- ⚡ On January 9th, 2021 Trent Reznor, Mariqueen Maandig Reznor, and Atticus Ross helped celebrate David Bowie’s life and legacy by performing a rendition of "Fashion" for A Bowie Celebration: Just For One Day!
Even with COVID restrictions leaving us with a limited crew, the show went on and received great reviews and reception. We worked with the NIN creative camp after the concert livestream cutting together this performance to include the Bowie alumni band members who played with Trent, Mariqueen and Atticus - this is the performance we wanted everyone to see during the livestream and are thrilled you get the chance to now do so.

What’s unsettling is that had Courtney not apologized yesterday and said it was not true - there would be 1000 women by tomorrow making Accusations on Twitter about trent reznor .Trents lawyers probably threatened to sue Courtney for defamation of character if she didn’t delete her statements and admit she messed up. False accusations saying she witnessed the kids and knew what was going on. That’s an accomplice not a witness, by doing nothing and saying quiet would mean she allowed it to keep happening. But people would stick up for her and claim she was afraid of Trent, and was manipulated so she is a victim. Nah, sorry there is no excuse for saying nothing until Twitter in 2021.

@@britneydeville That's an interesting perspective, I don't know if you can conclude that shed be an accomplice because you would have to assume she hadn't said anything already. And it went nowhere. Whos to say there's not a pending or active investigation? Manson seems to paint a deviant picture of Reznor and they did have a pretty close relationship when Reznor signed Manson to his label. It's also inconsistent with Grohl being part of the picture why would she withdraw and say it wasn't true blanket stated? Shes accusing Grohl and suing him for manipulating her to sign off Nirvana music rights which she had done. It's not like Dave Grohl wasn't getting a huge chunk of that revenue anyway he was a third of Nirvana and considering his post Nirvana success he's probably half the creative element. Honestly I think she had planned on withdrawing and apologizing before she even said anything. It plants the seed and it gets the media off her back. I seriously doubt media and law enforcement are going to walk away from Dave Grohl and Trent Reznor without answers. I don't see any sources claiming that Courtney Love stated her accusations weren't true. But it could clearly be a case of saving her ass a bunch of money in a court case. However when there's accusations of crimes a lawsuit for defamation or slander is always dismissed pending the outcome of a criminal investigation and whatever criminal charges result from it have concluded. If there's any truth at all to what was said there's no slander and there's no defamation of character liability.

Bowie meant so much to Reznor, not just musically but personally.
Bowie helped him realise how to keep his artistic integrity, evolution and exploration, while controlling his personal demons, drug habit and being self reflective, during a time that Trent was going a period of personal self destruction. It’s something Reznor has been quite vocal about. Bowie was A inspiration, a mentor and almost father figure to him, as he was to so many artists.

Bowie covers usually get on my nerves because they either try too hard to do Bowie & fail miserably or they try too hard to do their own thing, and fail miserably. This is amazing. It's almost spot on the original but very much Reznor/NIN. Love it about as much as Bowie's.
Yeah I think a big part of it is the song choice, a lot of the style & composition of the original gels well with many things Trent already does.
Bowie walked so many musical styles though you wonder that other covering artists don't do this. i.e. What Bowie song is a good fit for me? rather than - what Bowie song do I want to either wrangle or badly imitate?

I'm absolutely honored and grateful I saw the NIN/Bowie tour. Seeing 2 of the most important musicians in my life sharing the stage was something special. The Beatles changed my world, Bowie re-invented my world and Trent has slayed my world in all the right ways.
