Japanese scientists from the Department of Animal Science and Biotechnology at Azabu University along with specialists from other Japanese universities conducted a study that showed how dogs develop strong emotional connections with humans by staring into their eyes!
Dogs are pack animals by nature, which makes them seek closeness with their pack - and you are naturally one of them! Specialists believe that dogs lean and touch their owners for physical and emotional support, seeing them as someone who can protect and comfort them.

- Specialists believe that dogs lean and touch their owners for physical and emotional support, seeing them as someone who can protect and comfort them.
- Dog training experts, including Sarah Bartlett from Hound Helpers Ltd, are sure that you should never go over a dog's head and try to pet them this way since they naturally perceive it as a threatening gesture.
- If your dog feels calm whenever you leave the house, it's a sign that your buddy trusts you and knows for sure that you'll come back.
- When you come home, your dogs’ emotions start certain processes in their bodies, increasing the social hormone oxytocin and decreasing the stress hormone cortisol.

I agree with this. I was always frowning and with poker face everytime I go outside to meet people and to work because I don't like to be with people. Even their presence is making me stressed. I'm not myself and being true to myself when I'm outside. I don't feel relaxed and happy. But when I always go home with my two little babies Coco and Bella, I was energized and filled with joy. I can be myself again. To cuddle and kiss them and they will return it with lovely cuddles and lick. I love it. I hate my depression and social anxiety disorder. And my dogs are my antidote for this toxic mess I have in my brain..

I’m literally watching this with my dog, Nikko, and I have cookies out, and he’s leaning on me, yawned when I yawn, I’m petting his head, he stares at me constantly and always sleeps with me. He does have severe separation anxiety, which we are working on. He was a rescue but he rescued me. Truly!❤️ and if I kinda dog bark “I Wuv You Mama” at him he mocks me! He’s been posted on Facebook and he told me that on my birthday, Saturday the 30th, in the morning like he knew it was my birthday when I woke up! He Also knows when I’m about to have a seizure. He goes in circles and sits. And he licks me. He knew when I had a deadly heart problem and was in a fibrillation because he would lick my chest and lay his head or paw on my chest, like “Mom go to the hospital!! This is bad!!” He’s an American Staffordshire terroir mixed with Mastiff. To most, he’s a big scary looking dog, but to me, he’s my everything!❤️
My late sister's dog always leaning on me wherever i go inside their house. She's like my bodyguard. Her name is Hershey. She passed away last 2018. I really missed her so much and i hope that we will meet again in afterlife.

I tried to yawn in front of my dog to see if she would yawn back, but she stuck her tonque in my mouth.
Sometimes a dog yawns when it is stressed. Notice when he is around strangers or in any uncomfortable situation.

I Loved Dogs when I was a Child but my early adulthood I wasn't into owning a animal. However now I'm old I got a small dog and couldn't see my life without him for he brings me as much joy as I bring him. He goes almost everywhere I go and we both get separation anxiety when we can't be together.

Science needs to work in extending the life of a dog.
I thought about that. God did it right. Dogs are too perfect. Many dogs would live fifty years of abuse. No dog should endure that. Thank GOD dogs have short lives.

Dude seriously :( my mastiff is ten and people keep telling me that's as old as they're supposed to get but he's still so full of life I refuse to believe it... We take such good care of him and he's the sweetest pup ever but I'd be lyin if I said that if I found the fountain of youth I'd drink it myself. Three years ago, I lost my best friend. Bailey, a beagle mix, he died on the operating table. I got to see him for a little bit while they were prepping. The doctor told me that he noticed a spike in his health once he saw me and I got to spend some time with him. After I left it dropped and he died. Three years later and I'm still heartbroken.

My dog, Shiloh, died December 24 just a few days ago. It hurts more knowing that she didn’t even make it till Christmas, and especially when it’s supposed to be a joyful season. Instead, it turned into a horrible nightmare. She brought peace into our family and brought us closer together (as we were distant towards each other), just like the meaning behind her name (Shiloh means peace in Hebrew). I even thought of naming her Shiloh and coincidentally (or not) my brother already decided to name her that without even knowing that I wanted it as her name too. I believe she was a gift from God. And it’s like a part of me died along with her, but I hope to see her again and getting lots of belly rubs from God
Wow man, I also had a beagle named bailey who passed. He lived 15 years which is around 3/4 of my life. He just lost all of his energy and wanst living the quality of life. I am just happy of all the funny memories he gave me throughout my life.

When i adopted my pittie from the shelter it took a ling time before she let me pet her head. Shecwas unfortunately extremely abused,horrific things were done to her. Surprisingly she was immediately affectionate and loved cuddles and sleeping with me though. One day we were sitting together and i realized i had been absent mindedly petting her head with no issues ever since. It made me get teary eyed and i feel so blessed she trusts me completely now!

I had rescued a pittie at one point that was also abused on so many levels. Theyre super sweet dogs and incredibly loyal if you treat them with love. I miss her a lot, we had to put her to sleep earlier this year because she got old and had some rough health issues that made her miserable.

Also, if a dog rolls onto their back near you, it shows trust. It’s because when they do that, they are exposing their belly, including their vital organs. When they roll onto their back near you, you know that they love and trust you. Also if they sleep near you or close their eyes in general. Both of these show that your dog feels comfortable around you and safe.

Dogs are a lot smarter than they get credit for many times. My Catahoula hound Jakie, knows when I'm feeling really down and in tears. He looks me right in the eyes with a very expressive look, like what's wrong mum. He then simply jumps up and puts his front paws on my shoulders and licks my face with tears and all. That is a very special dog to care so much that he'd want to lick up my tears. Not even people's partners will comfort them in times of need.

Every morning when waking up, my dog will hop on my chest and start cradling his head into my neck for morning cuddles. Then I get face kisses. My best friend is a dog and she becomes crazily happy when I come to visit her. Her joy is contagious. She forgets everything else and goes around and around the house with tail swinging and toy in her mouth and wants my unconditional attention. When I pet her she licks my arm for the return. She wants me to be the one who takes the leash when we go for a walk, othervice she can become difficult but is so calm and obedient walking next to me when I'm around lol.
The owner says she is never that way with other people, alltho friendly she is for most people but we have special bond.

Sleeps on futon beside our bed......our sharpie that passed away had her own room...we miss her so much...so our minibernedoodle gets overly spoiled! My Puppy did all those things and expressed his love to me. I miss him so much, I wish he never ever left us. We lost him to Parvovirus recently.

On this last May 4th. I had to put my 15 year old little Sassy down . I cry every day as i miss my baby girl soooo much. Im a grown man and my Sassy for me ? Was the pet and companion of a lifetime. I miss her so much, i wish i could keep her forever. I know she is no longer suffering amd struggling to breathe she suffered with congestive heart failure and level 4 heart murmur but while getting oxygen on the night i lost her she also suffered a cardiac arrest. I love that girl so much and now my life is empty without her greeting me every day that i walk in . Or kisses and snuggles she was such a pretty girl to me. R.I.P. my little girl Sassy . I love you Sassy.
My 14 year old golden retriever passed away in his sleep on May 1st, 2019. I feel your pain. It's so hard to lose a beloved dog. They are family.

To Vincent parlance......... I suffered too when my girl. Died. I raised my girl from a puppy. So I know what you mean. It is one of the hardest things in my life I understand I wish you comfort. And know that you made her life good. She knew she was loved

vincent parlante So sorry for you. I had to have my beloved JackJack put to sleep a while back. He had kidney failure, he wasn’t suffering at the time but was going downhill. So, as I couldn’t bear the thought of him being in pain and being distressed we took him to the vets. He also had arthritis in his spine and movement was becoming restricted. It’s the last act of love. He was seventeen and had a good, good life. I now have another one, same breed, American Eskimo, she’s cute beyond words, but naughty, she’ll calm down in a few tears I’m told. I had the old one cremated and his ashes rest next to my late husband’s. They were great pals.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
My old dog used to say 'I love you' and it was very clear in English, he was the best dog ever and was great emotional support
