Letterman always treated musicians with the utmost respect, and actors with the utmost disdain
quarter_moon and_a_guitar That’s very true.
quarter_moon and_a_guitar Not always.
but the Joaquin Phoenix interview was totally worth it!
It's a pity his mandolin mic wasn't working for "Rag Mama Rag".
Yea, no doubt.
Paul, Hiram, Steve and Will....kickin' it with Levon!!
This is the first time a Late Night episode ever showed the musical performance during commercial breaks!
Thx
Never aired. This comes from a pre-broadcast source, from which I have many shows.

Anyone notice Rick Danko next to the manager on couch? Rick and Levon
had a gig at the Ritz that evening 1.6.1983
I hate seeing “late night” interviews of my favorite people. It is so dumbed down. But Levon’s grace and talent rose to the top. Great to see how much fun the drummer was having playing with him. This Earth is not the same without you Levon. See you over yonder.
Levon's the man!
He is a true southern american gent. This is the kinda guy whod rip his shirt off n wrap it around your injury. Lol. Sucha lovely human
