Sam Altman is a prepper. That alone should scare us.

Excellent discussion. Congress, of course, will do absolutely nothing. Meanwhile, far from the OpenAI distraction, North Korea is developing their own LLMs, with nary a thought for ‘alignment.’ The genie is out of the bottle.

Kara, Scott, I feel bad for people who think Ozempic is the only solution. Intermittent fasting works similarly to Ozempic and its free. All the info is available to learn on TH-cam, it’s skipping one meal and lowering carbs everyday until the weight comes off. Coffee and tea help with morning hunger pangs. It’s life changing. Science show you cannot exercise your way to weight loss without eating correctly. Hard for some, but many people can win with this alternative. Sorry to proselytize here, but (from my recent experience) docs are simply not informing their patients about this option.

Is Kara going to comment on Helen Toner's new comments considering she spent a month carrying water on Atlman's behalf and dragging the openai board through the mud?

Scott: “One compensatory thing here is that any group of people that decides to call themselves ‘super alignment’ should be fired.”
Kara: “If you have a performative nature of being heroic. You're going to be slapped later, cuz you're
going to let people down, period.”

I think there are more and more Americans that don’t really care about that big house and all that you think is important. The mega money crowd will fade. More quickly than you can imagine. The world is changing

Cara - "I like Sam". Scott - "That's what business is." They don't care about the harm Sam or people like him do to others and society... or at least it's not as important as winning in business.

Kara Swisher: "I'm sorry Jan, do something else."
Also Kara Swisher: "I've always been safety-affiliated"
Do you hear yourself? Jumped the shark for sure.

Scott, you sound like you have soured on "capitalism". Your suggestions to "transfer" wealth from the rich (old) to the young sound more like socialism.
