Watching your Flash videos is the only way I know they are still producing the show as someone who dipped out in Season 3. I was going to say "Godspeed, Ross" but now I realise how hacky that is. Good luck.
I think the problem with the Flash is that if you watched it without sound it would make perfect sense. Like structurally it's very well thought out. If they build a device, or meet a new villain, they fail at the beginning, so they have to learn from that mistake, and get better. Problem is they are trying to be more than a kids cartoon, so the lesson of the episode can't be just "Oh, Chester, your device failed because you didn't listen to your friends. Listening to feedback is very important in improving yourself". So they try to sound more adult and profound and dig a little deeper, and it stinks.
Exactly if someone removed all the background music the season as a whole would be a solid 7.5 also it’s saddening that people really think Eric Wallace is going to give us the finale we all want but he won’t and it’s gonna hit them hard in 9x13

The whole ‘speedster meddles with time and triggers an alien attack with the aliens wanting to kill Barry’ was a lot better when it was the plot of the invasion crossover.
Yesss finally Ross you know you pointed out a lot of things that most TH-camrs who reviewed this season didn’t. Like for example when Chester was straight up acting like a child when Ray turned down the whole pitch meeting and that I personally thought was absolutely ridiculous and I was literally asking myself how old is this guy to be acting like that anyways I think they completely wasted Matt Letscher’s version of Thawne and seriously I can’t tell if you’re being fr about liking Chillblaine because me personally he’s just a joke and honestly Despero and Deathstorm weren’t that bad
Wouldn't be the first time. Remember Oliver's 14 year old that acted like a 5 year old crying about the bad man in his dreams, or Barry's 20-something (or hell maybe even 30) year old daughter who never stopped whining or having tantrums
@@the_competent_gamer9454 exactly I totally forgot about that and again I found that extremely pathetic and to an extent humiliating if you will especially for Nora acting like a child when she was supposed to be an adult but William is no exception he was supposed to be a teenager or at least going into that teenage phase and he acted like a 6 year old so nonetheless they were both cringe
@@ilovezoom3719 yea...ultimately the shows became jus that. Pathetic. They had their issues, but Arrow and Flash's S1-2 were just amazing. After that, they each became repetitive nonsense that were chores to get through
About Damien, yes, definitely showed up on Legends. In season 1 he's a villain they encounter in history, and it's about Sara's struggle not to save her sister. In season 2, he's the Damien before the end of season 4 of Arrow, taken by Reverse-Flash in his team of baddies. In season 3 however the character is brought back to life after his death on Arrow. We learn that on top of his plan on Arrow, he also had his daughter Nora put into a cult for her to become the vessel of a demon. It's more about Damien as a father, and the more it goes on, the more the villainy fades away for fatherhood. We see him work with Ray mostly, who's in love with Nora, and even pretend to torture Nate in a funny scene, where they talk things out. He's still bad but his love for his daughter is stronger and he ends up working with the Legends, even to the point where he was thanksfull to Ray for saving his daughter in an episode. In the ends he does sacrifice himself for her as mentioned on the show. In season 5 multiple souls from Hell are unleashed across times, including of course Damien. Instead of doing villany, he came to check on Nora. Since season 4 she became a fairy godmother, and is dating Ray, which he obviously doesn't like. But he ends up accepting his daughter's path, he doesn't object to Ray proposing to Nora. The episode ends with him leaving the party early, and having a last talk with Sara. They don't fight but say that they still won't ever forgive each other. Damien leaves stealing a Hell weapon, but it turns out that he uses it to send himself back to Hell, as he had no intention to hurt people.
You mean "this time there's 7 colours of lightning in the sky instead of 4 and the entire Flash team are Speedsters instead of just Barry, Iris, Nora, Bart, Speedforce Nora, Jay Garrick and Kid Flash fighting Reverse Flash, Godspeed, Savitar, Zoom, Rival, etc, etc"
Finally someone calling out this season on its BS writing and character beats. It felt like after S7, everyone was calling this season some sort of return to form as if its on par with the first 2 seasons. So it's refreshing to see someone actually saying things how they are rather than calling it good just because they think its an improvement over S7, which was atrocious itself. Eric Wallace has truly made it a kids show meant to be watched by 5-10 year olds.
I really want him to turn into the lightning bolt that strikes him in the pilot. Maybe they could end with the article “flash vanishes in crisis” and we realize that he was always destined to disappear regardless of the Crisis on Infinite earths

I like how CW didn't learn anything and puts 20 episode in flash. Like 3 episode short can change anything. Also the budget is getting lower so why not cut episode to save money?
Barry isn't really the avatar on the speed force. That would be Nora. The woman that looks like Barry's mom. Barry is just connected to the speed force.
Why is the Armageddon Crossover just episodes of the Flash? Normally these crossovers are split between different shows. Also, I like CW suits. With a lot of these it feels like they're not afraid to embrace the goofier looking comic suits, unlike MCU, which downplays a lot of sillier bits of the designs. Like they almost never have Thor wear his helmet.
I kinda thought the end of the show would end in the time loop, with Barry going back in time to stop Reverse Flash from killing his younger self, but at this rate I don’t know if there’s any way they can pull that off, because they’d have to try and rush in a younger reverse flash for Barry to make enemies with again.
They've completely fucked up the setup for that by relying on time travel way too much since season 3. There is no believable setup they can make in 22 final episodes where this version of Barry is too slow to stop a Thawne that has his season 1 speed, Mach 2 at most, from killing his mother. Unless they erase his memory of the last 8 years and simplify the timeline so that he doesn't know that Nora has to die to avoid the events of Flashpoint (the actual proper Flashpoint with the Atlantean-Amazonian war, Thomas Wayne Batman, Test subject prisoner Superman etc), there's no way they can do it. The loop was supposed to close in 2024 with the ORIGINAL Crisis on Infinite Earths tease where Barry would vanish, dying from running too fast while destroying the Antimatter Cannon, disintegrating into Speedforce energy and becoming the lightning bolt that struck him. Instead WB got antsy to push Crisis out to piggyback on Endgame's success before Steven Amell quit playing Green Arrow since the TV shows will never be allowed to use Batman.
I really hate that they can’t do that because it literally would be the perfect thing and the fact that they set it up back in Season 1 but they just messed it up
@@Whiteythereaper exactly this. The moment I realized bow badly they fucked up Crisis, i knew it was over for the arrowverse and just gave up when Arrow ended

i think a show about a consistent fight between two people can be so awesome. jojo is an excellent example of this, and kingpin and daredevil are fantastic rivals. hell the arkham games are mostly just how the joker and batman relate to each other and it’s great. but no this is the flash we can’t have nice things
I am sane enough and conscious enough to know this show has its flaws, some points more than praises. I know the show is bad, but I can't help but love it. Mostly because of nostalgia, and because I watched all of the arrowverse (excluding Batgirl, Superman and Lois, and Stargirl) with my Mom and Dad. These are fond memories I will take with me long after the show's done.
In my opinion, despite it being canceled unfortunately. DC’s legends of tomorrow has basically taken the act of “do bullshit for bullshit” and changed it into actual good entertainment. Their seasons get more and more ridiculous, and they basically have made “do shit cus we want” into an art form. If you go in there looking for a serious show, kind of like how arrow and flasher originally supposed to be starting out, do you want to find much enjoyment. But if you just go in there as a normal viewer, and just watch it without a critique taste. You’ll find each season starting to edge off from being so serious and more fun. There’s plenty of meta-jokes as a joke about crossovers and now they are tired of doing them and a bunch of other funny shit. The connections are actually really well established, and relationships are actually slow burn, not like flash where it’s awkward and seems out of nowhere. I’d highly recommend it.
ok um when you were showing the scene with the atom saving the flash did the atom make the flash smaller? Also 2nd question if he did when was he able to start doing that?! The best thing about Flash is watching Ross' videos on the Flash... and watching it myself because it's funny in intentional and unintentional ways.

Fever dreams are interesting, they swing for the narrative fences.
Flash is more the equivalent of the dull, dreamless Ambien slumber.
Hey, it's The CW Critic! He watches it, so you don't have to!
Thanks for this Ross, you've satisfied my morbid curiosity and saved me hours of misery.
My favorite part of this season was when Barry said “It’s Flashing Time!” and then proceeded to… uh, never mind.

The saving Thawne debate was so stupid: the literal universe conspiring to kill him for what he’s done, they all killed multiple villains before this with absolutely no hang ups, Chester and Allegra tried to equate what they did and being given a second chance to what’s happening with Thawne and finally Joe just comes off as utterly delusional and a hypocrite who ultimately gives Barry and Iris an ultimatum.
Watching your Flash videos is the only way I know they are still producing the show as someone who dipped out in Season 3.
I was going to say "Godspeed, Ross" but now I realise how hacky that is.
Good luck.
I liked when Flash said "It's Flashin' time" and flashed everybody. Even better when he got arrested!
I'm legit more hyped about these videos than the actual show now
I think the problem with the Flash is that if you watched it without sound it would make perfect sense.

Maybe Chillbaine is so bad he's good

Who is ready for a final skybeam finale ?
You mean "this time there's 7 colours of lightning in the sky instead of 4 and the entire Flash team are Speedsters instead of just Barry, Iris, Nora, Bart, Speedforce Nora, Jay Garrick and Kid Flash fighting Reverse Flash, Godspeed, Savitar, Zoom, Rival, etc, etc"
Okay so I was joking, I had no fucking idea that they did indeed add more colours of lightning in the finale lmao
It wasn’t a crossover. It was a 5 episode event with guest stars. 😅
These videos are what I look forward to with every Flash season
WHEN WE NEEDED HIM MOST HE RETURNED
I really want him to turn into the lightning bolt that strikes him in the pilot. Maybe they could end with the article “flash vanishes in crisis” and we realize that he was always destined to disappear regardless of the Crisis on Infinite earths
That would mean expecting actually good writing from this show, which is impossible.
The Flash season 1 was one of the things that first got me into comics. It really sucks seeing the state of things now
Oh my goodness, I (and the writers) forgot Joe and Cecille had a baby. That baby is the reason she even has powers and it just disappeared entirely

I like how CW didn't learn anything and puts 20 episode in flash. Like 3 episode short can change anything. Also the budget is getting lower so why not cut episode to save money?
Flash fans: please I’m begging you make something with good writing!
Cw: here take these yellow boots 👢 remember them from the comics
Barry isn't really the avatar on the speed force. That would be Nora. The woman that looks like Barry's mom.
Barry is just connected to the speed force.
Why is the Armageddon Crossover just episodes of the Flash? Normally these crossovers are split between different shows.
Also, I like CW suits. With a lot of these it feels like they're not afraid to embrace the goofier looking comic suits, unlike MCU, which downplays a lot of sillier bits of the designs. Like they almost never have Thor wear his helmet.
I'm guessing because of COVID Protocols/Restrictions.
Covid and literally every other show on the Network getting cancelled that year.
All those shows got canceled
Wuhan Virus. And the non-cancelled shows are filmed elsewhere

13:05 to be fair, they did the chess thing with Thawne too, in s1. Though at least in that case, it was moreso an addition to reaffirm established genius intelligence, not a shorthand like it’s used for Despero
It was an Easter egg reference to his first comic book appearance
0:28 something about this angle made it look like there was a little man walking across the screen and Ross was going to eat him lol
i think a show about a consistent fight between two people can be so awesome. jojo is an excellent example of this, and kingpin and daredevil are fantastic rivals. hell the arkham games are mostly just how the joker and batman relate to each other and it’s great.
but no this is the flash we can’t have nice things
21:46 seeing footage of season 1 against this season is shocking, what happened?! It’s insane the decline this show has had visually alone.
5:58 NEVER in my life have I seen someone correct purple to pink. Well done.
These are fond memories I will take with me long after the show's done.
damn man, i guess we share similar opinions
Superman and Lois isnt arrowverse
Watching Legends of Tomorrow only works if you are drunk and aren't expecting any basic level of quality.
I actually watched all Legends Of Tomorrow with my mom and we both thought it was a good show, at least at first, but then it got really weird
Wasn't the Royal Flush gang also in Season 1 of Arrow? The Episode's a decade old so that's fine, but it's still a little odd to me.
ok um when you were showing the scene with the atom saving the flash did the atom make the flash smaller? Also 2nd question if he did when was he able to start doing that?! Also I'm surprised that they didn't use Iris's power to somehow bring back Leonard Snart for an episode (since they like using old characters this season and he died in an explosion destroying a device that controlled time). I know the oclus and iris's power are two completely different things, but this is the flash writers were talking about soooo.....
I love flash. It is one of my favorites. But your reasoning is pretty 👏👏👏
