- The court saw Catherine 'Cathi' Bedy's take the stand today.
Witness testimony continued in a $200 million lawsuit against Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital that was featured in the Netflix documentary ‘Take Care of Maya’. In 2016, at just 10 years old, Maya Kowalski was admitted to Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital for severe pain and was removed from the custody of her parents after staff accused them of "medical abuse." Her mother, Beata Kowalski, hung herself in her garage on Jan. 7, 2016 after going months without seeing her due to the medical abuse allegations, according to the family's attorney, Greg Anderson.

Mine breaks for my son. Cincinnati Childrens is putting us through the same thing. My son is traumatized. Hes isolated. His health is declining. These people are dangerous because they cant be wrong and know they have immunity. This is by no means an isolated case.

I just got done watching Maya’s testimony. This woman Cathi is so sick. She was kissing Maya, putting her on her lap, stroking her hair, getting close to her face, telling her she was going to be Maya’s mother and so forth. She purposefully brought Maya to the chapel to do these things. The only place where there are no camera’s. Also she was watching when Maya’s clothing were being changed, so she could see her naked. And she wanted to photograph Maya naked, when Maya begged and pleaded with her not to she was allowed to keep her bra and shorts on. But the photos Cathi took were never entered into the hospital computer, so what was the purpose of these photos? It seems like Cathi just wanted these photos for herself. Also she kept Maya’s favorite dress. I honestly believe this woman has some sick and inappropriate infatuation with Maya.

She is probably involved with a sick paedophile ring. Social Services are dodgy as hell. Not saying ALL people that work for social services are like this, I know some good social workers, but its definitely responsible for A LOT of children being sold into trafficking etc. I am SO praying that she gets criminally prosecuted for this

When the second set of pictures were taken, she recalls pretty confidently that there was not any holding down and screaming, but she does not recall who was with her, whose hand it was on the picture. I hope nobody believes her lies.

I have never once heard a child ASK to sit in someone's lap. They either just crawl over, or an adult invites them/pulls them in. I do not believe her testimony at all about Maya asking to sit in her lap. She's lying through her teeth.

The hospital treated this little girl terribly. I don’t believe Maya ever used foul language with cuss words at 9 years old given the upbringing from her mom & dad. It doesn’t fit. If they let Maya go home for Christmas her job would be less intensive. This team with Sally Smith made this case unusually difficult and Bedy was a stern facilitator. And no phone so a 9 year old could not call her Mom is cruel. ACH ripped this little girl from her mother to BE IN possible FOSTER CARE! UNBELIEVABLE! It took her mothers suicide to get this girl released for home! Her mother WAS BEING DENIED her daughter on the ASSUMPTIONS of Sally Smith w/o a full work up. THIS WHOLE case is appalling.

Sounded to me like she was directed by DCF and her supervisor the majority of the time. Control was in the hands of the court. Not sure what testimony you were listening to.
Social workers often have train wrecks for personal lives. This is what leads them to social work. THEN, they are handed all kinds of power by courts and the medical system they work for.. When in reality, they can't 'fix' jack squat. By the time a dysfunctional family is in a hospital, the patterns of 'dysfunction ' are ingrained in the group. Social workers meddle and create upset in the 'system' of the family, often creating more problems than they solve. I'm a hospice RN, and know 1st hand. They are trainwrecks of people w a 'I will save everyone!' Complex.

The jurors understood the assignment and got it right thank God, they came back with a verdict on everything. The money won't bring Beata back or heal the bleeding hearts of this family. They're trying to paint this monster as a guardian angel to Maya but to the contrary, she manipulated the hospital and staff for her own sick and depraved desires in Maya' case . I hope that John Hopkins All Children's Hospital is packing up their files and having them transferred to a much better facility a facility that monitors their patients and cares about them. Ms BEDY Beds must be held accountable for all that she did that affected this family. Thanks for the jury who saw through this smoke scree. We lost custody of our 8 & 1 year olds after taking our 8yo Daughter to the Hospital when an employee of a resort used a Key Card to enter our Airbnb, Drug, Abduct & Sexually Assault her! They've been abused in Foster Care & 2 States neglected to take either to the hospital, after the abuse, until we threw a fit & showed pictures in court of the bruises, & our 8yo had a Broken Arm for 12 Days in their Custody!!!
They took my children for Medical "Neglect" due to me waiting a few hours while the detective found a car seat for my 1yo so we could go to the Hospital! The Effing irony!!! 🤦♀️😢😭😭

Last wk, her Attorney mentioned in an outside interview that Maya had a flare-up. This why she has not been attending, and her family was not present for a few days, as well.
Considering the fact, Maya fears seeing Bedy ever again and suffers PTSD, I think the courts felt it would be in the best interest for Maya not to see bad Bedy.

RN for 40 years here. I suggest Miss Bedy prompted the MD to ask for pictures of Maya. I would be surprised if he initiated that request. I would request documentation and interview that MD. I also didn’t see the push request, maybe missed but priming the infusion is not pushing the drug. Two different actions
So sad Mother Beata was driven to suicide. She could not take anymore. Not seeing her daughter for so long must have tipped her over the edge., Cathi Bedy telling dad he should divorce her is outrageous.

When CPS / CPI sticks their nose where it doesn't belong they not only tear apart a family it also causes the child to be in worse shape than ever! From my experience that's my view of them as having my own experience with them! They are the ones that should be sued in this situation!
Why would they just be randomly taking pictures of a child that seems not right to me. Especially when their parents aren't allowed to see them and these people don't know what they're doing. This was so sad. I hope the people that did what they did are now no longer practicing
@@babs3652In Maya’s testimony she said that there was a nurse named Alicia that was there undressing her against her will and holding her down during the photo shoot. Cathi and Alicia were there. I don’t know what Alicia looks like but I guess it’s her hand in the photo.

@@MissSpaz Someone taking their life is entirely their own doing, and it's a slippery slope to try and place that blame elsewhere. But, if you HAVE to place the blame on another, the judge was the one she mentioned in her suicide note. Tangentially, if Maya hadn't been taken, I truly believe she would be dead instead right now.
I was amazed at the difference in appearance and attitude in this witness between deposition and trial . She transformed from “ Professional “ confident , at times looking over the top of her half glasses with a condescending school marm in charge type to a slightly fuzzy warm benign “ grandma “ look with the big glasses the polka dot dress and pearls , and the I was just a small cog in the wheel version . I guess it was at the direction of the attorneys to make her look more family “ Friendly “ for the jury , but I found it a little deceptive and creepy like she was wearing a disguise.
I couldn’t even listen to Maya’s phone calls with her mom. My heart breaks so much for them. I hope God is giving mayas mom peace in heaven after seeing the results of this case.

I still don't understand why a child in pain in the hospital was kept away from her loving mother father and family? and by the people assigned to protect children. It saddens me when they explain ever so technically their doubts about Maya's level of pain, no love or compassion just very cold, in other words, they think she is lying but never say those exact words. Maya would have felt scared and alone. Cathi sure talks about policies and procedures a lot for someone that doesn't follow them.
After Maya went home,she got fired.! She went to work with disabled children and almost chocked a boy to death.She throw him on the floor,she was chocking him while her coworker was holding the boy down for her.Another coworker called police and she got fired again.....But still she is working with children.!!!She had a case of child abuse but still was allowed to accuse a innocent mother of child abuse.!!!! NICE SYSTEM.....PARENTS STAY AWAY FROM THAT HOSPITAL.!!!! IT'S OBVIOUS THEY ARE GETTING PAY FOR THOSE CASES.!!!!
