    Hey, Tech Gio here. Big news - I left my tech sales SDR role, and I'm here to spill the tea on why and what's next.
    In a nutshell: two awesome months turned into chaos, and it was time to say goodbye after six months. Key lesson? Research companies on Repvue.com and Glassdoor before making career moves.
    The exciting part? I've already landed a new SDR role at a different company. Stress-free and pumped for a fresh start. Remember, relationships matter - they can open doors.
    Stay tuned for the journey to becoming an account executive. More updates coming soon. Peace out! ✌️

    Bro, you are very lucky they didn't mind you leaving after 6 months. Typically, companies do NOT want to see someone leaving after 1 year. EDIT: I see that your boss moved to your new company. Makes sense!

    I can relate to this. Because it's so hard to get a job, when you have your first go at a certain position you're so happy to get something you accidentally settle for anything. Then come to find out the company, their direction, expectations, culture, etc aren't on point and you have to jump to a more stable company that's a lot healthier inside and out.

      Landing that first position can feel like such a relief, but sometimes we realize it's not the right fit after all. It's all part of the journey, though. Wishing you the best in finding a company that aligns perfectly with your values and career goals! You've got this!

    Great job. Hey! Do you suggest getting our own laptop, or do these companies supply the laptop for you? And how would you go about telling companies in your interview that you only want remote? Thanks

    • @techgioo
      @techgioo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Great questions. Every company I’ve been with they usually will provide a laptop.
      Second question most companies will have in the job post if it is remote or in-person or hybrid. So it’s totally up to you and your preference!

    Hey @techgioo, I’m looking at the coursecareers Tech sales course (maybe one of the others still researching) but did you have a college degree at all? I don’t have mine but I really want to get my foot in the door. Also, do you know anything about the other courses in cursecareers having success placing people in roles such as software dev, UI/UX design etc etc? I hear theres partner companies hiring from the platform.

    • @techgioo
      @techgioo  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have no college degree. As far as the other courses I would check their TH-cam page and look at some of their success stories. There are so many entry level tech roles out there, I can barely keep up haha.

    hey man! so i’m a junior studying info systems wanting to get into tech sales. i don’t graduate until late 2025 but i want to do something to gain experience so i can land that SDR role easier. If you were in my shoes what would you? Would you start a course like course careers at this time or find some kind of tech sales internship for the summer? What would your game plan be if you were in my shoes.

    • @techgioo
      @techgioo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question! You don’t need much experience. Best way to get started and invest in your skill set is to do course careers like you mentioned. It’s a tech sales bootcamp that is self-paced and teaches you everything you need to know to land a SDR role. It’s what I did to break into tech sales. Make sure to use the link in my bio to save $50 off. Also you can follow me on IG and LinkedIn and I can help you once you get started!
