We had a Bichon who loved my husband, he dies from lung cancer, she went everywhere looking for him, the only thing that helped was giving her the fleece he wore before he passed. She died two years later she was only seven years old and i think grief killed her, she never got over my husband dying. X

It breaks my heart how some people are completely willing to just abandon their dogs when we are so clearly the most important part of their lives. It makes my blood boil when people pretty much treat them like toys by getting rid of them when they had enough of them
I think there should be a test you have to do to own a pet. In my childcare class we had these dolls that were lifelike and would start crying at any time. We had to figure out what they wanted (bottle, nappy change, burping, etc) and do it. It recorded how long it took for us to figure it out then we talked about the results in class. We had to take them home with us for two weeks. Maybe we need something like this to show people what it takes to own a pet.
I believe that if someone doesn't have self love they treat humans, animals and their environment badly. I don't respect a human who treats animals poorly as much as I don't respect an animal lover who treats human poorly.

I love my two dogs chichuas Yorkie both rescue and they are my life I am so happy living these two babies they bring me joy and love if anything happens to my children will take care of my babies , these will be my last dogs we will all grow old together threes are my prize possessios God gifted these two to me first the chichuas then four months laster the Yorkie.

While I was in the hospital for leukemia, my boy Cozmo would wait by my bedroom door at home until my mother opened it. He'd run in and look around for me and when it became clear that I wasn't there, he'd look at her like, "Where is she?"
When I finally came home, he wouldn't leave my side.

When I'm sick my dog won't leave me. If I'm stuck in bed, he's there. He'll go outside for a quick run, then straight back into bed with me! He won't leave my side until I'm getting better. I always know I'm about to feel better when he starts doing his own thing more, even if I still feel off. He seems to know when I need him most. I love that dog more than so many people!

My 55lbs Goldendoodle literally hugs me when I get home. At first I found it creepy. Now, I know it's how he shows me that he missed me...

Sometimes I believe we humans don't deserve dogs. To them, we are their world. But to us, they will always be second. It pains (and angers) me so much when people who decide to have human children decide to abandon their dogs. Or when people just abandon them after realising that they (the owner) suck at simple tasks such as toilet training and would rather have clean carpets over the love and affection of a dog.
thtupid I don't regard my dogs as "second", they are my companions and friends. Humans are brainwashed into believing that animals are inferior which they are not. I agree with you that many people who own dogs should be banned from said ownership. We care for our dogs and should endeavour to give them them best life possible.

I remember reading a news story about a dog who saved a kid. Armed burglars came into their house and the kid fled upstairs, leaving the family dog with the intruders. The dog attacked and got shot twice, but as it was slowly dying it noticed the intruders went upstairs and thus would find the kid. So the dog jumped up despite the bullet wounds and attacked again, the police then entered the house. Thankfully the kid was smart enough to call the cops, but if the dog hadn't attacked those men would have killed the kid. A lot of people were commenting things like ''this shows the bond between owner and pet'' or 'thank goodness the dog saved that (15 year old) boy!'
Bond? Really? That dude left his dog to fight off men with guns. And the dog did, barely surviving, for his stupid ass. Dogs are so great, I never understand the people who leave them behind in emergency situations. If my house is on fire, I'm not leaving without my darlings. If the car is sinking into water, they are leaving first. If an armed idiot walks into my home I take the back door with my dogs besides me. Flood? Tornado? Short on food? I know how long I can go without water and warmth, I don't know how long my dogs will last. They get every thing first. They are invaluable. I will fight you for them 0^0)/////

My Doberman male died at 13 but I can't know this for sure but I think he liked to be hugged. If I sat in a chair or a sofa he'd climb up to me with his front legs on the chair and drill his upper body close to mine and rest his head on my shoulder... As a human I couldn't resist hugging him and he didn't display any discomfort. He just walked down when he was done hugging. I mention his age because I want to emphasize the love between us. 8 weeks- 13 years... I would choose that again over any girl

My female rottweilers do the same. They push themselves right against me and put their head on my shoulder or chest and usually put a paw in my lap or hand. It sounds like he loved hugging you or he would have moved pretty much immediately. Sorry for your loss 💔
When my stepdad moved in, he brought along a middle-aged shitzu that’d never leave his side. After a few weeks, the dog took a liking to me and I taught him how to fetch. Since then, he’s stayed by my side. Occasionally my stepdad will joke about how I “stole” away his dog, but What’s beautiful is that I think my dog and I truly calm each other’s anxieties.

My husband has 2 dogs. I don't work, so, I stay at home with the good boys all day. The youngest good boy was suppose to be my step-son's dog. He became so attached to me that he stopped sleeping with the boy and started sleeping next to me. When I was ill, I slept in the living room for 2 weeks. Good boy never left me. Now, the other good boy started doing the same. Both of them follow me and snuggles with me more than their supposed masters. The youngest would follow me to the washroom. I can't close the door because he has to see me all the time.

I need to embrace and enjoy the time I have remaining with him. So sad he couldn't live as long as me. I'm 27 now and rescued him before he was even a year old. Same here buddy! We lost our sweet angel Swissy to a strange disease. The wife and I were miserable without our big girl 😔 We were out 1 month later shopping and stopped by Petco. Little did we know, we were going to fall in love with a lab/pit mix. She was so cute and friendly we just had to adopt her. 6 years later, she our big 110 lbs of pure love. I work nights, so when I'm ready for bed, I have to push her towards the middle so I can go to sleep. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I always pick Molly up every day and tell her that she's my Dearest Dear, and that I surely do love her!! At first, she was a little hesitant, but now, she tips over and asks for a belly rub!! Then, I pick her up and hug her!!

I love my two dogs. I am glad I got to know them. I had a bad trauma with dogs before but I was able to conquer my fears.
When I moved out of my parents place a few years ago their dog got so depressed that she stopped eating and playing for a couple days. It broke my heart but warmed by heart both at the same time
My dogs don't generally actively seek play time but they tend to stay pretty much on top of me 24/7.

The embracing point is so true!!! When we first got our Lily, she despised being picked up. Once she started sleeping on my bed and realizing I was her main care taker, she lets me carry her around like the baby she is ❤️
personally, i strongly agree with not training a dog to be aggressive, as well as not getting off on a dog being overly protective. my first dog was a papered pit, and her love for all humans was what made me so proud of her (like never, ever once barking at the front door). remember, no one wants to enter a home and be fearful of a dog, nor would i ever want to worry about my dog hurting someone. my current dog is a rescued pit mix, and while she will bark at the front door, i have zero concern about her harming anyone, be it at home or out and about.
Sometimes I think of an old dog when I was a kid named Teddy. He came across the street where I was sitting and nudged his head under my arm so it was around him. Even as a kid I recognized he needed love. Wish I could hug him again😕

For me when I lost my best friend, it was like losing a piece of myself. Only then I had the feeling of having a empty place in my heart. Still if I think about him. I cry. He's been gone since feb 2015. This year I decided to adopt a new puppy. Makes me so happy. They bring so much love and joy in my life.
When I picked up my puppy for the first time from the breeder he immediately fell asleep on my lap. it was 12 years of bliss from then on.

I live alone with my dad after my mom passed away tragically. It works for both of us and I'm lucky to have him. It's been almost 10 years and our little guy Gusto the chewennie is always there to cheer us up when we feel bad. He is so in tune with us and knows our emotions. Whenever I feel bad I will scoop him up and he'll lay right next to me full of affection. He's getting old now, just turned 12 and I know one day I'll have to say goodbye and I dread that day. Dogs just have a kinship with us that is beyond any other.
Two years ago my husband of 58 yrs married died. Eight months ago I got a female toy poodle puppy. Josie sleeps next to me and as she grew she chose me, not just because I feed her, she loves and trusts me. I needed her because I was used to be needed and cherished. I’d be so lonely without this soft five lb. furbaby.

I can't even begin to describe just how much I love my dog. There is nothing, and I mean absolutely NOTHING, I wouldn't do for her either.
My mother's dog..Chaz..goes wild when he sees me, every weekend bar 1or2 I visit my mother & Chaz is all me, I don't spoil him with treats, infact rarely, he greats me with a snarling smile, & doesn't leave my side for the 2 or 3 hours I'm there. I always take him a walk & play with him, & when he interacts with commands I treat him...no one not even my mother gets a look in while I'm there, though its only a few hours at the weekend, saying that I do enjoy the love from him & always show my love back...he's a Yorkshire Terrier mid size, & I love him to bits

Our little dog Ella must really love us both cause she does a lot of the things mentioned in this video. If my partner's been out she gets so excited to see him and runs around him with her tail wagging when he gets home, and when I get home after going out she comes over to greet me and get a clap (sometimes with a toy in her mouth wanting me to play). She watches our every move, lets us both hug her if she's in the mood for a hug, and if my partner falls asleep on the couch she curls up next to him and will cuddle up with me sometimes if I'm watching TV on the couch while my partner's out.

My puppers is so sweet, he genuinely loves the whole family; aging and jumping to welcome us when we arrive home at different times. He licks and cuddles and will move back and forth between my significant other and I all night depending on his temperature. I am the warm one....
I knew I was my dog's favorite person from the moment we chose each other. When I went to adopt my dog, my aunt went with me. I was choosing between him & his brother. When I held his brother, he gave me kisses. He gave my aunt more kisses than me. When I held my dog, he was way more enthusiastic kissing me than he was with my aunt. I knew he preferred me. That sealed the deal. He always chooses me over anyone else. He lets me get away with things that he doesn't let anyone else do, like touching his tail. No matter how excited he is to see other people, it doesn't last long. He can be snuggled up getting the belly rub of his life. As soon as I sit down, he immediately gets up & comes to me for affection. He licks my tears away when I cry. He snuggles into my back at night. He follows me everywhere. He's absolutely amazing! My best friend ever!!

Between me and my fiancé, our dog chooses me. She’s a huge mama’s girl. She’s such a love bug. Even though he is the one that feeds her, I am the one that plays with her and snuggles and spends time with her. Also I was the first one she laid eyes on in the shelter. We made a connection. I love her more than I love my fiancé lol. But our dog Luna is amazing!

The way my dog comforts me is by barking at me for a bit and then if a grab him so I can pet him (this relaxes me) he just sits down then waits for me to feel better.
My dog shows his love for me is when we just next to each other just hanging out and some times he’ll take naps right on top of me and he also likes to play with me as if I was another dog

My husky has been an anchor in my life. Has always cured all that is wrong with me by his simple presence and pure love. My husky has befriended nearly the entire neighborhood and has helped a small girl get over her fear of dogs and I never even knew it. He has a large yard fenced in and everyone stops to say hello to him. He is a miracle
I could be wrong but I actually do believe my Pitt could be perfectly happy with another family provided there is a stay at home adult there like with me...he's fed well and allowed to relieve himself at least once to twice a day.
I think he could be unhappy too if a family left him alone all day and forgot to walk him. I'm not perfect but it would depend on the family. I think he'd totally love a car to go more places to. He'd totally upgrade if he could lol 😂
However, I believe I'll someday have a dog with a once in a lifetime connection. I do believe my current dog might be that type...but time will tell. I do believe I have the best dog in the world. I'd love a future dog to stick to my side without me trying hard....you can't fake special connection...I will see as time goes on. My dog is starting to look back to see where I am on walks and I guess it sounds like I'm dying when I laugh...he comes to check on me ....I need a different laugh 😂😁

My little silky, Lester chose me as his person, even though I didn’t always deserve his devotion...I am a busy single mother and nurse. Sometimes I got impatient. But he was my shadow for 17 years, and I always promised to be at his side should the need arise...as it did in December of 2020. He got out and was unfortunately hit by a car, and so injured that we needed to put him down. With a broken heart, I held my little fur boy, with his drugged eyes( for the pain) staring at me with such love. I softly whispered “it’s ok baby, you can run free now, mommy will come find you when it’s time”...Lester always ran to me for comfort when he was afraid of thunder, black cats, balloons...all the terrifying stuff. He even attacked a brother in law of mine whom he thought was hurting me once...he was my hero! I was the one who made him feel safe...so as hard as it was to do, I knew he would not be afraid if I was holding him while he took his last breaths. It was painfully beautiful. He totally loved and trusted me. I was not always worthy, but that is the wonder of dogs...they are a gift to us. Thank you sweet Lester❤️
