      Yes that was odd. The GT 1030 was released in 2017, so my thought are that it should run seamlessly in Windows 10. But, perhaps it was just my luck. The good thing is that it worked out in the end :)

      Thank you! I would say your case your rules. You could cut a rectangle out of the side panel to provide some passive air flow. If you cut right beside the graphics card that could allow heat to be ventilated out by the fans on the heatsink. You could put some kind of mesh on the cut out to collect dust. Just an idea, let me know if you try something out.

      @HaisteComputerRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YeahNoTellTheTruth The typical run of troubleshooting involves all the hardware connected to the motherboard, including the CPU. The manufacturer tests are not always indicative of a problem. If you have more than one RAM stick, try running just one, etc. Look at the CPU and CPU socket to determine if a pin is bent or if something looks off. Try another power supply if possible. Check the voltage reading of the CMOS battery if you can. Swap out the peripherals if you can, in the odd chance your keyboard or mouse cables are providing a surge. It never ends, haha, but it deepens your knowledge of computer hardware if you have the time to commit. In your M58, do you know what CPU you have installed?

      The CPU seems to be fine as per bios info. CPU is Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3GHz, I'm sure that's enough for Windows 10. The RAM is what was originally missing when I found the system, so I had 2 MT8JTF25664AZ-1G6M1 spare, but it's 1600MHz, while the OEM's are 1333MHz, would that be an issue?

    • @HaisteComputerRepair
      @HaisteComputerRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@YeahNoTellTheTruth Cool, replacing the HDD is an easy fix. I would recommend getting an SSD. The Core 2 Duo paired with a HDD boot drive and only 4GB DDR3 RAM will only run so well. The SSD will provide a big performance boost and they aren't expensive if you go for a 128GB. I'll ship you one if needed (for a price).
      Even though your RAM is 1600MHz, it will run at 1333MHz if that is what your board is designed for. I would try to go for at least 8GB if you can.
      The Core 2 Duo E8400 is not bad, more the minimum you should expect performance from in 2021, but you need the SSD and 8GB RAM to make it a good experience.

      @@gajowyrozetko9178 Fair enough, thanks for sharing! If you like, you could modify your original post to better clarify. That would be awesome. Otherwise people might get the wrong idea when looking for helpful advice. I appreciate you sharing, but the original post isn't as specific as your follow up. What GPU, under what circumstances will it get hot, why you might recommend this, etc.

      That's not too bad. What did it come with for RAM, SSD/HDD, CPU?

      @@HaisteComputerRepair I bought one in February for $80.00 CAD. (as we speak there is one for sale online within pickup distance for $80.00) It came with a monitor, keyboard, mouse; RAM 16gb, SSD 240gb, cpu i5-4570. (I added an M.2sata card in the PCIe slot, for OS; plugged the DVD into eSata socket.)
      The real improvement to m93p would be the modifying of the BIOS, so it would boot from an NVMe card in the PCIe slot. It can be done, and was done, but it is not something I would attempt.

      @@m93p That's odd, I must have missed the CAD after the price. Sometimes I skim through comments pretty fast before replying. Either way, $80 CAD is a great deal. Have fun with your system :)
