    I have a 2022 Thruxton RS, and from the factory it doesn't have the snorkel. So for anyone concerned about rain or whatever, the factory stopped caring with the RS.

    Nice vid man. I’m going to try it on mine. The respected TEC bike parts in the UK have recommended removing the snorkel in one of their videos when discussing their DNA performance air filters. They said it added some performance.

    • @dorian_vlogs
      @dorian_vlogs  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks bro. If you ask internet "experts", it doesn't help at all but less air restrictions and a easier path to the engine makes for less effort for combustion to happen. A better filter and less restrictions makes sense to me. Let me know how the filter works out. 👍

    I would imagine the air is hotter down there and that's why Triumph adds that piece. Also, it looks like the piece does not make the air intake smaller, so there should not be any difference in the air flow.

    K&N air filters are oiled. Oil has lubricating properties, so the air is lubricated. Slick air= more air=more power. I did this on my carburated Thruxto and got 17 more horsepower and 4 more torques.

    Just a thought. Apart from protection it could be drawing in cooler/denser air as it is higher up away from the engine.

      Doubt it. The newest models don't have it from the factory.

    • @telbenj
      @telbenj 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The White Triumph it is only a tube and is obviously designed to stop debris getting into the air box, you've not improved any air flow with what you have done. If you Dino checked it I'm sure you've achieved nothing apart from increasing the potential for water and debris to get into the air box.

    • @helderjdias77
      @helderjdias77 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@telbenj from my point of view, that's quite unlikely. I also removed mine last weekend. There were no signs of debris, nor water marks inside of it. Plus, the spot where the snorkel slides into the bike is below the air filter cassette, so, I don't see any chance of getting water or debris on the filter. It seems the snorkel is there only for noise reduction, I think.

    • @dorian_vlogs
      @dorian_vlogs  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Tried this free mod today. I live in a tiny city country and peak hour riding are mosly between 2500 to 4000rpm. The torque is definetly better in that range. The bike jerks less at high gear, low speed. Cant vouch for 6000 to 7000rpm, but general pulls feel the same.

The only benefit of those oiled up synthetic filters is the ability to re use by washing them. Not worth it in my book. Stay with OEM to maintain the most airflow and maintain the air to fuel tune within the ECU
