With that in mind I have I have explained many of these concepts to my 2 sons. I have taken great care not to make them cynical but to ta least get them aware and thinking. Some I fully agree, some I have nuances. The family thing, when it's a been a while and it's serious, if she is a family gal, what exactly is wrong in meeting the family? Not everything is grind and money. And it can be eye opening to meet them, plus if you have them liking you it's a plus. As for wasting our time and having us spend money on things we wouldn't, while almost all women will do that (they are crazy spenders and time wasters!), the test is seeing if she does that maliciously/because she is shallow/etc. or if she does it with a naïve good heart.
