Bro please do more videos with the TR09. Share some of your patterns and tricks. Amazing how you're actually making patterns live respect man !!!! Love that distortion sound too sounds sick!
Oh my lord... this shit is really fuckin` amazing, you are beating the crap live outta that little box like Jeff Mills does on the Original TR 909... grande rispetto, Signiore Cerrato :-)
ugh. This is so cool. I'm familiar with the Roland way of programming only via Propellerhead (Rebirth and Reason), and only about programming static rhythms, and never a live jam thing like this. I've unfortunately have never been hands-on with their hardware. I ordered a used TR-09 earlier today because I want to try making my own synthpop (check Pansentient Synthpop). I understand the basic programming, but /this video/ has me pumped to learn what it is really capable of doing. I need it now. =D
It wasn't that great, dude. Very generic, meat and potatoes. Not at all imaginative. TBH This is an outright copy of Jeff Mills style of jamming on the 909, but without Mills' special touch. Unfortunately, so many biters have come along and hijacked the Detroit style, it's lost most of it's enchantment. It's all been done so many times before, it's getting to the point of being comical, like kids in the 80's doing note for note copies of Yngwie Malmsteen guitar solos.
Fin Glaeser already got it mate! Put the Tanzbär through a moog filter and that sounds pretty damn dope! Only thing with the Tanzbär is that its to small! And the build quiality is perhaps not the best... but the sound!
haha stani ! ich hätZ och so jemacht ..... 2005 :) aber ey jut is es :) frach mich nuahR ob der jenauso rockt wie die orginal 909 ? so vom sound un so ? bei diahr klingt das teil jut :)
It's cool if you know how to build it but most people lack the tools and skills of such a DIY; and without you'll pay an extra grand for a kit that's already put together by a third party that you have no guarantee that they themselves adequately put it together. I wouldn't buy one of these though used as people want $500 to $1k for these things and they have serious limitations even once connected to a DAW. Behringer RD9 is the best option and you won't need hamster fingers to operate it.
Hello friend, a doubt, for the creation of this video, did you use the default rhythms that already come with the paper box, or did you download some MIDI?
People who believe in the mythical power of an original TR909 are the same poor bastards who are willing to pay irrational amounts of money. (many) Blind tests have proven that no one can tell the difference between an original and 909 samples or 909 reproductions. And that goes for 303's, 106's, Jupiter 8's, Minimoogs, and many more. ...vintage is a myth. The only reason to buy and spend money on vintage is when you are a collector. This is the best proof. It's all about the cook. Not the kitchen.
Finally someone who can demonstrate the full potential of this machine thank you buddy 👍👍🙏🙏🙏
This would rock any club anywhere . Jeff mills would be proud of you mate that's fucking pure Detroit techno
The Robert Hood clap pattern is just perfect, nailed it 🙏
Definition of techno

That was brilliant. I can't believe its less than 20 mins long. You really packed a lot into that short time.
Thanks a lot man!
Awesome Job!
I tried to keep up but I gave up half way. Next time. Great Job putting on that techno set. Jeff Mills would be proud.

I can hardly consider this a copy of Jeff Mills style on the 909 and I think this is great.
ejotacero because you obviously know nothing about Mills or Detroit Techno.
BETTER OFF CORSE
Respect BrO
its funny, own a dr-220e and dr-110e. They sound amazing, especially the dr-220e. And they are 32 years old haha, and only costed me 50 bucks.

In order to mute/unmute you need to keep pressing the mute button? Or there is a latch mode?
There's no latch mode

Hell yeah!! I wanna buy this box.
Nice! How does it stand compared to the Tanzbär?
Fin Glaeser already got it mate! Put the Tanzbär through a moog filter and that sounds pretty damn dope! Only thing with the Tanzbär is that its to small! And the build quiality is perhaps not the best... but the sound!
Two different drums, two different sounds ;) for me is not comparable
Kick of tanzbar better 100% sure
Amazing demonstration, thank you for sharing

Does people know the Nava Extra 9? It is a TR909 clone and makes good result vs price (DIY)....
It's cool if you know how to build it but most people lack the tools and skills of such a DIY; and without you'll pay an extra grand for a kit that's already put together by a third party that you have no guarantee that they themselves adequately put it together.

what effect or pedal are u using on this?
Soundcraft mixer saturation
Hi ! Do you mean by that that you just cranked up the input on the mixer ?

no synths required!
sounds good and very well played but sounds very distorted at points
That's the whole point of the early Detroit sound!
