    Let this be a lesson to the broken, dyfunctional, arrogant, ignorant, chaotic, fascist American Healthcare System. Everyone is sick of it. Kudos to the Kowalski family for fighting this horrific crime against them. May it start a movement to take our healthcare back.

      Well said these Hospitals are Prisons and Institutions that harm. They constantly call children services just because they don’t like a parent. They act like prison guards. It’s about time for these institutions to fall. And only the good ones remain! Europeans are much healthier and have a lower infant mortality rate and give less vaccines and no chemicals in their food. EXPOSE THE SCAM!! DRUG COMPANIES IN ON IT TOO!

      Not to mention he was there when they found their mothers body. You can hear his tiny voice in the 911 call calking out for his mom. It BROKE my heart, shattered.

    I know people hear these numbers being read aloud and hear “x million dollars” and feel a sense of relief for this family. NO DOLLAR AMOUNT will save these people from the future they see in front of them. There was. No reaction when the monetary amounts were revealed. It was the words they read before revealing the number. That we see them fall apart. And they will do that again and again and again. This money doesn’t provide anything except a target on their backs. Yes, they’ll be able to think about the life they could have had surrounded by money, but they lost their mother/wife. No dollar amount can repair.

    • @lorraine.-.
      @lorraine.-. 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed!! They have been fighting for the “yes’s” - every one of them was the justice they fought so hard for. I hope this provides them a modicum of comfort. This family will be healing for a lifetime.

      And what is even worse is the judge who decreased the award the family received. What good is a jury if a judge ultimately decides how much they get?

    I think it’s sicking that the hospital will do an appeal, how sick and twisted, I pray for this beautiful family. For their serious loss, for the eternal rest of their mother and wife’s soul. I pray that they find community and live within the Catholic Church and that they can move forward, and honour their mother’s memory, through their will to live as beautiful children of God. It’s honestly scary that a hospital can do this. The government and hospitals and schools have way too much power. We need small government

      If you’re talking about a courtroom, from my experience children are usually asked to testify in front of a jury unless they are too young to be trusted to give an accurate statement
      Btw I’m 16 now and I’ve testified in court numerous times for child endangerment, false imprisonment, and related cases in the last 5 years. It’s unfortunate but sometimes that’s just how it is, and it’s usually because the jury wants to everyone’s side of the story before deciding on a verdict

    How can anyone respond to this. I just stumbled on a previous interview when I read that there was a Netflix documentary about this family and their lives, which I watched, so shocked, as I work for ACS, or children's services in NYC. In the many years I have worked with children and their families, only on 1 occasion did I remove a child, and that because the child did not belong to the family but was left with them to watch "for an hour" which turned into 3 days and the family did not have the means to buy the things a 13 month old would need, like diapers....so I had to call the police and city social services who arrived, along with the mother, who claimed she "fell asleep", though she had a crack pipe sticking out of her pocket...and she was taken away, too, but to a different location. To see the stats in that county, I believe double the state average of children being removed from parental protection, I was stunned. To continue and see how they treated the late mother, who behaved like any other other trying to save her child, and see her family break down and finally, give up in that the mother committed suicide, was and is tragic. The way the case was manipulated in Florida courts, refusing a jury trial for years as the young lady had to try to remain as healthy as possible, the son try to grow up and the husband who only had memories to look back on, is sickening and it brings me joy to see the hospital, department of children's affairs, the doctor assigned to the young girl when she was forced to remain in hospital but the mother refused entry...? Joyous. No amount of money will ever restore the presence of a parent or the psychological scars left on that family, but at least they have the means to get all the help they will need in the future. Shame on Florida and Johns Hopkins!

    After everything this family has been put through, I am so glad they have had justice for what they've been put through. Luckily they had a very strong mother and wife, who fought for her daughters care and documented/recorded everything but unfortunately the hospital, doctors and health care system took this as a threat and turned on her. I hope a lot more families now take further action with they're local authorities/hospitals, health care. They lie, they charge unbelievable amounts of money and they need to be accountable!! And I really hope the hospital, doctors etc in this case are not allowed to appeal this discussion, after what they have put this family through. God bless you Kowalski family

For the husband having to be put in a position of standing down and not supporting his wife JUST so he could see his child. For maya who literally was tortured and for the son oh my goodness in the 911 the uncle was stopping him for going into the garage. They broke each and everyone in this family individually and together. I know they would give all that money back just to have their mom. I pray they find peace and I pray their mom and wife is wrapped in the arms of God 🙏🏽🤍

    In defense of the doctors, CRPS is extremely rare.
    Quite frankly, I was wondering why the parents only took her to an immunologist? Maya clearly had very high tone in her lower extremities, why wasn't that evaluated? She could have had a number of differential diagnoses. To simply "give her ketamine" because she received them in Mexico certainly doesn't mean any other doctor should just follow it.
    I would be much more weary of ANY doctor who jumped immediately to medication without lining up the symptoms//specifically the high tone in her legs. CRPS , if it is found, usually affects the UE more. And it is very rare in kids.
    But to accuse parents of abuse, of course, was wrong.
