Yeah well, the Chinese govt doesn't accept complaints. So what's he supposed to do about that? Devise and install a better Chinese government?
In the US complaining is a fundamental freedom, so he availed himself of it.

I don't know how I missed Ms. Swisher going to Vox, etc. I used to read her columns in the NYT, and always found them insightful and well researched. After seeing an interview where she referred to J.D. Vance as the butler for tech billionaire oligarchs, I thought, "Hey, there she is.". Very smart, very brave, reporting. I'll be back following her content as I can. Great interview. Thanks.

How is she brave? She parrots what she reads from someone else. A loud mouth doesn't make anyone a champion. Being a dork who gets on TV doesn't make anyone a champion either it just means they rallied all the other dorks with inferiority complexes that match their own. The strong would never follow this woman and our country won't survive without the people she vilifies.

Kara Swisher seems the jilted lover who can’t accept that Elon has moved-though she would have us believe otherwise. I think he chafed at her efforts to control him, tame his masculinity, and silence his voice. He already has a tyrant father, thank you very much-he doesn’t need a bossy big sister. She seemed unwilling to adapt to the changes in the relationship, so he had to impose needed space for now.

@@TheDavidlloydjones Then why didn't they use that "necessary government force" to break up giant gatherings of thousands of people, in direct violation of covid lockdowns, in multiple cities across the country, who were NOT social distancing, not observing any medical protocols, many not wearing masks, yelling and screaming right into cops' faces at point blank range, with spittle flying all over the place? Where was the "necessary" government force then? Especially when the same government was preventing people from operating their businesses, going to church or a wedding, or saying goodbye to a dying family member? The answer is because government force is arbitrary, always has been arbitrary, and always will be arbitrary.
Be very, very careful about so casually excusing and justifying government power and overreach, because that power WILL be used in ways you DON'T approve of by people you don't approve of, guaranteed. It is only a question of when, not if. The "for your own protection" rationale has been used by EVERY authoritarian, dictatorial, totalitarian government to silence dissent, toss people into jail, and much worse.

The Wall Street Journal spoke to numerous sources who said that Musk does drugs not once, but on a regular basis, and much of the time the drugs are much harder than pot. I think your point about a chemical imbalance due to drugs is reasonable… I’m just pointing out that it appears to be from a lot of drug abuse including hard drugs, and not just one time smoking weed. A friend of mine hung out with Musk once a few years ago, and he said they stayed up late getting hammered doing shots of hard liquor. Many people don’t consider that to be a drug, but it is kind of similar… And it is very similar if a person is getting wasted off of it. And it indicates that he has a problem with substance abuse.

It would have set back the conversion to EVs by a decade, and that is a decade we likely don’t have on the climate catastrophe since I think we are already twenty years too late.

      About $10-15 million.
Anything more than that and they see themselves as royals.
And there is only one way to deal with royalty…..
      Think France 1789.

Nice try, but he can't be African American anymore than the various Europeans born in China and living in the U.S will ever be Asian American or Chinese. You may feel that way but the Africans will never accept him as such and that goes for the dutch foreigners and their progeny occupying parts of South Africa as well. They'll never really be "African" and as the African majority increases to 4B by the end of the century that will be more true than ever. GL to those farmers. "The Chickens are coming home to roost"

Agreed. He drove companies that built actual products as opposed to software apps of dubious utility and for that he should be commended, but he did change and has turned into a complete doofus. Very much along the lines of Howard Hughes or William Hearst, he's entered God complex territory.

You'r problem with Elon is that he is exercising his constitutional right to freedom of speech, and you don't like it. You don't like the fact that he's not towing the leftist line.
You are just a far lefty, and you don't like anyone saying anything opposite of your political ideas.

Trump's Muslim Ban was basically a campaign promise. So even if Musk could've convinced Trump that the idea was wrong, the momentum behind it was too strong to reverse.
I do remember Musk saying that he was a source of sanity in Trump's group of business consultants. lol

I'm still on the fence about Musk, when he became a Republican I knew he was a corporate man and I hated that about him. He has done what the auto industry refused to do, go electric. He has shown NASA that private industry can do better job then they can. He knows how to hire the right people something the auto industry and NASA hasn't done. The people he hires come up with some of the best innovations of our times and yet I have this feeling that he can turn on this country.

He deserves credit for organizing great minds, but he himself isn't one. I'm glad what people were able to accomplish under him but he's evil and I despise anyone who tries to paint him as a genius or visionary
