.
But I really enjoyed seeing Farina's vulnerable side in her A support with Hector.
The one mainline game in which all of the Pegasus Knights are good and show up reasonably early is also the one Fire Emblem that least needs you to superkill a boss with a Triangle Attack. Typical.
It's a shame something like 80% of the fanarts of these three are just Florina with Lyn.
Trec and Yuno support is good.
At least sain doesn't take all three of them
Among his harem the only illian waifu was fiora though it would be interesting if he had farina since they are both blunt
And fun fact kent gets both fiora and farina 😂
A major FU to sain 😂
Wait, if Fiora is OLDER THAN FARINA, then why does Farina JOIN AT A HIGHER LEVEL THAN HER? That makes no god damn sense!
Age =/= skill
Join time. Last thing I wanna have is another unit to escort around and feed kills because she is weak. I don't want another Sophia situation.
