I’ve watched a lot of these types of repairs and you can understandably still see something under the lights when finished. This though is insane. Awesome result. Good work.
You can still see the whole line he filled in when he gets up and moves the angle @ 14:02. Also a tiny spot the paint didn't fill made it to the end. But honestly that's about as good as you can get these spot fills. The goal is to make it so that your eye doesn't get drawn to it and you don't notice it unless you already knew it was there
@@Amddetailing I’ve been interior detailing for about a year, and that’s no problem for me, exterior isn’t too bad either, but paint correction is a whole other story, I knew the way I’ve been shown wasn’t the best, people saying “there’s nothing you can do without repainting the whole panel”.. I admire this and will look into bettering my work.
I’m learning from this guy since I buy and resell cars. I tried on a black Honda accord and not perfect but I did a great job for my first time. I will continue to practice on more vehicles until I get to his level, thank you.
That is the best scratch removal demo I’ve ever seen. I have one of those pens for filling stone chips and always felt it could be taken further for even better results. Great work!
@@Amddetailing Hey, considering metallic paints are harder to fill in due to the metallic itself, wouldn't be be also viable to spray with air brush and then fill with clear?
It's always such a treat to watch a pro work. You know what tools and materials you will need, it's not your first rodeo that is obvious. I want to thank you for sharing just a bit of your talents, sir. This is quite helpful.
Lots of great stuff in this video, especially when you mixed the clear coat and base paint and applied it to the scratch with your pen. What a result. Thanks
I stumbled upon one of your videos over 4 months ago and was impressed by the techniques. Yesterday, after spending so many hours searching for your video in the history and almost giving up, there it was just a few seconds ago in the suggestions while looking for scratch removal. Unfortunately, the new year fireworks chipped my new car paint 😢, and I need to try to repair it. If I were anywhere close to you, I would have brought it for you to repair, but I am in Prague. I have ordered the Mirka tool, airbrush, and all the sanding papers. Wish me luck 🤞🍀 and thanks for the great content and your videos! Very relaxing, lol. 🚗✨🛠️
the channel was unavailable for 12 hours because it was hacked, but we managed to get it back like all the videos on it, I hope you will succeed in your work, I wish you good luck
You see how detailed he is even when filming. Not to many detailed people out there. Im 40 and without any experience just my attention to detail and not to brag either but when i was 16 someone keyed my car. And i taught myself this method by using touchup paint. Tho i wish i would have had this video to reference to i managed to use compound to get rid of all the extra touchup which made it level enough for me being 16 and then, I polished and waxed and barely seen the scratch that was deep in my primer. All said and done i am as good as this man!
Undoubtedly this is the best job done very well on your channel. Appreciate if you do the same procedure on Japanese vehicle which has much thinner paint and soft clear coats than BMW, Merc etc etc as their paint quality gives lot of room to play with. This will help lot of your audience to learn and how to tackle a similar job on Japanese paints. Thanks
Beautiful results once again and step-by-step instruction really help me fix most rock chips and small nicks on my black paint thank you so much for sharing your method appreciated
mate, every time i see your work im blown away . i am going to have to master this method for touch ups mate. its good to see you back with a video again and i wait with excitement for the video on the new compound. thanks again for a great video much appreciated and keep up the great work my friend.

When I follow those exact instructions for a scratch, I end up with a sanded area around the scratch but the scratch still visible. If I sand further, it removes the touch-up paint I added.
Wow, this is unbelievable, excellent and finished with a rotary tool, great job, thanks for sharing!!! Would be nice to put links of the products you used on the video.

if i have small deep scratch like the scratch you had to fill in but much shorter, can i do the polishing by hand because such a small area? or do i need a rotary also? such a great video thanks so much!
I like to tackle all my repairs myself , especially mechanical stuff , I’ve had a few goes at paint chips scratches and similar & do a bloody good job or so I thought …. After watching this I need to go back to school 😮
@ 13:47 where we see the two light bar reflections on the door, where the left lower reflection is, the scratch becomes visible when moving from top to bottom. It is not as visible as before but the scratch remains. Same with the smaller scratch underneeth the door handle. But I must add that (without seeing it with the naked eye) it looks very close to perfect and makes selling a whole lot easier. Good job!
I appreciate the video, just having an impossible time finding "UV Clear Coat" anywhere.. you have any brand or a shop that carries something you would recommend? I have everything except for that. EDIT: Also having a hard time finding a comparable cutting compound. I have options for 400, 1000, 2500, 3800.. there's quite a lot of options out there.
Amazing work, great start and finish. Can you give me list of what need for the deep key scratch have same scratch on my car want to give it a try with your tactics
Masterwork 💯, can I do it on my white VW Polo as I have the same kind of scratch on the right front driver side door. How can I proceed ? Do I have to get paint (the base coat and clear coat mixed from the Sikkens mixing plant at the VW authorised body shop) ? Where can I find such paint pen. I live in India.
Another great video!! For those small spots I’m thinking to get a mirka deros 350 to use with the kovax discs. What do you think? Also the Festool carbide blade to remove the excess. I got the EWOCAR heavy compound, love it, but the delivery is complicated to USA, is there another compound alike that I can get here? Thank you
This diy was nice and very well explained. Just so I understand it correctly, you don't need other then dry 1500 and wet 1500 for the scratches, because on some other videos I've been told to use up to P5000?
Fantastic work. What I'm curious about is repairing stone damage. Are you thinking about making a recording about this. Or is it the same way to fill stone damage with paint pen and then wet sand. Thank you very much for your answer

Hi There 🖐 Another great and very interesting and informative video. I really enjoy watching your work. I do miss the opening: “hello boys and girls” Cheers!!..😎
Hello. Excellent job and excellent channel that's why I subscribed !!! But I have a couple of questions: 1. In this video you used UV clear coat mixing the base color and in another similar repair you used hardener. What's the best option ? And what are the proper way for 2K and 1K Colours? Hardener in dilluted color or UV clear coat in base color? 2. Here you began sanding with 1500 grit and in another repair you began with 800 grit. It depends on the scratch or something else? Thanks a lot and I;m waiting for your answer
If you pay attention he added both clear and paint to the scratch, when sanding he was removing the excess paint/clear mixture that he used to fill the scratch. He shouldn’t have ate away at the clear too much at all, he was just trying to get the excess clear from the fill in to be flush with the existing clear.

Beautiful work, but I’m curious about the clear coat thickness after the sanding and polishing. Ever measured before and after?
Before
What paint is that, just base and fast hardener separate?
Do you need to put some clear coat in the pain or is not need.
GREAT WORK!!! 👍
There is no need for a coating because even the hardener has a shine when it dries, it will not be matte

Hello, did you use the clear coat for the deep scratch? Or only filled with color paint?
Wonderful. Would it work on silver metallic as well?
No
Hello. Excellent job and excellent channel that's why I subscribed !!! But I have a couple of questions:
Thanks a lot and I;m waiting for your answer
uv coating is only better if it dries quickly (5 to 10 min)
sanding depends on the thickness you applied when filling (mostly goes with 1500)
This video gets you a subscriber. Awesome work. I need one of those paint pens. If that's what it's called.
Great job! The base paint is solvent or water based?
Solvent base
This is an amazing demonstration, excellent work! But people should know that this would not work on tri-coat paint 😢
it works but only on red (candy red)
That is a crazy good result ...
tnx
Will the dull sanded patch come back after the polish wears off?
Thank you for the video my friend. Much appreciated.
Tnx bro
Amazing work! When you’re filling in the scratch, and then sanding, are you sanding down the clearcoat? After polishing is there any clearcoat left?
If you pay attention he added both clear and paint to the scratch, when sanding he was removing the excess paint/clear mixture that he used to fill the scratch. He shouldn’t have ate away at the clear too much at all, he was just trying to get the excess clear from the fill in to be flush with the existing clear.
Amazing work! Will this method work on a pearl finish, like Toyota Pearl Red?
