We’re looking for a revolution of thought, where citizens realise that they’re not tenants in Kenya - it’s their country, it’s their responsibility to ensure that things change. One of the reasons why we have bad leadership is because we elect those leaders. Citizens need to realise their power. Once you watch Softie the film. Comment. Organise a watch party and a discussion with your friends. Please share. Let’s fix Kenya.

    1. Listen to his manifestos, totally made sense and extremely realistic.
    2. Bonnie was his own chief campaigner. He was willing to take time to interact with Kenyans.
    3. He publicly shows the kind of father and husband he is, imagine this kind of love being transfered to us as citizens.
    4. He knows exactly what's going on around him and you can see how it affects him emotionally.
I can't think of anyone seating in parliament with such qualities.
We need to snap out of this ignorance we have embraced over time due to the messed up "leadership" in the country.

Firstly, this film is about LOVE. A man loves his kids so much that he wants a better country for them. And he pays for it. Secondly, we get the raw depiction of who really WE Kenyans and our relationship with their politicians. It is sad state of affairs! Lastly, I understand the burden that Njeri have to carry and the children. Her voice is drowned and she has to live in the shadows of her husband! But the courage to protect her nest is overwhelmingly motivating!

The voters are thinking too shallow, they’d rather vote for someone who gives them 100 bob for one day and then forget them for 5 years. I have lived in the UK since I was 9 years old. I am watching this familymentary (documentary) and I am in awe of you Boni. As someone who does not know my home country Kenya well, this film has left me mixed with emotions. The 3 most memorable parts are: when the guys started ripping the ghastly aftermath pictures of post election violence (they suffer from Stockholm syndrome); when the voters were asking for money and insulting you for not providing it; when the stupid woman cop shot you and started laughing (the level of impunity and toxicity in her ugly face). Boni, you have done enough and you owe Kenya nothing, Kenyans however, owe every gratitude there is. Thank you to you, your family and those that stood by you.

I have come here after the CTA interview. The documentary is very educative. The pple of this country do not deserve boni. He has fought too much for them to the point that he forgets abt his family. This film shows the ills in this country which we the citizens are ignorant towards. I cried watching both the cta interview and this. Njeri is such a supportive partner. Boni wants a better country for the future generations. His dedication, love, honesty, loyalty towards his country is surprising😮. Most people would have taken the quickest ticket out of this country but, not boni. He chose to stay. Such partiotism. I hope that one day Kenya will become a better country and that can only happen if we chose the right leaders with good intentions for Kenyans like boni.

    • @abocas

I came here, too, after watching the CTA interview.
I am not Kenyan but have stayed in Kenya for 13. + years.
And Boniface Mwangi was the first activist that I learned about. Followed him on FB and X since I came here.
This documentary yet again highlights how Kenyans elect their leaders ….. in exchange for a few smart words, 100 sh and at-shirt or a packet of unga. How is that going to change their lives?? Why do Kenyans not learn?
And we are seeing it again with the vetting of the nominated CSs. It is so sad that the masses keep going down rabbit holes.

Kenya is an interesting country. The people of Kenya don't even know the power they have. Personally I contributed the the Boniface Mwangi campaign regardless of not being a Starehe constituent simply because I knew the power of our votes. The power of having the ability to vote a great leader like Boniface into parliament. The people of Starehe will go down in history as the fools who had the opportunity to make something out of the power in their hands but they lost it.
We are grateful for you Bonnie. For all that you do for our country.
Njeri, you stand in same the league as Winnie Mandela, Wangari Mathaai, Mekatilili wa Menza and the rest.

Watching this, I'm reminded of a conversation I had with someone about the upcoming election. We as a country are being held hostage by our politicians and being forced to vote for someone not because they are are a good leader who has our country's best interests at heart, but because they are the lesser of 2 evils. People keep saying they will vote for the 'lesser' evil unless someone better runs for office and yet when someone tries to be the better leader and the leader that we say we are waiting for, we still pick the person we know is the worst option. And that makes me scared for the future of my country.

"The identity in Kenyan politics is not nationalism, patriotism, core values or a bigger vision for a better Kenya. The identity of this country is tribe.Your last name defines you."
How sad that is,Boni really found a way to lay bare our bigotry as Kenyans and enabling us confront the ugly truth that occured in 2007.
This film is about revolution, love and family. How we are skin and Kin and how we eventually forget that.
    Every Kenyan should watch this💯

What do you mean by "Made me want to be an activist".You should be one!!!it doesn't have to be in a big way like vying for parliament or protesting (although this is definitely encouraged)but rather in ways such as posting this documentary all over your socials or kemearing an individual you find who still thinks all the political elite in this video, and those related to them are still relevant!!!And also joining proper political parties like the Ukweli party and contributing to their course. That in itself will make you an activist. It's the small gestures that matter.A revolution is spread through radicalizing your friends and family.Viva la revoluton!!!!

Bonnie is a true leader and whom I can describe as ' Mkenya mzalendo'!!! God have mercy on Kenya and we Kenyans at large, coz until we say enough is enough, the 'ukuta' to built is MASSIVEEE!!!!!
