We appreciate your in-depth look into using HERO11 Black, Vic! Thank you for your continued support 🙌
You're welcome :) Would be good to connect up in the future
one of the best clips i have seen so far, and ive seen plenty!
Thank you 🙏
Good one. I got my new go pro 11. First time user of go pro devices. This video was helpful. Thank you
Awesome. Enjoy the new camera 🔥🙏
I am a true beginner to GoPro; this is the first one I've ever owned. I would just like to say that this is the very best explanation I've found on the net for the New 11. Thank you.
Wow. Amazing feedback Mike. Thank you. What’s your first impressions of the GoPro 11?
I totally agree, I just ordered mine and I know without a doubt this video was extremely useful 😁
Thank you the first one to explain how to use the gopro 11 in the way i understand. Thank you from a 60 year old man that wants to enjoy his fishing a bit more. As much as the young utubers are we all dont work in N.A.S.A
Thanks so much Philip. Glad you found the video helpful.
This was a super helpful video. Concise. Informative. Well-produced. Thorough. Thanks so much!!!
Hey Kris. Thank you. How are you finding the GoPro hero 11 so far?
You should also mention that you don't have to physically press the mode button to change between video, photo, time lapse. You can just swipe left or right on the home screen. Great video BTW. Very helpful. 👍
Hey there, totally, however I left it out just to make things easier for people starting out instead of all the swipes that you can do on a GoPro! But thank you for the feedback, and thrilled you found the video useful :)
I've never owned a Gopro. However as a hobby I build and fly freestyle FPV copters.
This "For beginners" series is excellent.
Knowing how it all works will be great when I eventually treat myself
Hey Jason, thanks so much for the feedback. Really appreciate it. You thinking about getting the GoPro 11 Mini for FPV?
I know I'm a year late, lol. I just bought the Go Pro 11. I'm still exploring the settings. I'm excited to start using it for my adventures. 😊
😀 the 11 is great. Enjoy the new camera 🙏 Hope all my GoPro vids help you out too
Great video, Vic. Really love how easily you break everything down and also edit your videos to actually SHOW what you're talking about it to make it easy for people (like me who can't always remember all the terms) to follow along - really appreciate the effort you put in!
Hey Matt. No problem. I genuinely appreciate the feedback you’ve given as I find it super helpful. So thank you. And I’m thrilled that you’ve found the video useful and helpful. Thank you 🙏
Except he doesn't.
Great video Vic. You explained all of the topics, how to find them and how to set them. I'm a Gopro beginner. I saved each topic on note cards for reference later. Gopro is amazing. I have played with photography OFF and ON for most of my life
Awesome stuff. Thank you. Glad you found the video so helpful.
just bought my first gopro today, and this video helps a lot. thanks.
Glad it helped Hanseen, best of luck with the camera! What are you planning on doing with it?
@@VicBarry going to take it mostly for my long run :)
Great stuff. Have fun 💨🙏
Thank you very much Vic your videos are amazing 👏 I just bought my first gopro hero 11 and you help me alot, thanks God bless you.
Hi Vic, can I just say this was one of the very best camera tutorials I’ve seen on YT ever (and I love your voice, it’s almost hypnotic and I couldn’t stop listening!). You really have helped me to understand photography/videography a little more so huge thanks from me - I’m usually really bad at concentrating on anything but you seemed to have that magical ‘tone’. What a thoroughly lovely chap :-)
Hey Toria, thank you so much. Really appreciate the super kind words 🙏🔥
thanks for a full description of the gopro menu and settings, this was a great help getting into my new hero 11. You explained this very well.
Thank you so much. Glad you found it helpful 🙏
Hi Vic, I bought the Gopro 11 Hero black and all of the accessories from watching your video's. I've never taken video before and the settings video was sic :) thank you. I hate to be the complete newb but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing a video on editing, the software you use, your thought process - for someone as inept as me. I know there are videos on this topic but compared to all of the other videos on the same topic as your video's nobody explains it like you do. I hope that you will consider and thx. james
Cheers James. Try this th-cam.com/video/FAq0iu3nfwQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=wHgv5WT4NRMl3PYF there’s also a more recent video that revolves around editing Osmo pocket 3 footage, but all the principles are the exact same.
Thank you! Do you have one of you editing your photos/videos on the computer. Taking your raw footage and turning it into the masterpiece. What software you use and why and how to use it. I know - newb! It doesn't hurt to hope :) James
Thank you mate I just went from hero 8 to 11 creator edition....And I really find your videos useful!
Congrats on the new camera 🙏 no worries. Glad you find the vids helpful. Thank you.
@@VicBarry Yes I sure do find it useful. I am trying to reach most best shots of it and get all those cinematic and cool timelapse features of it in future for my channel I just started 2 months ago and blowing up, currently reached 1150 subs and more then million views in 2 months, which I think is crazy:) And getting attention if my subs I will make max to improve all future vids with 11 creator
You were so helpful in breaking down the settings and functions of the GoPro Hero 11 Black for me man really appreciate it as I’ll be needing to understand the functionality of the GoPro for a Queensland trip🙏🏻 Subscriber from land down under 👌
Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! You also made laugh with the: “who’s we?” lol*
You’re the man!!
Your tutorial is the best, and my journey through Oregon will be recorded a hell of a lot better now!!! 😊
That’s awesome Anthony. Glad the video helped you out. Enjoy Oregon
Excellent tutorial! Thank you so much! Cleared up so many things for me.
I just purchased the Hero 11. Never used 1 and never been into photography. It was quite confusing so thank you for sharing your knowledge! Very helpful! Much appreciated!
You’re welcome Blake. Glad this video helped you out. Enjoy the Hero 11 🙏
Thank you for making such a straight forward and very well explained tutorial!! This really helped me understand all the more advanced settings!
Thank you! Glad you liked the vid :)
Awesome Video! One of the best I have seen to help me learn the Hero 11!
Thanks Shawn
I've watched a ton of videos about the gopro settings.....yours is the best! Thank you for that very informative video!
Awesome, thank you!
It's amazing video love you from india
great video, pretty straight forward and crystal clear!
Thank you 🙏
Excellent!! - Question: for filming interviews / documentary close up interviews - what is an ideal setting? Most videos cover action movement / big scene shots. Thanks in advance.
Hey Eddie, don’t think GoPros are the best option for this to be honest. Depending on the interview etc but you’d need a tonne of light to make something half decent.
Thanks for sharing, currently i'm using GP5 black for 5+years and think it's time to change (delivered tomorrow )
thanks man, got my new gp coming this week. new to it all and these tips help. cant wait
Have fun! And thank you
This is the best explanation video chief! Thank you for this!
You’re welcome 🙏
Vic- go pro 9 here, Just off the cuff- where would you think to start/settings for close up fly tying- especially view setting. Thanks, incidentally, don't look now but there's a Yeti hiding on your cap!
Thanks Vic. Learned a lot from this video.
You’re welcome. Glad the video helped you out
Hi Vic. I've just bought a gopro 11 to capture videos when using my motorcycle. I will have it on a helmet mount. Can you tell me what you think the best settings would be please? Just to get me started :) many thanks
Awesome. Congrats. Just to get going, start with auto or use one of the presets. 5.3k looks great but you’ll need a decent sd card. Otherwise safe travels and have fun.
Hi Vic, I would appreciate your opinion here. I need an action cam to record time lapse footage for shorts
The camera will be in one place recording away. What's your thoughts on this camera Vs DJI action camera
Price isn't important. Prefer performance over saving a few quid
Hey Robbie, image quality is slightly better in the GoPro 11 IMO. I’ve sold on my DJI action camera a while back. Too many issues with overheating to be honest.
Nice job Vic thank you.
Thanks for a great walkthrough. Received my GoPro 11 yesterday and this has been so helpful. Feel much more confident to use it and learn more
Hey Justin. Great stuff. Glad the video is helping 🙏 what’s your first impressions of the GoPro?
@@VicBarry excellent so far
This is great. Thank you lots 😊
You answered questions I had, clearly and simply so I could understand, thank you for this.
You're very welcome!
Hi Vic and thanks for information. is the a way of setting a max file size, I’ve shot a video and it’s almost 12 gb in size but that would that a months of Sundays to upload to GoPro cloud is there a way to spit the file into 3/4 gb file size or set,the go pro to record a max file size of 3/4 GB. Really new to this
Thanks for being the only British GoPro tutorial I’ve found
Cheers
Absolutely amazing video explanation!
Thank you 🙏
Very helpful video thanks. And I liked you personality. :)

Your video is quite helpful. I use my camera when I go snowmobiling the problem that I have is getting it onto my Mac computer where I can do stuff with it and share it then edit it and it seems when I do go sledding it keeps cutting off, but I found that I had it on 30 minutes so that's probably why. Yeah is helpful.
Glad it helped!
A very good video. A BIG thumbs up and thanks for taking the time to make it.
Thanks so much Kym. Glad you found it helpful
thanks bro I need all the help I can get...especially uploading to youtube and the editing especially the pic u see before the vid I don't remember the name.
These settings are still scary to use. But this video helped me
Glad it helped
I certainly appreciate your video.....I tried to upload to my phone BUT only got the audio AND it's telling me that it's in "High Performance" and cannot upload to my phone...not enough space?
Can I not just upload straight to FB FROM the GoPro?
Thank you sir.
Awesome video, now I know why my GoPro stops recording after 12 mins every time. Perfect details and not too long. Nice 👍 👍
Thanks
Superb walkthrough. Love your fun style. Thank you
Hey Paul. Thanks so much. How are you finding the GoPro Hero 11?
Thank you!!! You got a new subscriber! Cheers
Awesome. Thank you
Just got my first GoPro Hero 11 Black on Friday so this video will be very helpful for me. Thanks
Awesome stuff!! How's the GoPro Hero 11 so far?
@@VicBarry Have not had a chance yet to really try it out. Just setting it up and starting looking through some of the settings so far. Really like the small size and build quality. Got several accessories with it so just getting familiar with it to start. I’ll watch your video tonight after work when I have the GoPro in front of me.
Be good to see some colour grading pointers, in my journey so far, I can use iMovie, but feel maybe I should be using something like FCPX or Da Vinci Resolve.
My boyfriend wants to film trains. What setting would you recommend?
Thanks for making this, really helpful!
No problem!
Ahhhhh thanks for the video! I change the shutter speed which I think made it look the way it did. I’m like an 89 YO grandpa when it comes to this stuff lol
No probs. Glad the vid helped you out 🙏
Thank you Vic for a great video for a GoPro virgin like me! Just bought Hero11, and it's my first GoPro camera.
PS: Love the way you say 30 🙂
Glad it helps :)
Hi Vic! I’m new to the channel but alread subscribed, that was lne of the best setting videos I’ve watched for GoPro. Can you do next a video for the timelapse settings with all of these new modes?
Thank you 🙏 Yes
I just got the GoPro Hero 11 Black today, and your videos helped me out quite a bit. Thank You. By the way, love the accent man, where are you from?
Cheers Vic, really helpfull vid done with a happy friendly attitude. I just bought a Hero 11 and your tips have made navigating it a whole lot easier. Thanks again & all the best with your channel 👍
Hey Ricko, thanks so much. Let me know if there’s another vid you’d find as helpful
great video ... btw what's the difference between hero 11 and hero 11 black edition ? Is there any performance improvement ?
None. The camera is the exact same.
Dang, nice review Vic. I learned a great deal in a short time!
Awesome stuff Tim. Half it helped you out. Let me know if there’s another video around the GoPro 11 that you’d feel light be helpful
Excellent very helpful. How about a video re the Time lapse. Thanks
Hi.....thanks for helping out noobies........say, is it possible to change the video codec in a gopro11.....from H.265 to H.264 ?
Oh my gosh
What a great video
Thank you so much for your hard work Sir you have explained it so well 😮wow thank you 🙏
Thanks so much. Glad you found it useful 🔥👌
Love your videos! They are such great help!
Glad you like them! Thanks Marko
Thank you for your help and information ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️ℹ️
I just bought my first Go-Pro a week ago and this video was really helpful. What would you recommend for video settings for cross country running or track meets? Thank you.
Hey Richard, thank you. Probably auto shutter and depending on how you want the footage to look, have the boost mode on to the max
Great video, thanks. Do you know if there is a way we can change the video compression to H.264+HEVC or just H.264?
Sooo helpful. Thanks a ton!
Glad it was helpful!
thank you for the video !
No worries!
good video very helpfull thanks for that
No probs. Glad you found it helpful 🙏 thanks Piatto
Good morning. I bought a gopro 11 camera to record myself cooking. Turns out there is no preview while recording, is that correct? is it possible to change it somehow?
thanks for the great video.
Thanks Jay. Glad you found it useful 🙌
Great video Vic, just bought one of these the other day and have lots of cools info to get started now!! :)
Awesome stuff. Thank you. First impressions of the GoPro 11?
@@VicBarry still trying it out, took some videos today. First Go Pro and love the size 😁.
@@VicBarry Have been testing it out a bit over the weekend and have found the menu systems to be very easy to use. My only confusion is the video quality, I have the DJI Pocket 2 which is older and cheaper than this camera and the video quality in just 4k on the Pocket 2 is so much better, super crystal clear. On the Hero 11, I have tried all settings and I still can't get the sharpness, the footage is good but is quite soft. Maybe I'm missing somthing, the Hero 11 is getting great reviews, so am hoping it's just a setting or combination of settings I have not tried yet :(
Thanks...that was very helpful.
No worries Andrew. Glad it helped you out
Can you show us the photo settings please. I’m interested in RAW photos options
Brilliant video Vic, just got my first GoPro and I’m looking forward to trying it out and seeing what’s best for me, I’ve played about with the settings and thanks to the restore option I can’t go wrong, again brilliant video, I found it very helpful but I must say I prefer “tirty” than thirty, cheers Vic
Have fun! Enjoy the new GoPro and thank you 🙏
Awesome video. Now we need your expertise on editing videos.
Thanks Michael. From the editing side of things…what are you looking to learn?
@@VicBarry we go on Jeeping expeditions which typically last 6-8 hours per day. I would like to mount the camera and record the trip, then edit , clip, and condense the footage. Maybe play with audio and add captions. Does the GoPro come with editing software?
If you want the key settings for a cinematic color grade for your GoPro Hero 11 Black check this out now - th-cam.com/video/SaHAgR43JDQ/w-d-xo.html
I just bought a GoPro 12 and I love it but I have noticed that sometimes on certain skin tones things look a bit over sharpened and you can see a lot of blemishes on people’s skin, almost looks too sharp. If I’m just shooting scenery, everything looks gorgeous but when I’m shooting people or interviewing people, their skin looks a little sharp or even artifacts a bit. What do you suggest for more flattering results?
Bring the sharpness to low in the settings.
Nice video and great explanation on settings. Im new to the GP world and this was helpful,
Awesome. Thank you 🙏
Bravo Vic THANK YOU
Hi Vic! great video! i have a question, if i gonna do a Walk-video whith my go pro 11 hero, and have the camera in a frame belt on my chest, just to walk i park/ city environment, a bit snny weather, and some wind(near the water), whats is your best advice on video settings for this video walk ? =)
Hey Jon. Thanks. Depending on how bad the wind is you might be better off with an external mic with a wind muff. Otherwise if the camera is on your chest, keep your back to the wind. Natural wind shield 😆
Exposure wise, auto might be good enough to adjust all the time depending on where you are.
@@VicBarry oh, haha well or maybe i just mute on that areas 😄👍 put some music or something, haha ok to next time i will look on that, now soon finish whith the walk 😊👍 but its a learning journey, and I love it, thanks for the support 😊👨💻🤙
I am a musician trying to capture my choir in concert. What are the best video settings? Is it possible to zoom in so that they fill the frame. 15 singers and musicians on stage.
Hey 👋 if you’re comfortable shooting manually then go for that. Otherwise auto will be good enough (keep in 5.3k or 4k) - don’t use the zoom option on the GoPro as the quality is not great
@@VicBarry thanks!
you need to go to settings and change mode to control "pro" so that you can access all the features explained in the video
Thanks very helpful!
Thanks for the video :). Is GoPro 11 able to shoot 2,7 K video in 30 FPS? Cause in Hero 10 it is not possible. Thank you.
I bought it new when i make make videos on standard mode or cinematic it make videos in slomo after shooting more than 1 minutes which settings i need to do so it not make continue video without slomo in it. Thanks in advance
More on quick effective editing!!!
Great Video!! Tanks, I mean Thanks lol ;) (From Wales now living in USA)
Glad to help!
can you use a power adapter to use it inside the house?
Hi! How do you record using the 360 option please
Great Video
Thanks Jozef
Thanks, that was very helpful :)
No problem!
Where do you find the spot meter settings?
Excellent!
Awesome video !
Thanks Justin 🙏
nice video!
Great Video, New Sub and 11 buyer! thanks for sharing
Awesome thank you! And thanks for subscribing Tony!!
I’m a shy v-logger who is excited to try my first GoPro tomorrow in public. I want to be discreet. Can’t deal with a large camera in a crowd
Hey April, best of luck. Hope it goes well 🙏
What framerate and lense do you recommend for getting the cinematic view? Im gonna use it for POV filming when i play airsoft, if that makes any difference
For the most coverage all round consider the 8:7 aspect ratio which uses the entire sensor and you can reframe in post to whatever you want. That mode aside, use the widest lens possible and make sure the boost mode is on for stabilisation
