I bought the access to the Color Grading Academy for Davinci & Cinema grade, and I have to say it is worth 10x the price. The best way to salute such a job is to promot it from the heart. Thanks man ! Keep on going. And for you who watch theses videos, don't be afraid to go to the next step : give a little bit of money, you will save a lot of time.
I think the best advice I ever got was to pick a tool, like the qualifier, and just spend an entire day getting to know it inside and out. go through all those OTHER options in the tool you NEVER use and play with them, get familiar. its amazing, I spent 2 hours a night doing this and by the end of the week I was blown away with how much power is available and all the things I never knew was possible. you get those "no waaaaaay" moments.

I have your Cinema Grade tool. Excellent color grading tool. What really helped me was your skin fix technique using the Color Compressor. When I shoot in Sony S-Cinetone, it puts a lot of yellow in my skin. But, with the Color Compressor, I get rid of all that. Thanks so much for all of these techniques.
The color space transform stuff is blowing my mind. As someone who didn't go to school for film but is making a living off video, TH-cam tutorials like this are priceless -- thank you for sharing your knowledge! Even using Sony's first-party SLog3 to s709 LUTs, I have felt like I've been losing data when converting my 10bit FX3 footage to rec709... excited to see what this will unlock for my color grading :)
That is very kind of you, thanks for the comment Jasper :)

To evade probable misconceptions, CST part of this video needs more robust explanation. The thing is, you need to be on non-color managed timeline for this to work properly and I recon if you haven't gone through project settings -> color management and changed it, you're likely to end up with more problems and things are gonna feel much more obscure. I would have to write pretty hefty tutorial, so I rather guide you towards awarded colorist Darren Mostyn and his incredible tutorials. No ads, no long intros, no bull*hit. This one will give you pretty comprehensive understanding of RCM (resolve color management) in 10 minutes: th-cam.com/video/8geDbNpH5cI/w-d-xo.html And this is more comprehensive tutorial on different CST methods: th-cam.com/video/c4AVwVdKTHc/w-d-xo.html
I'm searching about how to unclock turbo mode with davinci resolve. The reviews in this video are very detailed and helpful, helping me gain more knowledge about this! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent contribution friend, the explanation is absolutely clear and consistent, it helps me a lot with this information, since I really needed it, thanks.
It's also really important for the CST to go in the right place in the node structure... usually at the end so your adjustments happen BEFORE the mathmatical transform.
These tips are incredible! How do you determine the proper color space transform to input? Specifically, I'm wondering about log footage from an Autel Evo 2 pro drone. I'm told it is 10-bit "A-log" footage, but I don't see "A-log" as an option.
Great tips, that colour compressor is new to me, it's gonna be a game changer! Beautiful looking frame you have as well, looks super high quality, great colours etc. Seems too good for TH-cam in some respects!
Is Cinemagrade a single install for all apps or do I have to buy a different version for each NLE? I do have it for Final Cut, but I recently switched to Resolve.
The color matching tip at 2:35 does not work. You can try this by transforming a clip from red -> rec709 and then the same clip from red -> arri -> rec709. It will give the same result. Resolve even seems to loose a bit of dynamic range with the extra math.
does cinemagrade works fine when using a73, cine.4? =) - like, also, sorry for ask but what profiles should I choose when adding the "CST" node? getting ready my CC! =D
A lovely video, really informative and very interesting, 100% recommendations and really helps anyone in long-term doubts and projects, delighted with its content..,,.
If we use two color space transform and covert red footage in arri log c to rec709 . Then where should we put our grading nodes? Between these to color space transform or before these two nodes ? Example red to arri logc then arri logc to rec709 . Can i apply my correction and grading nodes before these two nodes and keep them last ? Or should i keep red to arri log c first and do my entire grading and last nodes arri log c to rec709 ? Please help

He did a very good job imo. Explaining the basics step by step. English is not my first language and I have no experience in using DAWs
The banding wipe at the beginning was the greatest since it all went to 8-bit for TH-cam and thus there was zero discernable difference 😆
This video is amazing. I just found out about you last night and already watched all your videos. Your hilarious.
