  • Garden Gals and Guys, in this video we are doing some rainy night harvesting for a couple cut flower bouquets all grown from seed! I like to have fresh flowers in my newborn twins' nursery and I put the bouquet without sweet peas in their room and the one with sweet peas in my bedroom (since they are poisonous - just in case!). Most of these flowers in these bouquets are cut and come again flowers like snapdragons, sweet peas, and zinnias. You cut them and they keep comin' back with new blooms! Stock is the exception (it will NOT grow back) - I used two branches of Stock because of it's incredible smell...I didn't grow them last year and missed them, so I'm glad I grew them this year.
You'll also get a taste of some of my Floret Original Zinnias that I've grown. They just started growing and I'm already a fan! However, because I was rushing get everything planted before the twins were born, I didn't label everything, so you'll have to give me some grace there. BUT the back beds are labeled, so we can rest assured we've got the correct variety names there.
The video and audio quality is a not as good as I'd like due to the rain and time of night, so I apologize for that! Hopefully you still enjoy this video. If so, please like this video and if you haven't yet, subscribe to my channel to follow along with all things garden!
    Thanks for watching! Happy Planting!

Your girls will remember the smell of sweet peas all of their lives, just like me. Mij father used to grow them when I was young. I am 66 now, and I still grow sweet peas, love, love, love them. Kind regards Joke from The Netherlands.

Thank you Steph! Beautiful arrangements! Update over here. Having a hell of a time this year with rabbits. Haven't had the in 6 years since we got our pups, but this year....WHOA! I bought myself a 8x2 Vego garden for the yard specifically for my cut flowers..They ate EVERYTHING! Very sad over here 😢. I had a 1/2 barrell planter with a bunch of snaps. No bunnies, but they all died, but 2. It was shortly after I fertilized. Maybe no fert next time? However, my lissies are coming along. After my ordeal with Geoseeds, got those lissies in late (which I dropped all my seedlings a while back, so don't know what's what) but they're coming along in a half barrel on the patio.
Anyway, always learning!!! Love your vids!!!

I don’t fertilize after they go into the soil! That could’ve been it. And actually, to be honest, I didn’t fertilize at all this year for time sake. I still had good results. Maybe next year I’ll only fertilize ranunculus, anemones, and sweet peas since they’re heavy feeders…we’ll see!

Gorgeous bouquets 💐. Worth all of the time and effort!
    How are your lisianthus doing?
My dahlias successfully overwintered in the ground without any special treatment! Mild winter here in Elgin may be the reason? IDK 🤷🏻‍♀️
That big storm system last week really helped the garden come alive ❤

Hi Jill! My lisianthus are now putting on a show...I actually just filmed a lisianthus video and hope to get it out this week. They're gorgeous as always and I have some new favorites! Super jealous of your over wintered dahilas...what a treat!
