2024 Favorite Tulips for Cutting & Bouquets! Last Tulip Bouquet & How I Flip Tulip Beds to Dahlias!
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 19 พ.ค. 2024
- Garden Gals and Guys, this is one of my favorite videos to make - I share with you my favorite tulips of the 2024 season for cutting to make bouquets here in my gardening zone of 5b/6a! Such beauty in these raised beds! You'll find my favorites are vibrantly colored and saturated, often have texture, long stems, and bloom prolifically!
Grab a pen and paper because NOW is the time to order your tulips for next season to ensure you get the varieties you want!
Additionally, I show you my favorite of the season (spoiler alert: Avignon Parrot) and explain how I flip my tulip beds from a cool season flower bed to a warm season flower bed by planting them up with dahlias! It's wonderful to get two different seasonal flowers out of a single raised bed and it's worked beautifully for me for a few years in a row now! If you're short on space or beds, flipping beds is a great option to get more bang for your buck!
Please comment below and let me know your favorite cut tulip you've grown this season or what is on your list to grow next season! If you enjoyed this video, please hit the "like" button and if you haven't yet, remember to subscribe to my channel to follow along with all things garden!
Thanks for watching! Happy Planting!

Girl.. God bless you and those little humans in your womb and life💜
Cool y’all still have tulips! 🌷
Love, love, loving the Mango Charm!! Looking and sounding great Steph. Keep it up...in the home stretch ❤
First year growing tulips for bouquets and wow i was blown away by them
I hope all is well with you.
Beautiful tulips.
I do not grow Tulips. However, I have enjoyed your video and your enthusiasm for the bloom. Stay well and remain positive. Best wishes.
Thank you, Steve! 😀
I grow tulips in the garden, not for cutting, so leave them in ground. I've had luck with the returning and multiplying in the past years, but only had some species and darwin varieties which have a reputation of coming back. This past fall was the first time I went crazy with the tulips and ordered specialty ones. I guess I'll see how they come back! I ordered my tulips already for this fall, and might get a few of them in ground, but the rest may go in pots in the garage - guess I'll see!
Good luck with the pregnancy, you're almost there!
those are some beautiful flowers. thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Tulips are gorgeous! How are you feeling? Hopefully all is well! Keeping the candle lit!
Hi Maria! You’re the sweetest! Feeling good! Scheduled an induction for 3 weeks from today, so we’ll just see if the girls agree to stay in until then. Everybody is healthy though! 👍 Thank you!
Your tulips looked lovely. My two favorites were akebono and blushing lady. I will grow them both again.
Muy relajante
I loved black hero and lambada this year. Apricot Parrot was lovely as well. I feel fortunate that I have enuf area to leave my tulips in the ground -- I cut a lot of them for bouquets but don't pull them. I live in a dry area and have a lot of success with tulips returning. Your beds of tulips were gorgeous.
Oh, wow, that’s fantastic that yours return for you! I ordered Lambada, but that’s one that molded on me with keeping them in the package too long…I definitely want to try that one and Apricot Parrot as well for next year. Thanks for the reminder, Sandy!
아침 상쾌한 머리속 달달한 전원의 소리를 담아봅니다. 너무좋아요, 최고입니다.
잘 감상하고 행복안고 물러갑니다 .4번조아요.👇❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you!
Those Rasta parrot tulips…I CANTTTT 😭😍😍 It’s like they’re not even real…I have everything planted, started my zinnias, amaranth, and frosted explosion grass from seed. But…I’m battling THRIPS 😭 I found them on my two seed dahlias, and also on my peppers and tomatoes. If they were on my floret celosia, I prob would have cried lol but I’ve been treating them, and we got a DOWNPOUR last night and now I don’t see any eggs or anything! Will still keep treating tho 👿
I know…aren’t the Rastas sensational?! Put them on your list! And OH NO! I’m so sorry to hear you’re battling thrips! Fortunately, I’ve never had them, but I’m certainly hoping they stay at bay for you! Glad to hear almost everything is in! I’m about a bed and a half away from having everything in…so behind on editing videos, but pushing against the baby time clock to get it all in! Cheers!
Yeah! Ok will watch this later, but today Cicadas are starting to come out. I think tomorrow with the heat - it's going to get interesting. Grateful to get my big work done. I love them and am excited for them to come, but don't relish them crawling up my arms :)
Our garage had several on it today, so they’ve arrived. I’m seeing a little damage from them, but so far nothing terrible. Thankfully!
@@TinysGarden Yea I don't worry about damage with them..... And I'm just glad all is well w/you!
When you order from flower farmers are they actually producing the bulbs or do they just buy big quantities and divide them? I'm so intrigued about bulb production. Am experimenting myself to see how many years turnaround and quality/quantity of bulbs produced. Would love to not have to reorder bulbs one day and am blessed with lots of room. Black parrot , Sensual Touch and Rococo are my faves. Surprised you got the height from a late planting. Such a cute helper ❤
Good question…I have no idea to be honest with you. I do notice a difference when I order through a place like Tulip World or Holland Bulb Farm vs. flower farmers…the flower farmers quality and bulb size have always been much better. The only wholesaler I’ll order from now is Colorblends. I’m happy with their quality too. I was pleasantly delighted with how they performed given the late planting…good to know though in a pinch! Thank you! 😊
wow beautiful what do you do with the bulbs? i live in Chicago i plant mine once and they come out evry yr . if you throw the bulbs let me know i can buy them from you thank you.
Hi, I’m hoping that you and the twins are doing well! Waiting for an update!
Jumping in right away before seeing the video….. you ok? Home from hospital? Twins still cooking or did they need to make an early entrance into the world??? Hope all is well 🌸🩷🌸🩷
Hi Lizzy! I’m ok! Twins still cooking! Was in the hospital with contractions, but they kept me two days and we got them under control, so babies can keep developing! Good on the home front! Thank you for checking! 🥰
You look precious, Steph! Beautiful belly!
