My grandmother was born in Cornwall in 1895 and her father and uncle were miners. She emigrated to the US when she was 12 years old. In 1979 she and I traveled back there to visit her cousins. The cousins took us on a road trip all over Cornwall - it was a wonderful trip. So much to see - and so much we didn't have time to see. Thank you for this video!

I returned from another trip to Cornwall just last week as I had bever been back since making this video way back in 2021. It was beautiful (cold in October), but we loved being back again and delving deeper into Cornwall

Grab a mountain bike and cycle the Mineral Tramways, 40 miles of off road cycle trails around the Truro, Camborne, Redruth and Portreath area and it's completely free including parking at Devoran, South Wheal Frances and a few other places. Lots of places to eat and drink, also take in the spectacular views from the summit of Carn Marth and Carn Brea if you're feeling fit.

Love a Cornwall holiday. We had a beautiful walk around Zennor headland and a drink in the Tinners pub afterwards and a look around the little church with the mermaids chair. We like St Ives with all the fab beaches. We enjoy the Mount and never bore of a visit. Tintagel Castle is even better now I think with the new bridge making it a bit easier to get to. The scenery from the Minack Threatre and the Porthcurno beach are awesome. We like the Eden Project but its always in my mind how man made it is. We like places like Trerice house - beautiful garden in the summer. We like Mousehole for a little visit and Sennen Cove etc. We also like Perranporth - especially when it had the Ponsmere Hotel! Sadly now demolished. Love the watering Hole. So much to mention .... new ideas are always good

Thanks for this. I wanted to say that when you comment at 7:35 that you can't narrow it down in terms of which beaches are best for surfing in Cornwall - it's the north coast where people surf. South coast hardly has waves at all.

I spent 2 weeks in Cornwall last summer and the beauty of this area is just incredible. I vlogged all of the trip and hoping to come back for another 2 weeks to hopefully finish exploring the whole region! I find it so hard to narrow it dow to a list of only 15-20 places as there is so so much! Loved the presentation of this video Alex! :D

It was so difficult to narrow everything down! I only stayed for just over 1 week so there were definitely so many things I didn't see, the next time I head back to Cornwall if like to explore around the St. Ives area and definitely do some more surfing as well!

A lot of smug rich people go to places like St Ives and pretend they actually live there for two weeks. Second home owners are the worst. They should be outlawed. Seriously, locals cant afford properties and a total ban on second home ownership in Cornwall is needed. The situation is so bad id even go as far to say that ALL housing should then be sold to only those with a Cornwall connection because of the unique problems with affordability there. Set the policy for reassessment every five years. Prices would gradually drop, the nicer tourists would still visit which it needs but at least it would start to stabilise the housing market there.

Great video. You need to visit the most southerly point in the U.K., Lizard point on the Lizard peninsula and Kynance cove. Look out for the serpentine rock, unique to the area. Oh and get a Roskilly’s Icecream at St Keverne if you go to that way, yum. I’m biased, I live in the area. 😁 Avoid July and August if you can, you will get around much easier.

I was a tour guide of Cornwall.. My thoughts.
Eden Project. Great but by god it’s expensive!
Lost Gardens. Amazing and well worth a visit
Tintagel Castle. Please stop! It’s an island where the castle used to be. There is no castle! Statue is cool though…
Merlins cave.. If your in to that kind of thing I suppose..
Golitha falls are great, again worth a visit. Quite the walk though..
Polperro. Lovely little village, great for a cream tea.
Charlestown. Known by most from the Poldark series.
Wheal Coates.. Pick a good day as views are stunning. Chapel Porth beach will get stupidly busy in summer!
Hurlers Stone Circle. As he said great walk.. But personally I prefer the Merry Maidens
Trevethy quoit. Don’t go out of your way for it.. Day on the moors… yea ok
St Michaels Mount. If it was a day like video go on a good day! Again stupidly busy during peak season.
Falmouth.. I drive through it. 😂
Loads of so many nice places to visit in Cornwall though.. Enjoy. Surprised you didn’t mention St Ives..

Cornwall is the most unwelcoming destination anyvwhere in the UK in my opinion. Their tourist board 3 years ago asked people to stay away and when I have visited there I got the impression that visitors were decidedly unwelcome. I will never go there again. Who wants to go where you are not wanted. Give them what they want and remove their tourist income, that is what I am going to do.

You ask most Cornish people what are 16 best things to do in Cornwall, they'll just list 16 different illegal drugs.
