The age when you don't give an F and say anything you want and not worrying what people might say back to you. This is how our times have become, so many labels, sensitive *"sheeps"*, etc. True Freedom of expression/speech is now very silent (if that makes sense), it's alarming and sad at the same time.
P.S. I'm still 23 by the way.
Larry articulates the same issues I struggle with. While I am still willing to believe that there is something "out there", I don't know what to "do" with that belief.
Why hang on to the belief at all? Is it out of fear? Bertrand Russel said, either the thing is true or it's not and if we can't tell if it is true then you should reserve judgment. This makes a lot of sense. If we believed everything that is possible to be true without evidence we wouldn't have an understanding of reality.
I go one step further and claim that all false beliefs can be dangerous so why hold a believe if you don't have evidence for the belief.

larry was truly a legend, and regarding the whole free will conversation. people tend to say “if there’s a God then why would he allow bad things to happen” it’s completely understandable why people ask that i’ve even done it in the past until doing more research and studying the bible more. God gave us free will to do what we want, when we want and how we want. he loved us so much that he didn’t want us to feel obligated to love him back so he released all control on earth and gave free will to us. with that being said sometimes things may happen that are tragic and unfortunate so it’s easy to blame God but he no longer is in control over the things of the earth. he gave us free will to show us how much he loves us and how much he cares for us.
A puppet is free as long as he loves his strings. There is no free will. It’s just an illusion.
The only things I disagree with is when you said "he released all control" and "he is no longer in control over the things of the earth". He has ALWAYS been in control of EVERYTHING, yes even our "will". Our will does not supercede God's authority.
In fact, we are only able to do the things that we do because God allows us to even breathe to carry out our actions.
It comes down to the Will of the Father. There are two sides: Righteous and Rebellious. Even if we choose to rebel with our so called free will, everything in our rebellion will be used to His glory to highlight WHY He is Just.
Say a school gets attacked and multiple children get shot, inflicting numerous deaths and injuries. This only happens because God allowed it. From here, many would label God as evil for allowing "innocent children to get harmed" right? But who are we to say who is innocent? In fact, we are all descendents of Adam, right? We all belong to ancestors, right? Reading the Bible tells us that there are curses passed on through generations right? The person who attacked the school should be a reminder of why we serve God and why we look forward to His promises because He PROMISED us that such things WON'T happen in His Kingdom. This earth is not His kingdom brother.
Larry got his answers, but he didn't accept them. We as servants are not to question God. Period. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction" (Proverbs 1:7). Legends can be fools too, clearly. I hope that Larry found God and repented before his time expired because the lake is punishment that I wouldn't wish on my worst of enemies. Peace to you brother.

There is a lot to recommend this belief system if people would just think for themselves and not believe something just because it is taught in their culture. Buddhism seems a lot more loving than the idea of sinners in the hands of a vengeful god of the Judeo-Christian or Islamic Scriptures.
So sad to hear him say that! I prayed for him while he was alive and hoping someone would share the Gospel. Maybe 2 or 3 pastors gave him the absolute Truth about sin , God’s Holiness and repentance thru JESUS CHRIST which is the only one that can forgive if we truly repent , believe and surrender to JESUS. For sure Dr. Bob Jones 3rd, John McCarther and another gentleman can’t remember his name shared the Gospel with him. Hopefully on his death bed he seeked JESUS it’s my desire and surely the Good LORD’s even more so.🙏🙏
Keep your beliefs to yourself. It is fine to believe in god, but the idea that you need to keep telling other people about your belief and trying to convert them is gross. Your beliefs are personal. Your beliefs are for yourself. Respect other people enough to leave them alone and not try to convert them.
People don't necessarily want to know what you believe and don't necessarily agree with you at all. Respect that. Just because you believe it does not mean you know better. Respect other people enough to respect their opinion on this matter, even if they disagree with you. Everything else is extremely patronizing. Your beliefs if for yourself. Keep it that way. People don't necessarily want your opinion just because they disagree with you.

I am jewish myself and started to question my faith for couple of weeks now...Really do not know what to think after hearing Dr. Dawkins, Hitchens, Dr. Sacks, Dr.Craig and now Mr. King.
Ask yourself how many different religions there are and how people of the same religion can't even agree about them. If god was real he would have a better way of communicating than a ancient book. A book we don't have any original copies of and have no idea what it may have originally said. It's just a way of controlling people and making money.

@@Gegagrega I went to Church every week for 16 years and also did some evening clubs. I know the position you are in and I understand that religion is a comfort and gives you community.
Ask yourself why you believed/believe it? Was it the country you were born in or the religion of your parents? Was it a personal experience that can likely be attributed to something else?
Once you accept that only one religion can be true, but that they can all be wrong, you can move on with your life. Live life to the maximum and try and achieve everything that you want to.

John MacArthur was on his CNN show numerous times and clearly shared the gospel with King, and King rejected it numerous times. While King was alive, he knew the true God of scripture, like everyone done, but he suppressed it (Romans 1).
I will say this; while he was not a believer and (I assume) a liberal, I alway found King to be an affable, respectful man who always was courteous to guests with opposing viewpoints (i.e. MacArthur, among others) I could see off-camera, he being a nice guy to be around.
Larry King: "I'm a Jewish atheist." That's like saying "I'm a Catholic atheist." The oxymoron of the century yet it was Larry King's twisted belief. Jewish is a religion that believes in God, if you remove God you are no longer part of the Jewish religion; Jewish is not a race nor an ethnicity; it's a religion. Larry King was not a Jew, he was an atheist.

He was ASKED to describe his personal beliefs. If you watch his other interviews, he was not condemning of others beliefs. He even stated that his wife had every right to her beliefs--it was just that he couldn't bring himself to buy them after all the suffering he saw in the world.
Loved Larry! He summed up life's philosophy in 4 minutes, usually it takes philosophers many lifetimes to figure out.
In order not to believe in God to admit their is a God King reasons for not believing sound childish to a degree of stubbornness. Just chose not to believe. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
You cannot choose what to believe. You either do or don’t. Can you choose to believe in Santa Claus? Or allah?

Larry made a common mistake, he was arrogant enough to think that if God didn't fit the narrative the he was expecting, or wanted, then God must not exist. Many of the people of Jesus's time fell prey to that way of thinking and couldn't bring themselves to realize that Jesus was the Son of God (Because he wasn't the way they pictured he would be.) I'm sure Larry now has the answers to all his questions.

In the Bible, God is the creator of everything, he also knows everything as he is omniscient, including the past, present and future. So if he is all of those things, he is the creator and has therefore written the life of everything, how can we possibly have free will?
