CORNISH WALK - Flushing to Mylor

  • Join us on a beautiful autumn morning as we explore Flushing and Mylor. Both villages are on the River Fal and the walk follows the path along the river, stunning views of Falmouth.
    There is plenty of activity on the Fal and around the marina at Mylor. We also explore the church guided by a 1960s Ward Lock Red Guide, a tourist book from that era. The fun really begins when we try to find our way back!

    Cornwall at its best....Lovely, relaxing, and a most enjoyable video. Lovely to see the Doggies as well, they are certainly the stars of the show. Thank you for sharing, another charming video.

    The beauty of Cornwall is that one day you can walk along rugged cliffs, another day big sandy beaches and the next day beautiful estuaries and woods - and then you have inland walks on moors too! The Fal estuary is such an interesting and lovely place, thanks for the video.

    Sitting in Canada watching you two and have been to Mylor Church many times. Coming from Falmouth it gives me goose bumps!! Mylor Bridge is great too......over the fields to Pandora Inn!! Thanks so much for these wonderful videos.......And seeing the Redwings (think that’s what they are called) racing.....done that too!

      The light on Falmouth was glorious and this is one of my favourite childhood haunts! Also the walk from Mylor Bridge to Pandora - wonderful! We have had a drink or two on the jetty and just watched the world float by! Certainly a walk on our 'to do' list! Sarah :)

    Hi Sarah and Andrew! Beautiful walk with lots of gorgeous little spots along the way ,we have a town not so far from us named Flushing as well!! I really thought the spot where you said you used to take your kids fishing was just such a picturesque little place ! And what a wide variety of shells to be had at the one location,that would be a crafters dream spot if they were into shell art and jewelry! The fur boys seemed to have a lovely walk and a lot of fun ,great to see them . We just returned from seeing the new animated version of the Grinch,it was a good way to start the holiday season 🎄I hope you all have great weekend,sending happiness to you and your family,Lori

      The weather has been rough, strong winds, lashing rain and high seas. Despite that we went to Mousehole for lunch where the waves were crashing over the breakwater, not even high tide at that point!! We are getting our little cottage ready for the decorations to go up - lots of cleaning! I am looking forward to the tree! Sarah :)

    Hi Sarah & Andrew, this has to be up in the top 10 percent of your beautiful walks. It is such a lovely area, and definitely one we intend visiting on our trip to Cornwall next year. Andrew does grumpy so well - almost as well as John! Thank you for another amusing and fantastic video. Hope you did not get blown away yesterday/last night - it was very rough here in W Sussex.

    Hi Sarah and Andrew Great fun as usual and a beautiful walk on a lovely day. We haven't explored this area of Cornwall much so would definitely like to see more of it next time we visit, it looks really nice especially in that sunshine .Love it that you don't hide the fact that you get lost like the rest of us do sometimes. Do you end up having a little argument like me and my other half do sometimes when we go wrong, would love to see that on the video, ha.ha !!! Great scarecrow Andrew, laughed out loud when I saw you stood there, very funny . Thanks again, hope you are enjoying your weekend despite awful weather today. Bets

      Lovely part of Cornwall with loads of fantastic views. I think on this occasion we kind of knew where we were and so we were not overly worried. I could afford to be smug because Andrew had got it wrong - HeHe! When we get lost lost, then it's a different matter!! Of course we argue then!! The weather has been really dire but we went to Mousehole on Friday to watch the waves coming in which was a bit of fun! Sarah :)

    Its not very convenient that the flushing is far away from Looe ... ...Great video...Been a few time when i lived in Falmouth, Used to have lots of shells my granddad was talented at making sandmen and all sorts of things out of them......Take care xx Was always told to be careful of strange men coming out of bushes

      @@CornishWalkingTrails Hi Sarah! I am well, thank you :) You two look really well ;-) I will celebrate Christmas Eve at home with my oldest son and his family this year. My other son and his family will be with his family-.in-law. We have the main celebration on Christmas Eve here in Norway, with traditional dinner and gifts. Christmas Day is more a day for getting together for brunch or coffee and cakes :) But ahead of that; there will be an evening with gingerbread house making and decorating :) I will send you some pics in a PM later :) Torunn.

      That sounds really homely and family focussed! I love the sound of that. I am sometimes dismayed by the commercialisation of Christmas - I saw an advert today for real Christmas trees being sold already. When I was child we put our tree up on Christmas Eve!! Sarah :)

      @TravellingTorunn 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CornishWalkingTrails The trees sold today will probabaly lose all their needles before Christmas..... Such a shame. We took it in the day before Christmas Eve and decorated it that day when I was little. And we still do :)

    I know this walk well having spent a few holidays in a house on the the road to Mylor harbour, a lot of money's worth tied up in that harbour. The lane uphill through the wood you walked is full of wild garlic in the spring, the smell will knock your head off, well worth a revisit just for the smell. Your film gives me so many memories, thank you for that.
