Oh that's actually a touch-sensitive panel around that part of the phone. They're called the "AirTrigger". Technically, capacitive touch panel at the two sides that act like L1 and R1.
So in conclusion, performance/heat wise..its not much different than the previous RoG. Its similar to all the other phones with SD8gen1. In fact red magic 7 looks more stable and more efficient in managing the heat.

@@alhonda433 bs5pro is a great device i would choose black shark device over asus rog but due to better thermal in 8+gen1 i would recommend you either wait for a black shark phone with 8+gen1 or go for rog6 (secondary option)

Is your friend using the Tencent version of the phone? We do have an ROG Phone 5 that has been used for the past year playing Genshin Impact every day. It's still working fine.

I'm not sure. I think it should be the same but Tencent is made for China only, so the software is different. However, I have also heard that the Tencent version has more issues compared to the global variants.

As an android user, it's sad to see that we have such a powerful hardware and still can't get 120fps on genshin impact like on iOS.
Goes to show that software plays a huge role. You can have the most powerful hardware but if the software is not optimized, it's pointless.

The 120 fps mode is fake. Theres no true 120fps. Its just 60 added interframe with an algorithm.....styoopid towel head

Yep, HDMI output over its USB-C port is possible but only for the side port.

You can get 120FPS at high graphics (not very high) in multiplayer mode in CODM.
