    I have the 2018 Sport wagon in Island blue and we LOVE it. Two long trips to Florida and back home it was awesome. Yes the off the line speed is lacking, I wish it had more HP, but once up to speed passing is no issue for this baby. The AWD is fantastic, she is glued to the road no matter the curves. The big wheels on the sport give it a fantastic ride, handling and hardly any road noise. The infotainment is the best and largest that we have seen, it also has Apple Carplay and Android. We love our subbie

    If the older impreza has more hp and torque than the new impreza but both do 0 to 60 in about the same time does the older impreza still feel more powerful because of its extra hp and torque or is it just a wash?

    These sedan Impreza are quite pretty looking in real life, especially in the Crimson Red Pearl color. Actually, like them quite more than the hatch and than the older brother Legacy. The rear end is particularly nice, perhaps one of the best looking of all cars on the market. Well done Subaru designers!

    We own 2 imprezas. A 2018 base hatch and a 2022 premium sedan. The 2018 has 69,000 miles on the odometer. Because it is a base, when I replaced my tires, I had to spend to replace the terrible steel wheels and worthless hubcaps. In 69,000 miles, we have lost 12 hubcaps. That’s enough to tell you to get at least the premium trim. Because I had to shell out so much for the wheels, I had to let the 60,000 mile spark plug replacement, sit on the back burner. I was not prepared to put out $800 to replace the spark plugs. The 2.0 engine is just too weak for the car. At least, offer a 2.5. It would give this little gem, much needed umph. Outside of these issues, the Impreza is sweet. My 2022 premium trim sedan, is great. Subaru should discontinue the CD player. And replace it with a heated steering wheel. You get heated seats. That keeps your tush warm. But your hands freeze. Just a thought. We also have a 2020 premium trim Forester. Not one zonk for this perfect vehicle. We love our Forester.

    What 's the problem with most people complaining about the CVT no matter what, they woudn' t know the difference if they drive a car with that trans or a traditional one, if more and more car companies are adopting them, it' s because they are more economical and reliable in everyway, so stop whining like babies.

    • @tbr2109
      @tbr2109 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Economical? Yeah, that was the major stated reason behind auto-makers switching to the CVT. High MPG numbers and comparative ease of production. Reliable though? That has yet to be seen since they haven't been the "standard" for more than a few years, apart from hybrids. They are less complex than traditional automatics, so that's a plus, but conversely they are considerably more expensive to repair / replace. Also a some people object to the general "feel" of CVTs, specifically the delay between when you depress the pedal, and when you feel an actual response from the car.

If you want an Impreza and can just pay a few grand extra, no reason not to just get the better car. I've had both and trust me, the Impreza is boring.. I had the 2007 base model. The WRX has much better resale value as well, handles better and has pretty much the same interior. • @confidentlocal8600
      @confidentlocal8600 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a first generation Mazda3 that's within 200 pounds of the Impreza's curb weight and about 1 hp and 2 ft-lbs different in torque from the 2.3 liter normally aspirated engine. It feels WAY faster. It also snaps the throttle open almost instantaneously and can accelerate up a hill at 35 mph in 4th gear at 2000 rpm. Mazda designed/tuned the engine for drivability over economy, but I can still get 29-30 mpg on long trips. And it's port injected, so the intake is squeaky clean even after 125k miles. It's a delightfully smooth engine that has given me extremely reliable service.
      I recently test drove a Crosstrek. The rev hang really is terrible (and even the Mazda has some) and the power just isn't there below 4000 rpm much at all. On the highway I had to shift to third gear to accelerate at all, while my old Mazda can pull adequately in top gear. The Subaru's tune is biased heavily for economy and emissions. A bit more consideration for drivability could help--not increasing max power, but making what power it does have more accessible and less peaky.

    I don't understand why all these affordable cars have shit horsepower like come on man, it should at least have 200+. Wtf is 152hp, that's the only thing holding back from buying this

      I've got a 13 year old Mazda3 with 151 horsepower, and it's pretty snappy. It has a decently wide power band and instantaneous throttle response which make it feel faster than it is. The weight is pretty close too. I think the issue with the Subaru FB20 engine is the tune. It's pretty dead below 4000 rpm and then wakes up suddenly, so it can be a bit of a slug off the line.

    Nice car, but CVT.... ugh. At least it's close to 40mpg.

      A lot of people miss that the CVT version actually gets the better awd system (60/40 torque split, clutch-type), faster acting and better economy

      What evidence do you have for this supposed lack of CVT robustness?

    • @cheril8891

      That 40 mpg is a joke. For 2018, try 22-24 mpg no matter if your on the hwy, freeway or city. Big disappointment.
