definitely and probably the best drummer that could sing and hold the beat.
miss Levon and all The Band. we need more of this music NOW!!!!
No one ever held the sticks like Levon! Probably repeating someone else's post, but i"m just to shit old and tired to care! xxx
Was there as a 23 year old , in the marines then
me too...1/2 Wpns Co-Dragon Plt
And that folks is how its done!.
Note the date - that would be New Year's Eve - and anyone who ever went to a Grateful Dead New Year's Eve show could hardly wait for the next one. I attended a dozen or so myself (and usually the other shows in a three or four night year-end run as well.) Why do I mention mention the Dead? Because Levon Helm gave them (and Bill Graham, the legendary empresario who personally oversaw every New Year's Eve show like he was throwing an over-the-top party) a shout out - they were the opener. Those were the days, whippersnappers - and get off my lawn!
Tablature Butler I was three
I didn't realize the Dead were big enough back then to open for the Band
@@JayRiemenschneider no sir it is the other way around, The Band opened for the Grateful Dead
Got to 50+ "Shows" backing the day. Never a New years tho. Gd 4 U, tab- Butler. Oh + sum Ratdog too.( later) Halloween 07 in LI pretty cool

Am I crazy for thinking that the two drummers works?
Nope, definitely not crazy! I think that three drummers works! You can watch the Up On Cripple Creek version they did with Ringo (Ringo + Levon + Jim Keltner).
Legendary performance!
Take care!
In concert for George, 7 drummers
It's cos if one get the covid19 suddenly
You crazy? Come on now.👍🏻☮✌🏻
Covering for each other and sounding great ! Two Arkansas boys playing those drums
Son of a bitch I was only 2 so I missed it !!!!!!!!!!
tempo is ridiculous
Well, when Levon's driving the train and Garth's stoking the furnace, anything can happen.
Terrible guitarist but a smokin bass player..who is he?....looks like the Band’s bass player is playing acoustic rhythm guitar
terrible guitar players?
Terrible guitarist? 😂😂😂 NOT!
Terrible statement.
Ron Eoff is on bass, I had the pleasure of playing with him a few years ago in an Eric Clapton tribute show.
Yeah The Band would only play with shitty guitarists for some reason😳. In fairness it wasn’t a great solo. It sounded he borrowed Garcia’s mutron before the show
@@JayRiemenschneider Garth enjoyed it watch him smiling. Cant have been bad if Garth liked it.
