Very helpful video! My car window was broken and I had to put tape on the window. Now that it is fixed I have that sticky residue there. And I’m going to try this!
Little advice, don't do it under the sun, do it in a shaded area, everytime you are doing something on your car paint, do it under a shaded area, use rug when wiping off that sticker residue with goo gone, dont use any scraper thing because that can also scrape your car paints top coat that can't be seen on naked eye
Hey I was driving the other day and looked like I hit some sort of silicone tube from a work truck and theirs all this adhesive on the side of my car looks like melted gum, would this remove it without damaging the paint ? Thank you
Thanks for doing this test on your beautiful car! I came here to see your experience with Goo Gone. I never thought about WD40 for this but I'm glad I learned. I'll have to make sure I use a scraper too.
@UNSCODST, Someone suggested WD40 but it did not work for me. Goo Gone did the trick while not ruining the paint. I did not have a scraper; so I used an expired credit card. Good luck with your project and thanks for the feedback.
@ Adam West, Goo Gone for Automotive will not damage your paint as per product label. The Goo Gone label and website only recommend to use warm water to wash the car afterwards. With my experience, the paint was fine and it does leave an oily film on top of the paint and that is why you will need to clean the car/paint afterwards.
@Joseph Carr, if you get the Goo Gone for ‘automotive’ it will not ruin your paint. It’s specifically made for removing glue residues from car paint. It does leave an oily film on the car and it’s recommended to wash the car afterwards with warm water.
@Lim Tat, if it’s a thick layer of glue, Goo Gone will not penetrate through. If you are scraping the glue, Goo Gone will help loosen it up. But I still had to do a lot of careful scraping to avoid damaging the paint.
@Technoninja8088, there are definitely better ways to remove glue than how I did it on the video. I tried to used equipment around the house. If it was an expensive car, I would definitely get the best equipments for the job. Good luck with yours. It takes a lot of time trying not to damage the paint. Thank you very much for watching and for the feedback.
Tired it on my jet ski and it was burning the paint finish so I went with the tried and true razor blade now just looking ti get rid of the sticky this or alcohol should do it!
@Charles Eugene Lim.. I haven’t tried it with super glue. But I imagine with a little bit of heat to soften the super glue, Goo Gone should be able to able to dissolve most of it.
Absolute garbage. Left an oily residue on my car that is worse than the bird crap I was trying to remove (which it didn't completely remove). Now I need to go back to the car wash again tomorrow to see if I can get the GOO GONE off of my car!

@Krystal Tagaer... Goo Gone and a plastic scraper should do the trick. Good luck with the project. Thanks for watching!
Same here, how'd it work

Can I use debit card 😁
Question any after effects to the car paint days, weeks or months later from using goo gone ?
@MATT-2033, I washed the car afterwards since goo gone leaves an oily film on the car. But no paint issues.
@@JioniDrive thanks for the info.
@MATT-2033, I believe there is Goo Gone for automotive. You can find it in those Auto Parts stores… probably Amazon too.

Man if you don’t pour more of that goo gone on there 😂
LOL!! I was thinking the same thing
Does the goo gone damage/deteriorate the paint at all over time?

No harm to the paint ?

HI . Can Goo gone removes 3M tape residue? 3M tape used to attach the car body kit (front skirt, side, etc)

Does it work on crazy glue
Crazy glue might need something stronger.
Gumball Rally sticker style all over 😬 they also have plastic razor scrapers which i may get vs An old credit card

@Cinthia Fydrych, I’m glad the video was useful. Thank you for watching!
Eraser wheel the best after that you just polish and is like new
@Mauricio Diaz, thanks for the tip! Next time I will buy an Eraser wheel to make my job easier.

can goo gone eat away super glue?
@Charles Eugene Lim.. I haven’t tried it with super glue. But I imagine with a little bit of heat to soften the super glue, Goo Gone should be able to able to dissolve most of it.
Didnt work😢
Goo Gone worked for me. WD-40 failed. Even with Goo Gone, I still had to do a lot of scrapping to get the sticky glue out.
gasoline works better than anything
@ Antonio Ric
Interesting, never thought about gasoline being an adhesive remover.
Eats paint too tho

Bruh, have you tried soap and warm water?
@@MapleBar777 Multiple car washes with pre-washing by me, so Yes. DERP!
@@TacShooter must've been one hell of a bird.
@@MapleBar777 It wasn't the bird crap. It was the product. I would have been better off just wiping off the bird crap with a paper towel.
@@TacShooter Hence, my first comment.
Multiple attempts at ruining paint in the hot sun. Keep on trying :)
Wd40 plus spit 🤌
