His most underrated song by a million light years
Nah that is definitely The Becoming. That’s easily his best song.
So much better live.
Thanks 👍😘🇸🇪
I covered this with my band in college, loved singing this. Its absolutely an outstanding track, with a great denouement.
Especially live, it's so much better live. As is Wish and several others. They just bring such a good vibe to them.
I can't believe he finally sang this live, I envy every member of the audience.
I saw him on the 2007 tour and he played it 2nd after 'beginning of the end'! Wasn't expecting it thats for sure!!
Heheh I will never forget it, that's for sure.
First time they played this live was in Lisbon (10/02/2007). I was there and it was my first concert.
i feel the same for years, that performance is fire
SAME!
I sang this at a karaoke once.
Wasn't able to sing anything for the rest of the session.
Damn hard song to sing.
That's so awesome!!
HOW THE FUCK IS THE AUDIENCE SO CALM??? If Trent was so close to me I'd probably have a seizure
+dolan dak much dissapoint
+dolan dak yeah dude. i get that some of their earlier fans might be in their 40s or 50s, but take your fucking arthritis medication and MOVE
This venue has seats. You can't mosh.
kskill. well you can't mosh anyway in a NIN concert. or you can but it'd look a bit retarded
+kskill. Fuckin' great stage band!!!!
My favorite track off broken, they never play this live!!!
he can't reach the notes anymore… even struggling here in a lower key.
shame really as it's a great song.
You right it was not the best vocal performance. But his voice sounds a lot better in more recent performances I have see. Maybe that is one of the reasons he took the 5 year break??? Can't wait to see them in Dallas this Aug!!!
hmm, could have a point there. took some time out to let his voice recover maybe.
i just remember reading somewhere that the reason they don't often play this song live, is down to his voice having gotten deeper with age.
you're lucky, they hardly ever come to the UK… and when they do, they sell out in seconds.
Heard it in 08 in Chicago. Wave goodbye tour. I was front row and pretty smashed. Best concert of my life!
WHR17 If you look really closely you will see that they are playing it live here! They often play Last live.
0:48 oh that guitar solo, it´s soo freaking good
Lol I thought u talk about Trent's thicc features, my bad
It made me grab my guitar and play it immediately!! It sounds sooooo sexy!!!!
A tribute to Queen's 'Fight from the Inside'
@@johncameron7247holy shit.... I never fucking noticed I love both of these songs.
That badass stroll to the mic at 0:14! Trent you hardass!
PJ S not to mention the one at 3:56 so confident, so hot :o
Was at this show. We about died when he played this song!
Oh my god. I’m so jealous.
haha, i don't think some of the commenters realize just how difficult this song is to sing! might be one of the hardest in the entire NIN catologue!
I don't see why the vocals for "Last" are any more difficult than others in the catalog. It's a simple set of challenge /response set of lyrics and the vocals should reflect that. Face it, Trent is getting old and instead of singing vocals he is bellowing into the mic. It had to happen sometime, fuck, his face is redder than . . . something red.
as a pretty great vocalist in her physical prime, this song is fucking INTENSELY difficult to get through. The whole time attempting it I just found the repeating thought "how the fuck would he do this live". those close to five minutes are some of the hardest to produce in a consistent level.
Shut up you are not worthy of NIN
What makes them difficult in your opinion?
@@Junkwave_ They're more difficult if you're trying to match the studio version. He's screaming almost the entire song at a rather high octave and the notes stay pretty high for most of the verses. The verses also start at rather high notes and there's nothing really to ease you up to those notes, so you just gotta belt it way up there. It's definitely difficult, but Trent is doing a lot to make it easier by not trying to match the studio version here, which is also why it's in a lower key when he plays it live.
I cannot believe this was not played live until 2007. This is my wake up song lmao
I like how the background literally goes from day to night during this song
Wish they played this one live more often! Such an underrated song.
That part between the end of first chorus and the start of the second verse is one of my favourite guitar parts ever.
One of Trent's best songs! That hard riff guitar progression is amazing!
Love this single camera, one shot vid. Inspires aspiring filmographers such as myself. A lot can be done with one person, one camera, one angle.
This song kicks ass so much it's not even funny!
No words! Pure energy. NIN at its best! Love it!
one of my favorites from Trent! will always be thankful for his music, as it provides an alternative to stereotypical reactions to all the bullshit that exists in this world.
His most underrated song without question
This song is great
One caveat, Robin Finck makes this song truly awesome, both historically because he was the guitarist from Woodstock '94 and he is a beast, one of my top 3 fav guitarists. Robin is the shit and the sound that makes this song great, trust me, his Marshall JCM800 is the one mic'ed and not the bloke with the white Gibson. Robin IS the music of NIN people.
Jarame Torbjorn right. I was fapping the whole time
I agree with ya except still missing one major piece... Danny
@@smahring I miss Danny so much. He was so energetic on stage.
@@shawheenblount2685I saw him at the reunion show.. dream come true and was one of the most memorable 30 minutes of my entire life!
NIN was my all time fav when I was in my 20's. I thought Trent had moved on to other things, till I saw his interview on Dig. Freakin awesome to come back to my roots and find new shoots on old branches. Shows how far I strayed. Rock on!
Those synth tones have to be some of the phattest in history. Keeps a brilliantly arrpeggiated groove underneath the balls simple drums and metallic guitars. Almost twenty years old this song, STILL heavy. wtf.
God, I Miss n Love NIN ..the Original NIN ..Never thought those days would End, if we could just do it again ..Great 🌹 Prime years of Our Lives .Love to NIN
Still to date the best NIN video out there. So much raw power right there!
lol, trent's face color is equal to his pants
he always gives 110%
Equal to the album cover
That is hilarious and true
Yes!! My favorite NIN song
I can't quit watching this
Awesome song from back in the day!!! Can't even fathom how many times I listened to this EP back in the day.
This performance is sheer aggression and katharsis in action. Reznor’s entire dedication of his energy to the performance, which he always brings, is here so well supported by the energy of the crowd and the rest of the band. Anytime I’m feeling confused and angry, I put this on, and by the end my heart feels understood.
Goddamn yes! So much energy and intensity on the stage.
You can't control yourself when the music runs through you. Even just tapping your feet to it shows that it's moving through you.
That fuckin guitar solo after the first verse. Fuckin epic!!!
this song is so badass.
Tuned down with years but still awesome.
I just saw them in on 22 March in Christchurch, New Zealand.
It was so good to yell along with Trent, very cathartic.
They didn't play this live so I came for my fix.
Saw it in az 2009. Blessed.
Robin and Afro Man's Co-Vocals kick ass, in every NIN song, but man, the Co-Vocals on this are metal as FUCK
TimmyPool afro man hahahahaha
Old West Demons I can't ever remember his name xD
TimmyPool me neither lol
+TimmyPool Justin Meldal-Johnsen Apparently also he did some production work on The Black Queen's album too. I'm sure he's done lots of stuff but that's what matters to me.

This song sounds awesome on live!!!
One of the best NIN songs EVER.
absolutely brilliant
Absolutely Amazing Performance 👊🏻👊🏻
This is why I love Nine Inch Nails so much! ❤️
I can't wait to see them live this year!
The Song is mega !!!!!!!
Nine inch Nails you are the best Band for me.
by far my most fav nin track
Aside from everything mentioned, the camera work is exceptional.
Awesome footage, awesome performance. One of my favorite old-school NIN songs. Rock on Trent.
Sounds frickin great live
absolutely epic.
My fucking god this is one of the best videos I've ever seen..............
This is totaly EPIC!
That drummer tho ❤️
you can tell Fink loves to rock these older tracks
I play this video once a week. Thanks NIN
So damn good. Had the pleasure to see these guys in Hawaii in the 90s. Still remember the lights behind robin and his hair flying around. That night was crazy. When I was walking around in the crowd a young and skinny Doctor Dre walked by me. Anyone else remember this concert in Hawaii. Same weekend we got to go back stage at a Depeche Mode concert and meet Chris Vrenna and Robin. I was a huge fan of Chris and noticed him out of the whole bunch. He must have been the most normal looking person out of the whole bunch. It wasn’t until I started talking to Chris that I noticed robin and his crazy dreads. Haha good times.
This is great!!!!
This song bites so very hard x_ x
NIN is such a tuned fucking insane machine live. The idea of filming from the stage is great. I don't think there's another band on this planet that has live videos such as the ones that Rob Sheridan has filmed
I LOVE this perfomance of Last! Trents Live music is always different from his studio work and I love him for it!
You 're daily doze of 1,000MG of NIN has been prescribed by musician Trent Reznor. You will begin your dose with five minutes of head banging therapy and sonic communication vibrations.
And dressing up a rotten carass to make it look alive.
the best live band ever!!!!
I saw them at Roskilde Festival in 2009. When Trent briefly began jumping to the rhythm of Somewhat Damaged, the entire crowd jumped around with him. It was awesome. And of course, that performance made it onto TH-cam...
this is amazing, I was there
I was there!!!! So awesome.
If I had listened to his music on an album before seeing them live on TH-cam, I probably wouldn't be watching today. His music on the album is far different than live shows. I love their live shows.
i may have to diagree with you there my friend, some of those albums are just epic sickness..!
Rob M He not saying the albums are bad but that he got into it by watching the live versions.
Yeah the broken ep was awesome. Trent doesnt carry the same agression he had back then. But he still does have the intensity!
This is giving me a sign to move to NJ
masterpiece
Awesome of them to post top quality live stuff like that. Fucking badass!
This sounds mega!!!
Whoa, I like this one too.
So Effin Bad Ass...Everytime I see them....better and better and better and better....
wow, this is the first time I can see a video where you can switch from 720p to 1080p on youtube, pretty cool.
That was fantastic. Great that we've got an official version now :)
Rob is an amazing videographer artist, go follow him on the socials
Ilan Rubin is a freaking beast.
I was there. I went to the Camden the show the night before, which I had pit tickets for, and this show I had seats in the back. I got by two of the guards with my ticket for the night before to get to the pit, and i was acting like I was looking for my seat in the 'pit' of this show, and the guard told me to go back to my seat when he inspected my ticket thoroughly and sw it was for the night before. LOL. Good times, GREAT show.
Add the twilight, so fucking magnificent....
This song sounds pretty awesome a step down.
How in the Hell could anyone just stand there during this song like the fucking dead and not feeeeel this!???? When this shit came out in the early 90's I would play it in my car and almost fall out the window freaking out over it's awesomeness.
Same thing happened when I saw them a few years ago and the second song was march of the pigs. As soon as the drums started people weren't moving of their own free will anymore and it was incredible.
FUCKING EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Awayze that was like in 2006 during the Beside You In Time tour. Usually the bass player is the dude on the right side of the stage wearing red (Justin Meldal-Johnsen), but for some songs he picks up a guitar instead.
I confess that multiple reasons indirectly influenced why I was drawn to access this live video of this fascinating live version of Last by Nine Inch Nails, I am previously familiar with this song because around the time I was 16 or 17 years old I first heard this song from the music collection by Nine Inch Nails that contained this edgy song, this live music video version of Last by Nine Inch Nails definitely does justice in an entertaining way to to the album version of Last in an exciting way.
@peoplethought : I don't think he's ruining the songs by shouting out “come on!” and “hey!” at certain points. He's just trying to interact with the audience. That's pretty much what he's trying to do. Audience interaction never hurts. Especially when you're performing in front of a crowd like that.
Ilan Rubin "war machine"!
hehe I have his broken drum stick he trew in the crowd ! x)
agreed, I saw these guys a month earlier before this show(Kansas city)
@GhostofSparta54
oh yeah you know it! Can not wait for the next release!!
You gotta look at the lawn section. We were going nuts
Look up the info for Boston Garden 12.3.94 show on ninwiki.com. Trent freaked out and walked off stage because everyone was in seats. The place went nuts and RIPPED the seats out of the ground. Trent came back out and rocked the place into the ground.
Trent still puts his fucking heart into these things, and it shows. Too bad the crowd doesn't know how to let go...
UFF 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Fucking Outrageous
OMFG !!!
WITH BEATS THIS HEAVY. WHO NEEDS TO MOSH?? AND THE SOUND IS A STAMPEDE CAUSED BY THE EARTHQUAKE SHAKING THE DEMONS FREE FROM NIN....nuff said?? AND WE NEVER GROW UP....THANKS TO THE MUSIC.....
Fuck Yeah-!!!
What a Great Performance-!!
Random but ever hear the remix to outro of this on the "Fixed" album? Like 3 minutes of slow instrumentals and then it just blasts into the outro of Last "i want you to make me!..." So Awesome.
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!!
Please release another NIN album so I can see you on tour!!
