    We saw The Band in Petaluma in 1983, such a fantastic show, I will always be thankful for getting to see them, after The Last Waltz, I didn’t think I’d ever get to see them, sorry Robbie, but I didn’t even miss him.

    Wow, just realizing Rick died at his home in Marbletown, NY. Guessing he settled there after enjoying the Big Pink area so much? Also, jeez, his son died while attending U. of Albany? That is awful.
    Rick never traveled too far from the shores of the Erie. For anyone from upstate NY or Ontario, something about the region - the weather, the lakes, the mountains, the seasons.
    RIP Rick. And Levon. And Richard.

    One of my favourite songs that The Band ever played amongst many great others . I believe on the album that it was Robbie Robertson who actually sang the song even though he didn’t like to sing cause he thought his voice as awful, I totally disagree lol

    • @jcmaine7589

      Rick always sung this song. Robbie never sang on any songs. His voice was so bad the mics were always turned off. If you listen to songs from the 80’s before Richard died, you would think it’s the original members. Robbie’s guitar was easily replaced.

    • @jimrebr
      @jimrebr 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Robbie Robertson never sang with the band, he can’t carry a tune, bad voice, they always stuck a dead Mike in front of him & he mimed singing.

    • @hannejeppesen1809
      @hannejeppesen1809 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Robbie could sing and often did. However, with 3 great voices, Richard, Levon and my favorite Rick Danko, no reason for him to lead singer. A voice is something your either born with or not. Robbie wrote most of the songs for The Band and played killer guitar, why pick on him because he dosen't sing well.@@jimrebr

    Guess I never realized it, maybe since Levon was often behind his drums. Rick looks pretty darned big...and Levon looks pretty darn skinny and quite a bit shorter.
    Garth's playing here is awesome! As is the whole song, of course!

      Later in life Rick gained quite a bit of weight. Here he is still good looking, and in The Last Waltz he was very sexy. According to IMDB he was 6 ft tall. Levon was a bit shorter. Love Rick.
