Aloha! Love the videos! Need your advice, please. Lord willing, our ‘ohana is headed back to Maui next year, and I wanted to know if you all had any tips about airport shuttles from OGG to Kaanapali? Normally, we just rent a car at the airport but we are packing a lot for this upcoming trip so it would be easier and cheaper if we rent a car after dropping off our stuff (instead of getting a big SUV or van at the airport for the whole trip). Mahalo much!
One of our favorite beaches we stayed at the Ridge at Kapalua a few times in the day when there was the Kapalua Bay Hotel and there were no Town homes or is it big houses behind the beach. Good old days.
I am going there on the 3rd of January, glad to see everything is sort of open again. My only big concern is testing for covid and getting the results back on time. I'm going to have to test on the 31st which hopefully doesn't get complicated.!

@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide thanks for the response. Our last flight from LAX is at 9 AM 15th Jan. What would be good time to take covid test appointment? 9 am 12th or 12 pm 12th ? In one of your video you guys mentioned some PST/EST issue, I didn't understand fully.
We went when there were only residents on island. Now, you gotta make a reservation. They have limited seating on the grass but first come first served.
Yes, it can. Kapalua is northwest Maui so it gets the winter swells. Check conditions before you head out, get The Snorkel Report by The Snorkel Store for daily conditions.
Ah, I see you drive a Leaf ev! I am planning a move to Maui (love the vlogs) and am considering shipping my Bolt ev...how is the charging infrastructure?
It just got a lot better with new Type 3 chargers installed on the island. But there are not a lot of type 2 chargers evenly spread on the island and those can be hit or miss on working. But, we love having an EV and it makes complete sense on this small island. Shipping it over is a good idea.
@@TheHawaiiVacationGuide Mahalo! That is such a relief as I doubt I can charge at a condo unit in my price range. FYI I had a Leaf before the Bolt. Loved that car! Love your videos. As an aside, there are so many videos about moving to and living in Hawaii that focus on the negative; so few focus on the positive...of why the sacrifices are worth it. Would love to see one from a couple (family) that is clearly making the best of it. Regardless, your perspective is valuable. Keep 'em coming. :-)

The Kapalua Coastal Trail is the easiest, starts at the Ritz or Kapalua Bay. Mahana Trail starts near D.T. Fleming Beach. Lots of walking trails behind the golf course.

what is a good day of the week to go to the bay? When the crowds seem less. We are going Saturday.

Is there a trail in Kapalua that’s easy to get too?

Yes, the resorts like The Ritz and Montage are the most expensive on the island but Kapalua Bay is free for all.
