You could spend 30 minutes talking about the tray and it would be both interesting and informative. 30 mins fly by, pun intended, your videos are always full of great content. It is perfect to focus on one topic.
Really glad to hear it John, thank you. I try to keep the videos short but it rarely happens! When the tray table is modelled, I'll get that 30 minute description of it uploaded!
I dont know much about aviation, but your content is just gold. I enjoy it and it makes so much sense when you explain it. Please keep up the good work!
Time flies when you're having fun. Half an hour was all that was needed to finally make sense of all the lighting. Thank you for taking your time to post these videos!
Thank you, I've been looking for a complete video on this topic for ages. You answered every single question I had plus a lot more. As always, your tutorials are fantastic. Cheers mate!
Wow, great info! Loved it! 30 min of such useful information. Makes my simming experience remarkably immersive. Also, if you ever make a meditation app using your voice, I'd pay! LOL
Very interesting! Watching your videos when I want to learn something more about the fbw 320 for msfs. Fun fact! Your nav lights are the same as in my industry, the shipping industry. ;)
Thank you very much for this video. With all the background information and reasons for each light I might finally get rid of my "randomly flippng light switches just before takeoff" procedure :D
Awesome video, as always! Don't know if you noticed but this video is not included in the MSFS playlist, so when I searched for it after you mentioned the lighting video (I'm currently going through all your MSFS videos one by one) in another video I couldn't find anything and thought I'm going crazy... 😉
Thanks a lot for beautiful explanation... Airbus has changed the procedure for Nose Switch before landing ... Now Nose Switch light is to be placed on Take off position (Not Taxi) same as it was placed before take off.
I would like to add: at least in North America, the wing ice light is frequently used regardless of conditions from taxi right up to initial climb at least, if not 10,000. This adds to visibility, even outside of low visibility conditions. I pair the wing light up with logo lights (when logo is separate on other aircraft).
I have watched loads of videos on how to fly in a sim and end up turning them off because they just waffle on. I have to say your videos are brilliant your voice fits a perfect Instructors voice how you explain the proper way to do things is great, how you explain things you can tell your a real pilot, are you a instructor.
Fun fact (07:00), the strobing or rotating vehicle lights have to be on except when you're in one of the tunnels when you should switch them off. That's the way it is at LHR. Not sure about other airports.
Thank you for yet another excellent video. It’s great to learn from a real Airbus pilot. Your tutorials has given me new, valuable knowledge and been a great help for me in switching from Boeing 737 in P3D to A320 Neo in FS2020.
Thank you for a great video!! Extremely informative. I love how you use the drone camera to highlight each key point you are providing. I always wondered what was the purpose for the Beacon light. I thought it was just for visibility. I also enjoyed your other videos as well.
There are so many similarities with marine navigation lights. Although we used a red light in the wheelhouse and not a white dome light so as not to affect our night vision.
I just wanted to know how to turn the brightness of the autopilot panel, I was looking for FOREVER. Would have never looked under the panel 🤔😂🤷🏾♂️ Appreciate it🤙🏾
Thanks for the comprehensive overview, I didn't really know the Strobe light was so important for the ground service crew and that there were separate knobs for the FCU lights, these are a bit hidden.
Q3. Taxi Lights. At what point do you turn the turn off the taxi lights when parking at the gate? Is it before you turn towards the gate so that you don't blind the marshaller or do you keep them on for the turn so you can see better and turn them off as you approach the marshaller closer?
Does anyone else notice a severe balooning effect on MSF20 with the Airbus...stable approach then its almost like the throttles go to TOGA (they don't, but feels that way) and last few seconds of approach the aircraft just seems to gain altitude and floats - never had this issue in XP and flown the Airbus for couple years
You know it's really a shame that although they've put so much detail in this game, there's no built-in feature which actually reviews how well you're following all these procedures to give you some rating or feedback or whatever. You need to rely on payware addons, most of which only care about beacon or landing lights at 10000' transition. I've yet to find something that monitors all the different lights and forces proper use of them. As for the presentation, it's absolutely fantastic and covers pretty much everything. By now we're taking the content, quality and accuracy of these video series for granted.
Q1. Taxi Lights. I read somewhere that taxi lights indicate that your aircraft is in motion or is about to move. If you have stopped taxiing, you should turn off your taxi lights. For example to give way to another aircraft at an intersection or holding short at the runway, you should turn them off to indicate to the other aircraft that you have indeed stopped and do not intend to move. Is this true?
@320 Sim Pilot , great video. Question on the landing lights and take off light would these be used in the day as well or just at night and maybe poor weather conditions? Thanks
I've noticed in the sim that strobes on "auto" will actually still emit a dimmed, steady white light while on the ground. Is this not the case or relevant on the real thing?
And there was me thinking you were going to tell us all about some Airbus LIGHT aircraft ;) - j/k aside, the best explanation of what to flick and when. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Thank you so much for all your videos and the time you take to create these fantastic tutorials. Do you think that a PAJN LDA X rwy 08 approach could be in the list of your future videos? Encore merci.
Q2. Navigation Lights. I read once that Nav lights should always be turned on as soon as the aircraft is powered up. This can be a warning to ground crew that you may be doing control checks or control surfaces can move so they may want to stand clear or not be startled. Is this true?
Sorry to comment on old video, but was wondering if there is any procedure to turn of taxi light when stopping during taxi, for example holding to let another aircraft pass, or waiting in a queue? I know that this can happen in the 737.
I guess i am one of those people who likes to switch lighting to bright position at night. Ye you geting small light shadows on the glass. But it's better to see all of the buttons and swithes as clear as possible in case of emergency or a mistake of your second pilot.
Why strobe lights dont seem that bright in the game? Initially i thought something was wrong with my pc or installation but then realised in all other youtube videos its the same, specially in day time the strobe lights dont look like they are turned on at all in external camera view. Isn't it supposed to be a little more bright than that?
Just getting back into flight sim after having a dead computer since MFS released. Old video so probably won't get a reply but Question: Does procedure change in a Airbus during inclement weather such as thunderstorm, heavy rain and fog... Perhaps i missed it but you didn't mention it in the video only saying you would keep interior on dim until possibly tod when it would be switched off. it was my understanding that during atleast thunderstorms all cabin lighting should be set to bright to decrease the chance of flash blindness. Majority of my flight sim hours have been on Boeing aircraft namely in XP11 and getting back into MFS i've been flying the A32NX primarily, atleast what majority of the Boeing checklist (OM/FM) i used to use always suggested and some aircraft even have a dedicated Storm button that forces all lights on in cabin.
Thanks for this video. I was of the impression some companies will leave the beacon on any time slides are still armed after shutdown, so as to warn ground crews?
I was going through the keyboard settings and it doesn’t look like you can toggle the nose light with a key command(on the FBW at least). That’s unfortunate , it would help me when taxiing if I can just use key commands for lights as needed and focus on taxiing.
Jokes aside, I would actually love to see random videos like that! More A3220 trivia please :D
Main use for the lights... To look cool! and show off those mad lighting effects 8-)
Good stuff! I've always been confused when to use certain lights so this just increases the realism that much more. Thank you. Love your videos.
Glad it was helpful Jeff! Thanks for watching.
I needed this video so much! The lightening confused me a lot knowing what to have on at the right time. Thanks again man!
I was looking for a lights tutorial like this for a while! Thanks you, it was perfect!
Excellent timing! You are welcome, thanks for your comment and for watching.
That is great. Maybe you need to be an aviation nerd to appreciate it but that’s the best description of aircraft lighting I’ve ever seen!
I dont know much about aviation, but your content is just gold. I enjoy it and it makes so much sense when you explain it. Please keep up the good work!
Thank you Hermann, really appreciate it!
Time flies when you're having fun. Half an hour was all that was needed to finally make sense of all the lighting. Thank you for taking your time to post these videos!

Really enjoy your content. Very nice productions. Thanks for taking the time to create these videos, highly appreciated!
Great content as always. Looking forward for a full flight in msfs2020!
Always learning from your videos. I fly the Toliss A321 most of the time and need to learn so much. Thanks!!!
i love your videos...your approach in explaining every detail it-s just perfect. also idk why your voice relax me a lot lol
Wow, great info! Loved it! 30 min of such useful information. Makes my simming experience remarkably immersive. Also, if you ever make a meditation app using your voice, I'd pay! LOL
I can't get over how stunning the interior of the cockpit looks, the lighting is just superb.
I absolutely love this series!
All airlines: the lights are to be seen, protect others and ourselves.
Ryanair: leave that tail light on! Advertising is paramount!
😂
Ryanair have a coin operated metre in the cockpit for the pilots to pay for electricity.

You are very welcome!

Quite illuminating.
Very helpful. Sometimes we all take the ‘basics for granted’ picked us useful stuff here. Many thanks!!
What about wing light?
Great tutorial!! First explanation of the lighting system that made sense and was easy to follow. Thanks!!!
Really nice video. Thanks for all your efforts on our behalf 👍
very informative and helpful, keep these type of videos coming please
Thanks Tom, will do!
Very good video! Thanks for making it so informative

Brilliant insight again into the 'REAL' world of flying. Always love your videos 320 Sim Pilot. Thank you.
2 days ago, I was wishing for a video about lights. There I have it 😊 Thanks!

Fantastic! I'll never have a use for all this information since I work at a desk, but it is very entertaining and interesting nonetheless.
All your videos are so great. Thank you Captain for all this very acurate informations you bring to all of us. Fred from Tahiti.

Thanks for taking the time to produce these videos. Great perspective.
This really helped me.. Thank you!
Great video, really wanted to know what they were all for and more importantly when to use them. Thanks for another great video :D

Thanks Michael, will do!
Another great video. Really need a full cold dark setup video for the mod. :D

Awesome, like the others. Thanks a lot
I don't fly the airbus (i am exclusive to the cj4 and vl3) but this is a very relaxing video to watch.
Thank you for the video
very informative, tysm!
Hi, just wondering if anybody can answer where to turn on the interior cabin lights for passengers?
@320 Sim Pilot , great video. Question on the landing lights and take off light would these be used in the day as well or just at night and maybe poor weather conditions? Thanks
Fantastic stuff. Thanks!
You should check out the new airbus sidestick and throttle quadrant from thrustmaster! I got mine yesterday and I'm really liking them.
Thank you a lot for your videos!
Great vid!
Thank you very much Atlas!
What about the lighting for the passengers? I notice the interior lighting turns off when everyone's asleep, is this controlled somewhere else?
I've noticed in the sim that strobes on "auto" will actually still emit a dimmed, steady white light while on the ground. Is this not the case or relevant on the real thing?
Yes probably so that ground vehicles have a clear indication of where the wingtip is to avoid accidents
And there was me thinking you were going to tell us all about some Airbus LIGHT aircraft ;) - j/k aside, the best explanation of what to flick and when. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
Thanks for the detailed and amazing tutorial as always!
My pleasure! And as always thanks for watching and commenting Smooth Flying!

Bright LEDs? Sounds very familiar when driving on the road with other LED users, blinding! lol
Can you please make a video explaining turn around, , touch and go and stop and go execution? Thanks!
This is amazing. Just what I needed.
When landing at what point do you turn on the taxi and Turnoff lights?
Top video as always please can we have one on different approaches like ILS, VORDME, LOC, RNAV. Thank you for the great tutorials
Always learning with you, thanks! Strobe lights to auto after landing ? What's the idea? I turned it on while crossing runways, why auto???
Sorry to comment on old video, but was wondering if there is any procedure to turn of taxi light when stopping during taxi, for example holding to let another aircraft pass, or waiting in a queue? I know that this can happen in the 737.

Thank you, cpt! Great video. And what is the difference between NAV lights #1 and #2?
Someone on the Discord server said it’s just for redundancy in case a bulb burns out.
Hello from Cambodia real Airbus pilot always love your contents..... 👍
Thanks for the info! Very useful! Can you explain why strobe goes to auto after landed instead of off posittion? Whats the difference?
320 Sim Pilot: "Never turn on the nose light"
Me, who always turns on the nose light: "hold up"
You need more likes on these videos. LOADS to learn!
Could you comment on the function of the Nav lights for use with passing rules and it's connection to ships? :-)
Wing lights?
When they turn the brightness back up after take off it's like when the teacher turns the light back on after watching a film.
Thank you so so much for the help
Do you turn off the taxi lights when you turn in to the gate?
I was going through the keyboard settings and it doesn’t look like you can toggle the nose light with a key command(on the FBW at least). That’s unfortunate , it would help me when taxiing if I can just use key commands for lights as needed and focus on taxiing.
Oh yeah, nose light set to taxi prior to landing, thanks for that tip
