He had filed for divorce from the wife he brought up in 2019 though. He died before it could be made official

Rip Larry King. You gave up that sham marriage in 2019, but never could make the divorce official. Norman should take a hint before it's too late.

Close your eyes. Now imagine not hearing, feeling, tasting anything. Forever. Oh, add in your inability to even experience this. There you go. Any other questions?

I’m sorry but Normal Lear gives us two minutes of pure BS here.
First he says that you might think “I can’t wait to find out what happens” in the minutes before you die. Yeah, I’m sure the late stage Alzheimer’s patient, or the person with lung cancer drowning in their own fluids is going to have such happy thoughts moments before they die. Or maybe even the guy in sheer panic having a heart attack.
He also says he is “utterly content not knowing”. He’s openly embracing ignorance because deep down it’s obvious that he really thinks there is nothing after death. Rather than accept this he lies to himself about “not knowing” and pretending that he’s happy with this.
His point about human suffering being ok because he apparently sees people smiling in photos was meaningless drivel that was irrelevant to the question asked.
The worst part was when he then completely avoided Larry’s question about what he thinks happens and started going on about what his wife believes. Why exactly does he love her “utter faith”? Having blind, illogical faith is not something to be admired or celebrated. It’s wilful ignorance and should be challenged, as Larry alludes to.
This was a wholly dissatisfying answer from an elderly man who is scared of nothingness after death but has gaslighted himself into believe that he’s fine with it.
