I changed the gear oil in the 1996 Suzuki Intruder 1400. I used the Valvoline 80w 90.

I actually have a small leak there , I think it’s in the axle oil seal

I'm not sure how hard that oil seal would be to replace. I would have a friend there to help since you will have to take the rim/tire off the bike.
