My favorite tips were the Mercedes Me button tutorial, the double lock, the 10-second hold to only unlock the driver door, and the split-screen mode. Thanks for sharing!
The steering wheel CAN change tracks. You just have to be on the Media screen, but once you're on there, the touch button on the right side of the steering wheel can control the tracks. Swipe down once to go forward a track, swipe up once to restart the track, swipe up twice to go back a track. Only downside is if you're not displaying the Media screen, then this does not work. Also, I've never tried the concierge service before so that was really cool! I wonder how much less the car would've cost if it didn't have that service haha
I bought the C 300 sedan when it first came out. I had so many problems with it that Mercedes let me swap it for a C400. That car had even more problems… I was living at the service department. And that console piano black trim was a scratch and dust magnet. I couldn’t in good conscience sell it privately so I traded it for a C coupe made in Germany. That made all the difference in quality control (the sedans were made in US)…. almost 4 years in, only a few warranty issues.
I don't actually know how anybody buys any other cars.. I always default for a C300 4matic, so far your video has convinced me for my next Mercedes to be a c43 AMG. You're forgetting the cool trunk foot sensor for when you're carrying things in your hands and can open/close the trunk hands-free.
Great video, but you can change tracks/radio stations using the steering wheel. You just have to select music or radio to display in the dash, using the right menu on the steering wheel - then you can scroll up/down using the trackpad which will change the track. I’ve been using it everyday since I had mine. Ps glad to see you found my key charging tip useful 😉
Hi Roar Grime, Thanks for sharing. Quite the oversight from me not to include this! I was bothered by this in my prefacelift C300 which had the old steering wheel without the touchpads and since getting the newer C43 I guess I've been listening to the exhaust too much to realise the touchpads can skip tracks! 😁
Great video. In addition to tip #22: There is an "emotion start" provided by MBZ on AMG models. Simply hold down one of your shifter paddles before you start the engine, gives you a few good pops n bangs without going through all the other steps. Enjoy :)
Thanks Justin! Love the emotion start but unfortunately my C43 does not have it :( It got added mid 2019 to the C43 and mines an early 2019 so I just missed it!
Unsure about the UK but here in the US if you turn the ignition to position 2, then set the drive mode to Sport+ then start the engine, the car will rev on start exactly like the “emotion start” in newer models. My pre facelift C43 with the older command system does this.
I do not understand everybody’s fixation on “pops and bangs.” There motion start on my 2023 C-43 AMG makes an interesting F-1 sound but “pops and bangs” sounds like you are having mechanical or fuel problems.
Great video, well put together and informative. I'll be checking out one of two features I've missed! Actually if you want to skip or go back on a track all you have to do is have media on your dash screen and swipe up or down on the black square button on the right of your steering wheel.
You’re mistaken about number 9, you do have a next/previous track button on the steering wheel, it is one of the square buttons (either left or right), swipe your finger to the right for next track or swipe your finger to the left for previous track, if I remember well is like that
The square buttons are mini touch pads if you swipe your finger on the right one it moves selection around the digital dash. And the left square controls the center screen. They don’t work to change track unless you use them to select the change track button on the screen so unfortunately this is not the same as next/prev track buttons.
If you haven't already, could you make a tips video with the current MBUX system. This is the old command interface along with the out dated phone app.
Hi Andrew, I'm hoping to get my hands on one of these soon to cover the new MBUX and I'm also hoping to buy the new w206 C63s when it arrives so plenty of modern content to come in the near future :)
It's an old video but fingers crossed there's an answer out there....my iPhone plays music just fine through the Comand interface on my C43 AMG, but there doesn't seem to be any way of accessing tracks, albums etc without scrolling through alphabetically right from the beginning every time. Massively tedious if you want ZZ Top for example! On my BMW you could spin the search wheel quickly to bring up a sub menu to allow you to select alphabetically. Is there a solution???
@@ABAUTOAMG Yo Adam. No bro, i was considering buying a used C class coupe and heard screens can have issues a few years later. Good to hear. Update: Looking at a 2017 e class coupe 220d. thanks for reply.
I checked by my car 2018 ! It does not have most of options that you said ! Most of these 🤫 secrets that you said are optional and you have to pay between 10000 and 20000 euro more and most Mercedes cars don’t have it
I've noticed with Mercedes they really hit hard with the optional extras, what makes it more confusing too is each country seems to have different things standard or optional. So things that are standard in one country cost extra in another sometimes. Here in the UK we have a premium and a premium+ pack, we don't get to choose many independant options. AMGs tend to come with a lot of features standard also.
on my c class u can actually skip songs u have to press the home button go to media and once ur in media u can use the up and down buttons on the steering wheel
The concierge service was added to the c class with the 2019 facelift. I think you can get it on all models but it may be an optional extra or part as a pack.
Go for it! It's tricky at first but I love making videos, its become such a big passion and we're building a nice little community here. One of the things I've promissed myself il do if abauto ever gets big is help new and small upcoming channels out as I know how hard it can be at the start.
@@ABAUTOAMG Also wanted to say love all your vids. I only just recently bought an A class but I really like how Mercedes keep a lot of the same features throughout the models.
I think the W206 C63s will be epic for content here on the channel next year maybe. Even though the v8 is gone :( The car has some impressive technology and F1 bits that I think people will be really interested to see. That being said it will have to be fun and amazing to drive when I test also to make me buy it :)

@@ABAUTOAMG THX! I think so....I guess it's about 1 sec. fast and almost 10 Kph more. My question is if it's only software or something mechanic. I can get to 225 HP easy....I will post if i do it! Nice car you have!
Have you ever had issues with the heated seats? I've had 2 brand new mercedes (an A200d and a A220d) with the new MBUX system and they've both had defective heated seats. I've taken this up with the dealer but they just keep fobbing me off
Hi Chris, Sorry to hear you've ran into these issues :( I've had two C classes from new and I've never had any problems with the heated seats. It may be an a class issue or you might just be very unlucky :( Keep nagging the dealer they should fix this under warranty. If they continue to refuse then I'd try a different dealer, it can vary sometimes which is another pain in it's self I know! :( The only issue I had with my seats on my previous car (C300 Coupe) was the drivers side seat suddenly developed a horrible creek. I took it to my dealer and they identified a broken clip and replaced it for me and it was all good.
Aaron , yup , it should be under the boot floor and don’t forget the little retractable hook under the top edge under the boot for hanging your shopping bags on.
The app is compatible with the 2018 c class but you will need to check if it was spec’d on the car from new. It was an optional extra for the c class so not every car has it. You can check by taking your car to a Mercedes dealer and asking them. I think you can also have it fitted too if your car does not have it.
actually for tip 22 there a way faster and easier way is holding one of the paddle while turning engine which called motion start I belive but not all car has it only newer ones but I assume urs does have it
For the hill hold, after I put it on Hold, then jab the brake pedal hard, the Hold releases, so I don't have to use the Accelerator to let it go. Is that working as intended?
@@ABAUTOAMG that's how I expect it work, which it does. But there have been a few times when I jabbed the brake pedal, by accident, after putting it in Hold, and the car suddenly started moving. I don't think that's supposed to happen. I'm wondering if this happens to other people too?
Hmm im not sure It may be that any pressure on the brake pedal resets the system and deactivates it so the car moves. I will check in mine next time im out.
hey man, i recently bought a second hand 2019 c43 amg. i am supper happy with it apart from one thing,,, it doesn't have the performance exhaust. Do you think it is worth the extra money to get the performance exhaust, or do i just deal with it.
Hey! Congrats on your C43! The car still sounds great without the performance exhaust you just miss out on the crackles and a bit louder pops. The exhaust does make it better but its a great car either way!

@@Mental_Illboy That's what a benz do lol.... myself I used to look down on my car saying its just a cheap benz until I met a guy at an auto shop who got very upset when I refereed to my car as a "little benz" ....he told me a BENZ IS A BENZ regardless of class or year....since then I worship my little monster.....and the ladies tooo lol...
@@metrix9125 Exactly and it is true! A benz is a wonderful car.
Before this one I bought a brand new 2018 Nissan Micra tekna.
It was a great car but absolutely nothing compared to this C class I own.
I'm always looking for a excuse to drive.
I'm happy for you sir, hope you will enjoy it for a long time to come!
@@ABAUTOAMG well, that’s better than nothing
Great video. Thanks
Thanks!
QUICK QUESTION, WHAT DASHCAM DO YOU USE IT LOOKS REALLY COMPACT AND OUT OF THE WAY.
Awesome vid
Thanks Steve!
Is there a solution???

hi, you can also push the gear selector down to D :)
Cavanite blue. Nice. Any problems wit comand screen failure bro? ty 4 vid
Hey, I’ve not ran into any issues with the Comand screen. Is yours malfunctioning?
Well buddy, just got tboned by someone blowing a light. The c43 saved my life. Can confirm, the care is extremely safe.
So Sorry to hear that mate :( Gutted for you but so glad you are safe. I hope you are doing ok.
Lexus has that fuel cap holder in the same spot 🤙
on my c class u can actually skip songs u have to press the home button go to media and once ur in media u can use the up and down buttons on the steering wheel
WoW …. I definitely was about to get a BMW for my 1st car but Nah After Watching These Tips And Tricks I Am Definitely Goin To Get This Now ❤️
Bmw had all these features in 2013
Are all or most of these features available in the 2017 model ? Thanks a lot.
Yep! A lot of these should work on the 2017 model 👍
Just from the concierge service, I’m going to get one. Is it just for the AMG or ever C Class?
The concierge service was added to the c class with the 2019 facelift. I think you can get it on all models but it may be an optional extra or part as a pack.
Maybe I should make videos with my E53 like you do :)
Go for it! It's tricky at first but I love making videos, its become such a big passion and we're building a nice little community here. One of the things I've promissed myself il do if abauto ever gets big is help new and small upcoming channels out as I know how hard it can be at the start.
Learnt a couple of tips - sadly command touch does not support the iPhone
Hey David, That's a shame to hear I saw they had apps on the store but I use an android phone so I've been unable to test them myself.
I didn’t know the trick with the indicators for changing lanes. I can’t stop doing it now. 😂
haha great :D I will admit I try to use it as much as possible myself 🤣
@@ABAUTOAMG Also wanted to say love all your vids. I only just recently bought an A class but I really like how Mercedes keep a lot of the same features throughout the models.
@@ABAUTOAMG Hello, What TIP # was that one so I can view it again. Thank you
Thank you
Fun to see that basically half of the basic tricks are present on my 2013 opel insignia turbo :D
So when are we both upgrading to the c63 :)
I think the W206 C63s will be epic for content here on the channel next year maybe. Even though the v8 is gone :( The car has some impressive technology and F1 bits that I think people will be really interested to see. That being said it will have to be fun and amazing to drive when I test also to make me buy it :)
Is this normal the different version of the c43 in your video ? I noticed the bumpers are different 😂
Hey, it’s all stock but it’s the 2019 facelift.
Thanks Mercedes’ man 👨
Hi all. I don't have this crazy C43 AMG version, i have the 220D 170 HP. Does anyone know if the difference from the 170 HP to the 204 HP is only remaping? Thx! Please keep up these great videos! Sorry my english...
Hi! You should feel a good power increase with a remap on your car :)
@@ABAUTOAMG thank you. Love your videos and your car btw 👍🏽
Turns out it was a faulty controller unit so I was actually just very unlucky! All repaired and working now. I look forward to your next video 👍🏽
@@chriskeefe4676 Ah thats great to hear you got it sorted. Thats so unlucky!
I need to check my trunk to see if i have that collapsable crate!
Aaron , yup , it should be under the boot floor and don’t forget the little retractable hook under the top edge under the boot for hanging your shopping bags on.
where is the TCU mode to change to my driving preferences ?
Abouto does c class still do proximity when the key fob is of like hold unlock and lock
My 2016 Audi A3 has a holder for the fuel cap too, I think most modern cars have a holder now days
Ah! Here I was thinking mine was special! Dident realise that a lot of cars have them now. I guess thats only a good thing :)
Would the mercedes me app also work for a c coupe facelift from the year 2018? Or is that too old
The app is compatible with the 2018 c class but you will need to check if it was spec’d on the car from new. It was an optional extra for the c class so not every car has it. You can check by taking your car to a Mercedes dealer and asking them. I think you can also have it fitted too if your car does not have it.
I don't have park assist, does anyone know how much it would be to add that feature?
actually for tip 22 there a way faster and easier way is holding one of the paddle while turning engine which called motion start I belive but not all car has it only newer ones but I assume urs does have it
I love emotion start but unfortunately my car does not have it :( They added it to the c43 mid 2019 and I have the early 2019 model.
@@ABAUTOAMG ohh i see sad ohh well maybe one day we both get the new cars and we both do it xD
Brilliant
For the hill hold, after I put it on Hold, then jab the brake pedal hard, the Hold releases, so I don't have to use the Accelerator to let it go. Is that working as intended?
Once its on hold I dont touch the brake at all I just press the accerator when ready to move and the brake releases
@@jamirajamira7303 yes, pressing the brake again after being in hold does put it back into drive. I figured it was normal. 2022 GLA45
AMG
hey man, i recently bought a second hand 2019 c43 amg. i am supper happy with it apart from one thing,,, it doesn't have the performance exhaust. Do you think it is worth the extra money to get the performance exhaust, or do i just deal with it.
Hey! Congrats on your C43! The car still sounds great without the performance exhaust you just miss out on the crackles and a bit louder pops. The exhaust does make it better but its a great car either way!
Do you know how to set start stop permamently off? I had it turned off for almost 2 years (yellow icon with crossed A) but two days ago it changed and now I have to turn it off every time...
Hi Sw3ar, I'm not sure myself. Have you tried turning just the ignition on then switching it off before starting up the car? It may stick next time then otherwise I'm not sure if it's possible.
My family has a mercedes 12 years now And i just found out it got a hidden feature
xD
Your tyre pressures are not in PSI, they're in kPa.
