    320 sim pilot, I don't know if you care, but today, I did my smoothest landing so far.. -76 fpm... I rewatched your landing tutorial, and VOILA!

    So. For how many years have I assumed that the crabbing during approach was achieved with the rudder and that the action of straightening up on touchdown was to release that input. DOH! Explains a lot of my landings :-)
    Thank you!

    I'm glad that Asobo changed how to set gusts in one of the Sim Updates ... at the beginning, gusts started at a minimum of 50% of the wind speed, defaulting to 100%. With 30 kts wind we had always as least 15kts gusts additionally.

    Great video as always
    I was just a little confused about the way you used the gusts in the simulator, from what I observed, in MSFS the winds will fluctuate between your wind speed and gust speed.This means that when setting a gust speed on 6kts and a wind speed of 30kts, you will see winds fluctuate between 30 and 6 kts (and not 30 and 36kts) so to acheive the winds that I think you wanted (near 3:34) you would need to set your wind speed to 30kts and gust speed to 36kts (to have winds fluctuate between 30 and 36 knots).
    In other words, the actual speed of your gusts will not be the set gust speed, but will actually be the difference between the wind speed and the set gust speed.
    I am sorry if this comment is too confusing,I know that that is not how it works in real life and I might just be wrong but I thought that I should point that out.

    • @speedbrake22
      @speedbrake22 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can see the wind speed in the graph below it. And it only shows 7 knots

    • @320SimPilot
      @320SimPilot  3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hi, glad you enjoyed the video. Great spot on the gusts, I think you are correct and that would explain why they were not working as I had hoped. I had expected gusts of +/- 6 kts on top of the current speed. That is how the full size simulators usually work! Interesting to see it done differently and will try again in future. Thanks for watching!

    Great video. I find in the Toliss 319 I’m having to use some slight aileron into the wind after decrabbing to counteract the roll. I’m adding rudder gently, not kicking it. I believe with actual Airbus philosophy I wouldn’t actually need to make that aileron input? Or am I doing something wrong? Generally speaking the Toliss is pretty top notch.

    Do student pilots/instructors have a saying they use that helps them remember which rudder pedal (left/right) to use based upon the cross wind? I always seem to doubt myself which pedal to use. I end up touching the rudder pedals for a bit to figure out which one is the pedal to use. Which is dangerous since it can cause the AP to disengage (It does in the TBM). 324 Likes and climbing!

    There is a real life production environment video which shows a worker utilising a compressed air hand actuator, to pump over 200 litres of compressed air in to an unsuspecting and nominally behaving engineers anal sphincter.
    The large compressed, cold, expanding and super sonic volume of air entered the airman’s anus and caused massive internal damage with immediate effect.
    The lower internal organs were blown wide apart within the body cavity and as expected, resulted in death of the victim.
    So all modern high air line equippped shops throughout the industrialised world, have hereby been notified to never inject any fluid into any other worker. Regardless of state (solid/liquid/gas/etc).
    Never should volumes of gas be transported between natural sphincters through means of injection purely in order to create new sounds and comedy thereof. At the cost of an engineers life.
