No matter what life does to us, we must keep on. I agree, The Fragile is my favorite NIN album.
These words are even more true and needed than ever.
"Underneath it all... we feel so small... the heavens fall... but still we crawl..." Man, does it ever feel like that for Mankind nowadays.
It's ridiculous how this song has gotten me through so much. Helped with depression and gave me the focus to do the work to get to college. Personal win for me

This song demonstrates the entire complexity that is TR and NIN. Might be my favorite track
This version is much more sonically enjoyable though. With the keys in the beginning and live drums, it really takes on a life of its own

Indeed one of the many great moments on The Fragile. The part after the climax is also very good, with the piano and stuff. The atmosphere of this song is so strange. This song has the greatest intro and the greatest outro I ever heard in my life.
NIN is very diverse. How many other bands play soft songs like La Mer or The Frail back to back with face melting metal? NIN has a very wide spectrum for a single band.
They also innovate with the distribution of their content. Besides Radiohead and a handful of other bands who else is giving out all of their music for free?
Instead of relasing a DVD they gave out 400 GB of professional quality video for fans to download via torrents. I'd call that innovative.

I can get lost in way out is through more than even most NIN songs, just close my eyes and feel the raindrops
I can get lost in The Fragile all the way through, i still feel like a teenager back in the year 2000 whenever I listen to this record.
Perfect - because NIN is a professional organization, he conducts the creation of his art professionally, his business professionally, hires other professionals serious about their art too, everything is professional. A lot of 'artists' cannot keep up this quality and dynamism for this long. Trent Reznor is a rare exception, and his conviction backs up everything he does. We are very fortunate in our generation to have an artist like Trent who gives so much of himself in his craft.

holy shit i cant believe they took a vid of this song,im front row at this show right infront of robin....i was only 15 at the time and this show is by far the most memorable show ive ever been to and there really is no band or show that can compare to the energy and emotion that trent and the band put inot a show...its been a year and a half since the show and im still in awe of this amazing front row experience..ill never forget this day,and i ge to relive it by watching this amazing vid

I know it sounds cliché, but NIN and especially 'The Fragile' saved me when i was down. And gave that drive to keep going. 'The way out is through' is that mantra and it saved many, i'm sure.

@Aesophere YES! God yes. Nine inch nails and atmosphere are the two greatest groups possibly to ever produce music. Shit changed my life. The Fragile and Lucy Ford are my two absolute favorite albums.

@xsanchezz I partially agree, seen both NIN and U2 in Poland before, and despite a obvious difference in the sound of NIN and U2, both of the shows were incredible and the crowd had a great part on maintaining the awesome atmosphere of the gigs.

the original version of this song literally broke my heart when i heard it the first time.
I don't know why but I just picture a meteor coming through the space and the sky as this song builds to its crash. As with everything Trent does, I love it!
