  • Suzuki Intruder "Tear Down" Part 3.
How to remove the Front & Rear Airboxes of a Suzuki Intruder VS1400.
A simple task that involves a few bolts and a few screws. Take note of your wiring harness and don't go forcing anything. If the airbox won't come out, something is still attached or wedged.

This is the biggest project I have taken on, The bike will be completely stripped down to the frame, the engine will be removed for new piston rings to be installed, the wiring harness is going to be rewired and the entire bike overhauled, ready for spring 2020....I hope.

Is this while riding or when at idle? Popping and banging typically indicates a lean mixture if some sort.

Hello Hagar, love what u are doing in these videos, very resourceful, please I have a little issue, 2 issues to be precised, I will say I'm confused, the first issue is the hydraulic valve tappets at the rear engine, I bought the bike with 22k miles on it, so each time I start the bike in the morning,I always hear this valve tapping from the back engine, and after running for about 5 minutes, it will disappear, I've been using it like that for about a year now, but now the it doesn't stop at all, it keeps tapping continuously even when the engine is warmed up, please is there any solution for it.
The second issue, though I will not call it issue, is that I just installed Dual Vance and Hines 450 titans slip on mofulers on it, though it runs well but I get I little drop in power, I know I should have re- jet the carbs, please, what's sizes of jets should I install on the carbs and how do I set up the A/F mixture screw. Please I will love your kind advice's. Thanks

I would fail miserably at these videos. There's zero chance I could keep the original audio, and would absolutely have to do voice overs. Why, you ask? Because, as I do when I've worked on....my Intruder, my Honda Shadow, various aircraft (military and civilian), machinery at work (I'm senior maintenance tech in an optics lab), I am constantly asking, "Who's the crack smoking SOB that thought THIS was a good idea?!" You have way more patience than I can muster!
And the 10mm wrenches/spanners? Oh yea, they are our equivalent in commonality to a 7/16, and are constantly missing. The equipment we have in our lab is all metric, and the 10mm (and 13mm) wrenches and sockets are worth their weight in gold.

Hi Hagar, thank you for the video, quick question, what do you do with the hose connecting to the airbag? one if for oil dripping down, but the other one connects to the motor head.. what do you do with them if your installing pod filters?? thx

    •  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Grab yourself a mini air pod filter for the line off the top of the head, Video of carbs re-install will show you what I used, Due in a few days ;)

Hi i was thinking about installing smaller air filter k&n's like what do you think?

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi. Yes it can be done BUT you will have to rejet the cards to accompany the new airflow. And unfortunately, there is no "1 size fits all" solution.

I'm confused. You say that throttle cable splits into two cables for each carb I presume? But why is there a cable between the 2 carbs aswell to sync them? I always thought that there is only one throttle cable going to the first carb and another one between the 2 carbs to sync.

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Apologies that I wasnt clearer on this, you are absolutely right it is to sync the carbs throttle. I've done a full carb video that I'll post as soon as it is edited.
