Those thick mixes had nothing to do with the gear I’m afraid. Don’t be deceived. That was all additional analog gear those “machines” were being played through. Preamps, compressors, limiters,mixing boards then mastering processing equipment after they were mixed down. Same thing with old school hip hop and rap. Keep thinking. You’re on the right path.

Was there in 1988, living in Chiswick West London, having been mad into Electro, when all of a sudden a new sound hit.
The fashion, the music, the fucking DRUGS, man, it was one fucking amazing time to be young.
Best thing, as an 18-year-old, my first port of call after getting paid was various record shops all over London, until I found Vinyl Mania where I made my home, buying up £100`s worth of grooves every Friday. Still have my record collection and feel a night of 303 driven acid house coming on. My Missus is gonna HATE it!

Get the Behringer TD 3! Way more bang for your buck and honestly truer sounding than Roland's digital remake! The build quality is the only thing it lacks but you cannot go wrong with the price tag

I remember Hardfloor having 8 original 303's and doing this stuff live, incredible. I did have Prodigy's original 303 but it got nicked, I also had an original TB303 with carry case in new condition but sold it a while back now, wish I hadn't! Wicked Jam loved it!
