Those thick mixes had nothing to do with the gear I’m afraid. Don’t be deceived. That was all additional analog gear those “machines” were being played through. Preamps, compressors, limiters, mixing boards then mastering processing equipment after they were mixed down. Same thing with old school hip hop and rap. Keep thinking. You’re on the right path.
ACIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED! Was there in 1988, living in Chiswick West London, having been mad into Electro, when all of a sudden a new sound hit. The fashion, the music, the fucking DRUGS, man, it was one fucking amazing time to be young. Best thing, as an 18-year-old, my first port of call after getting paid was various record shops all over London, until I found Vinyl Mania where I made my home, buying up £100`s worth of grooves every Friday. Still have my record collection and feel a night of 303 driven acid house coming on. My Missus is gonna HATE it!
@@EccentricDeep I will Brother. Missus has hinted once twice at the monetary value and the amount of space my precious plastic takes up. Nah. Just nah. The records, their beats, the meanings and memories entwined in each groove can never be matched by mere money. Raver for life! Well, Raver at heart, I turned 50 last month!!! 😬
You are not good for my wallet! I keep telling myself "I have the Volca NuBass, I don't need a TR-03 as well", but you show me how awesome two 303 style boxes can be together! Great work!
Get the Behringer TD 3! Way more bang for your buck and honestly truer sounding than Roland's digital remake! The build quality is the only thing it lacks but you cannot go wrong with the price tag
I remember Hardfloor having 8 original 303's and doing this stuff live, incredible. I did have Prodigy's original 303 but it got nicked, I also had an original TB303 with carry case in new condition but sold it a while back now, wish I hadn't! Wicked Jam loved it!
Well done man! Proper builds and legend vibe! #Banger ! This inspired me to hit the studio and create! Thank you! I #Respect from #TimMulvey #NAWDAW #Canada #Linkage !
At 5 minutes in, when you added in the SH, it suddenly jumped my ears, like no one's business! While Roland were the original innovators, Behringer does as much of a superior job.
WHERE is the sidechain bounce coming from on the Behringer 303 clone!? Im building a similar setup like this! Roland aira tr-8 and tb-3, korg microKorg, and EMU XL7 command station. Great. Silly. Fun!
I’m a simple man. I see a great gear setup, I subscribe
Thanks :-)
It's humbling the way that such thick mixes were done with such limited gear. Really makes me feel like I'm overthinking it all.
Thank you :-)
Sometimes it's inspiration through reduction :-)

Limited? Not at all. This is good gear right here
