@@galog333f5 GTX 1050 would be perfectly fine. Go for a 1050 Ti if you can as it has 4GB GDDR5. With 2nd Gen Intel CPU's in a business class PC like this, RAM speeds will cap at 1333MHz. 3rd Gen Intel and up supporting DDR3 is 1600MHz. i7-2600 would be great and they are pretty cheap now.
Have the same optiplex 990 but bigger tower. it currently has 16gb ram, gt 610 like this, i5 2400. Average for the game I do play on it, it can get up to 60 - 127 fps without an issue. I did have win 11 installed but I don't recommend trying it for a optiplex 990, it don't work to well so back to win 10 pro 😁
That would be due to the 2nd gen Intel CPU limiting RAM speeds to 1333MHz. Even if you install 1600MHz, it will run at 1333MHz speeds. Unless you were to have a motherboard that supported increasing the RAM speed, which this Dell OEM board would not.

When are you getting this message? If you are getting visual output with the graphics card, something is working enough to get a display. Does this error pop up when you are trying to boot to Windows?

Boot the PC on, hit F2 until you enter BIOS, and navigate to Boot Order and set the USB as the first option. Are you installing Windows? If so, maybe the target SSD/HDD and usb as second option. F12 will pull up the boot menu to select it on a one time basis.
The GT 610 works with Windows 10 and there are Windows 10 Drivers available on the NVIDIA website. I didn't run into any problems, but I am also not the owner of this PC. I haven't heard of any problems thus far. Hope that helps.

@@UdayPoran Motherboards will only accept certain generations of CPU's as technology changes quite fast. So, this motherboard from, say, 2012, will not support a CPU released in 2022. No matter the size. Search up any CPU on a site like CPU World and you will see the variety of socket types that individual motherboards will support.

Yes there should be no problem using a GT 710. Maybe look for a GT 1030 if you can, it is much better and shouldn't cost much more.

You can do both if you like. HDMI will work fine connected to your TV

I can't quite remember and I can't seem to find documentation online. Try both configurations, there's no harm in seeing which one works.

There are 4 x SATA Ports, so you could probably get 4 x 2.5" SSD/HDD in there. Probably not 4 x 3.5"

I believe that RAM speeds will cap out at 1333MHz, but you can use any brand, even if the speed is 1600MHz. The RAM will work, but at a reduced MHz.
