This is not your first time watching this.
That's the understatement of the day lol
I’m honestly shocked I’ve watched it 1m times
always good to know I can return to NIN when everything inside me is falling apart.
BaronessStrange THEY - WONT - LET - YOUUUU- FAAAAAALL APAAAART!
all recharged... thanks Trent!
Break through the surface and breathe
RIP everything inside you.... time to be born anew , with this song
All I've undergone I will keep on
jesus christ this performance was intense
joopjunior I was there, it was fucking amazing.
+joopjunior like it should be
EVERY NIN performance is intense
joopjunior agree
@@DawkinsTools u lucky sob lol
1:28 that pause is so fucking intense
That got really heavy really quickly. This is probably my favourite live performance of theirs. It was fucking intense
The studio version also gets real heavy really quickly, but this is even more intense
Chris Dykun agree
This one has that early Rammstein feel to it it's so heavy
Such a great show starter. Saw this one at Boston calling this past summer in May, my first time seeing NIN live. Will never forget it
Wow. And people say NIN can't be as intense as they were from '88 to '96.
ekaminar is seems they can, but they won’t in their new music unfortunately
This song Trent Reworked is way harder than initially. Way less Electronic and Drummer Friendly
@@justinconlan1155 yeah hearing it, he seemed to up the metal on alot more of the songs/
Nobody says that LOL
What idiot said that
One of the best Nine Inch Nails performances ever
Made even better by Trent's aggression and screams he's able to reinfuse into something that was released about a decade ago.
But it wasn’t better than seeing them with janes addiction
What an incredible song. it’s like reznor caresses your face with sandpaper. It’s incredible.
3:17 WOW I love how the whole crowd starts jumping with Trent. This is an awesome performance
Bring my girlfriend to a NIN show last year, front row. She was a little bit afraid of the crowd. i told her "y'know, NIN is now in a more quiet felling, slow songs, more electronic, don't worry"....then...this song started ! This is the last time i saw her :-).
F
😂 good job for the murder
Well its good that she left!
KimTuckerFr that’s fucking funny mate, and tbh her leaving after being presented one of the best bands ever was a blessing 🤟
where the fck was she?
This is THE definitive set opener. The energy it gives off is just incredible.
Trent Reznor is a God. He just is.
Reincarnation of Mozart himself! 🙌
Truly one of those cases where the art (collectively seen) speaks so much for itself, and in such terms, that its indescribable almost, with anything but notions of uncanny genius, *godliness*, or the art itself.
Its a rare kind of genius to behold!
It’s like… if Prince was goth..
@@GlennJimenez More correct than you realize
@@MaximusCLAVUSYup, I keep saying for years that Mozart would do the same kind of awesome shizz if he lived in our present day. 🤘
Something about the heaviness of Trent Reznor and Robin Finck in this performance gives me goosebumps every time I watch this video. Correction, everyone that's performing this song has such raw intensity it makes me even more excited to see them this year.
Yeah. This 2009 live incarnation was the most intense.
2008 touring troupe; most dynamic.
1:27 gives me goosebumps. Holy shit.
3:17 when he starts jumping and the crowd jumps with him
1:27 looks and feels like he is commanding an army. Fucking amazing.
He is. An army of pigs. And when he says March, we March.
A N G E R
What a voice!! What a body-language ....
Just like magic I start drinking and always end up trawling through NIN vids.......... I honestly can't help it, so many years on and still NIN and liquor go together like peas and carrots. Damn you Trent and your immortal genius....
tskeates Yeah totally agree with you man
Fernando Aristides Por supuesto, mi amigo! Granizo NIN poderoso!
Gevaudan cheers!!🍻🍻🤘🏽
Same
Honestly the best combo is mdma and nin. Literally nothing can beat that
Best live version of Somewhat Damaged.
How could I ever think it's funny how everything you swore would never change... is different now
Like you said, "You and me, we'll make it through"
Didn't quite. Fell apart
Where the fuck were you?!?
and nobody mention amazing Robin Finck, wow
Agreed. Hard standing next to Trent though.
I love Robin!
God robin kicks ass
hard to believe he's a berkeley graduate, rocking so hard. At least in light of the stereotype.
Best guitarist out of all the members hands down
A year later. I'm back. New years eve night. Going into God knows what 2023. And this NIN track is on point. Still giving me chills. And who's not freaking somewhat damaged and has made it this far. Soundtrack to my life Trent. Thanks
Here on the first day of 2024. Perfect way to close out/open a year
It is rare that I think a studio version is better than a live version, but this is one of those songs I can tell the place he was at at the time make the album version so much more powerful than him doing it here. Here he is performing it, then he was living it.
i love how different the live version sounds to the studio, the beggining builds up really well.
3:41 When you have bad internet connection
grose zero don’t know about you but at that point I Noided out
Yuh!
Always watch with my morning coffee!
Introdused to NIN by a neibourghood friend when i was 14 with the DS in 1996 and directly linked up. I did not speak a lot of english at this time (french) but the noise and the energy fed something in me, I never know other NIN fans around me but I always listen. Now i'm almost 40 wife and a kid and NIN is in the Hall of Fame...
Is it weird that I feel so much better after this? haha. Love It!
i’m so fucking excited to see NIN at red rocks in september. this song in particular has gotten me through a tremendous amount. i can’t wait to let out so much pent up anger and frustration. this was a sick performance. trent could punch me in the fucking face and i’d thank him.
This is extremely powerful still in the year 2020, yes!!! Can't wait to see NIN again 😫😆😃
This song is in a 9/8 time signature. Just sayin...
Okay?
+Amer ica I think I've seen you on another NIN video
+Sam Smith really? Ok cool.
@@enricogoffi7029 It's all in 9/4 all throughout the song, there's no time signature change.
I've been wondering this for a while
This idea to have the cameraman on stage is genius. This is the closest thing I've felt to actually being there. This beats the shit out of a wide-angle shot of the entire stage, zooming in on particular band members. This gives it intensity.
Somewhat damaged is def my fave live song of NIN
Gotta love Rubin's drumming
God so much fucking raw energy i love it
I've seen NIN a number of times live in concert and had the pleasure of meeting Trent in Toronto during one of his stops. I'd have to say that if there was one thing that stands out not just in his music, but also as a person is that he's genuine. His live performances sound like the NIN cds (In a good way; not lip syncing or using computers to change his voice like pop stars) and after talking to him you realize just how down to earth he is. A good man and an amazing musician!
Ilan Rubin - fucking nuts on the kit; that energy!!! What a sound.
so sick. never get sick of this video. Everything Rob shoots turns into gold
I was obsessed with studio intro to this song. Then I see/hear this and am blown away.
Best live version of this. I actually prefer the normal song though because the normal one sounds angrier.
Make a genious record, perform it live even better.
So impressed with all you do
Tried so hard to be like you
Flew too high and burnt the wing
Lost my faith in everything
Lick around divine debris
Taste the wealth of hate in me
Shedding skin, succumb defeat
This machine is obsolete
Made the choice to go away
Drink the fountain of decay
Tear a hole exquisite red
Fuck the rest and stab it dead
Broken, bruised, forgotten sore
Too fucked up to care anymore
Poisoned to my rotten core
Too fucked up to care anymore
Broken, bruised, forgotten sore
Too fucked up to care anymore
Poisoned to my rotten core
Too fucked up to care anymore
In the back off the side far away
Is a place where I hide, where I stay
Tried to say, tried to ask I needed to
All alone by myself, where were you?
How could I ever think it's funny how?
Everything that swore it wouldn't change, is different now
Just like you would always say, "We'll make it through"
Then my head fell apart and where were you?
How could I ever think it's funny how?
Everything you swore would never change, is different now
Like you said, "You and me make it through"
Didn't quite fell apart, where the fuck were you?
I saw nin once. It was a mid tour show. I swear it was as if it was the last show they were ever going to play. They gave it that much.
Most deep lyrics every to come out of a persons mouth.
It moves me every single time, but yet in a different way than beautiful lyrics do. It's hard to describe but only Trent can do it to me.
The most underrated of all the many underrated Nine Inch Nails songs. Maybe the best NIN song period.
that gig was best ever performance of somewhat damaged. i wish i could be there..
Im lovin the "heys!" 😂😂😂
I've seen NIN live maybe 4 or 5 times. They are easily one of my top favorite bands. Tool may inch them out a little bit, but there is no doubt in my mind that Trent and company put on the best live shows I've ever seen. And this performance right here easily ranks among his best live performances. Right up there with the Fragile MTV music awards performance. This guy just has crazy energy!!
I agree man if The Walking Dead brought you here. Awesome. Big NiN fan always and forever.
this was in the walking dead? i'm caught up with the show but i don't remember that at all.

I seriously...Cannot quit watching this. What an amazing man!
I love these onstage videos, really lets you get a better glimpse at Ilan. Insane drummer, wish I had his talent.
Man all these new videos are fantastic. This is great. NIN is the best group I ever saw live and likely to ever see.
I love this song, so much. Its so intense, and its probably my favorite NIN song.
Excellent! It's a real pleasure to watch ;] Thank YOU!
THE best concert of all times, just sooo amazing preformance and energy.
NIN, I hope you visit Denmark again.
awesome video, great shooting
This is Amazing!
this is one of my mom's favorite NIN songs. she loves NIN, she even went to 12 shows the in 08-09 and she is in her sixties. she was even in the front row in the pit a couple of times. me and my sister and my mom all went to the shows together.
....poisoned to my rotten core.....
too fucked up to care anymoooooore
@@dib_dib !!!!
Amazing!
this evening and that show was the best time of my life - so far!
Amazing version, just simply love it!
Fav song. After watching the live performances I went back n listened to it, first track on fragile. Genius song, awesome arranging
Second favorite song off The Fragile, next to Just Like You Imagined.
finally a video that captures the energy at a NIN show
Aside from how good this song is, the video quality is fucking amazing
This is my life theme song and he rocked it solid here. Man this is 10 years ago.. fck.
Being there was the most amazing experience of my whole life, the crowd was AMAZING and so were NIN, it was just so intense!
Agreed. This has to be one of the most powerful, inspiring songs I've ever heard.
NIN and Trent is just simply the best ever from listening to them since ‘89 to now the emotion soul and tunes. Thank you Trent. Nothing better ❤
My favorite NIN song! Never thought I'd get a live version.
this is great, in the best sense of the word.
Still watching 👍😘🇸🇪
Lovely Music. Thank you for everything. Seriously. I do not want to leave without you.
Pure fire! Stellar performance
This is an amazing live interpretation of this.
My grandma died today at 4 am. I was sleeping , I woke up , and this song was playing at a low volume on my ipod and I could hear the landline ringing so I get up of bed and found out about the sad news. now this song will hit differently.
Dude I have watched this video so many times, never loses its effectiveness
The more of the live videos I watch (mostly put on by ninofficial), the more I see Trent evolve. Live performances have been tweeked and give such a different emotional energy. I very much enjoy listining to the changed music as I exercise! Such clean quality sound too!
This is one of the videos I always come back for inspiration
Best song.
What a version!
im so glad i got to one concert of every tour.
Saw them live in Portugal last July and this was the opener... Gives me creeps each time I feel this energy coming!! Already waiting for Trent's new project whatever it'll be!
Incredible!!!!
Wow. That's really good.
New arrangement sounds awesome!
That was incredible.
Awesomeness!!!
That looks like an amazing concert.
goosebumps every time.........
So good
Every monday before i go to work, i watch this video. It's better than any coffee for energy....
NiN is the only band where the LIVE performance is always better than the album. Maybe that's due to the mechanical nature of performances in studio vs live.
Also, NiN albums, are all good - my only gripe is the new Hesitation marks. It's good, but different. I grew up with Pretty Hate Machine in high school and have been listening to them since then.
NIN live is incredible, but another band that is better live than on the album is Shinedown. FANTASTIC performance
finally, i think in the same way
I wouldn't say always better, but it's definitely always different.
I like that about Trent. He remixes his music to suit the live performances.
I really like Hesitation Marks. It's more electronic/pop, less dark, but still very enjoyable.
The Fragile will always be my favorite, though.
Maryqueen Maandig = Yoko Ono, still good music from a good frontman with a little of her wife.
Nicholas Golden Green Day
These songs were so Relevant to our Lives ❤️💙 back then , we were Living these Songs😎
Goose bumps.
I love this live. It's the best performance of Somewhat Damaged I've seen. Fuck yeah. I love Nine Inch Nails
Happy Birthday Trent! Keep on keepin on!
Woo NIN was one of my favorite bands growing up in the late 90's and early 2000's and I've never been to a live show.
the energy is incredible, woah
