This episode was very light on the crossover scale-really, just an excuse to use the DS9 set and throw in a Bashir cameo. I found myself wishing for more crossover interaction. The idea of Klingons, particularly Worf’s father, being on that distant planet was an interesting tease though.
Once you guys do DS9, Voyager, and maybe enterprise. You should review The Orville and then compare make comments about the writing compared to the other star treks.
You know, the Federation has no form of currency, having given up on the concept once they invented replicators. So Shrek expecting payment from Worf seems fairly optimistic. I guess Worf could just 3D print some money. I mean, replicators can make virtually anything, which would obviously include whatever grubby ha'pennies some bridge troll wants.
this is also the TNG episode that coincided with the DS9 episode MOVE ALONG HOME where Dr BASHIR vanished so he could do this crossover BUT if that were true wouldn't he have been trapped in the game CHULA ? maybe it's a different STARDATE so these 2 events aren't connected in universe
We Authors must balance out our stories. Though there are people loving action like Mission Impossible or something dull like the Family episode in this series. Plenty of room for all types of personalities.
D+ for me. Why would Doctor Bashir (in Sickbay, no less) be so interested and. Putting aise the needed security protocols (4 years after Contagion and The Enemy and any old systems can interact with one simple click 🤣) so succifiently knowledgeable in technology? (By DS 9 season 50, he's retconned as being a genetically engineered superhuman would answer this, but for years everyone thought "why not Miles for a crossover as he has the requisite skill and secrurity clearance for Engineering, where all that gear belonged? Or even R2D2? Wven R2D2 makes more sense." Nice callout to "V" too. 👍
Good review. This wasn't a favorite episode of mine. The plot, like other 2-part episodes, dragged on. Data's dream sequence didn't help any. C- for me. On character development: I never truly get the feeling that Warf is progressing beyond an insecure security officer. He always has that puzzled frown on his face...or perhaps that's the make-up. Data exploring dream sequences is just annoying. When exploring a dream in movies and life, it seems to always leave the dreamer and audience in a state of puzzlement. Never a pleasant feeling. The introduction of Deep Suck...I mean Space Nine, I tried not to downgrade this episode because of it. In fact, I think I moved it up a partial grade just to be sure I wasn't being biased.
1:55 when I saw it on TV I thought the actor was Odo. They both have similar voice and with so much makeup it's hard to tell.
No worries I thought the same thing. I thought it was apart of the crossover. 😅
3:20 Data does consume. He has a nutrient distribution net according to Measure of a Man.
Richard Herd was also Tom Paris’s Father on Star Trek Voyager
He also jumps to conclusions.
He was George's boss for a while in Seinfeld, too. Best role.
You guys missed the obvious joke that Geordi probably can't see the paintings anyway because he can only see energy or whatever.
I like
It seems really weird that they figured out how to give Geordi predator vision but never bothered to install a visible light setting
@@TunnelSnakesrule13 Let's just say Section 31 had plans for Geordi.
“I haven’t made it past S yet”
Man, these jokes all the time are just the best. Would subscribe if you guys ever asked me to.
Doesn't the pilot for DS9 happen at the same time as this episode?
That's why you don't see Cisco and Dax: they're currently busy being interrogated by the wormhole aliens. Odo's probably in a bucket.
Pretty sure this ep takes place a few weeks after the pilot
9:07 Brent Spiner reminds me of Joe Gatto from Impractical Jokers here.
1:04 Data investigates unauthorised activity in sickbay......why is this not security lol. This crew is so incompetent
That'll do Worf, that'll do.
You would know what goes on in this station if you watched DS9! Klingon dangling dude over railing is just Tuesday.
1:33 That'll do humanoid rat, that'll do. ♥
Perhaps minor spoiler, but Data's dreams are one of very, very few things in Star Trek that are referenced again.
Nice Mega Man reference. Also a Predator crossover of some kind with Worf would be awesome actually.
6:41 LOL
I think the dream sequences were very well crafted and arbitrary. Real Freudian stuff with symbolism.
These would work well as premiers.
Wow Data has hair where does that come from in a show that literally has replicators that can make teddy bears from air!
R Yall going do Deep Space nine Next ???

The very first Star Trek episode I ever saw.
The scores align.
Perhaps the civil war has ended.
I’m just waiting for “Starship Mine” and also “Timescape”, also I wonder what DS9’s Gate Address/Point of Origin would be…
U guys should do DS9 or Voyager episodes inna future. I'm addicted to ur TNG reviews
this must be the episode
where
COMMANDER WILL RIKER
gambles at QUARK'S BAR
and
is referenced by
TOM RIKER
in the DS9 episode
DEFIANT
I will watch the hell out of you guys reviewing ds9
Love you guys keep it up

esoteric: intended for or likely to be understood by only a small number of people with a specialized knowledge or interest.

I assume the alien wants gold pressed latinum.
7:06. Which is why trying to interpret art through the artists intention is absolutely dumb in the first place LMAO
this is also the

The second part is really good. The part 1 with Data dreaming was kinda boring to me.

I take the follicular replenishment to mean how fast the hair grew because hair grows in hair follicles.
5:51 if you want to know what happens on ds9 you would perhaps consider watching and reviewing ds9
Obviously, bashir would not ask about datas facultys. He is better at being a computer than Data is.
Have you started watching Deep Space Nine yet?
It is hard to rate this when real people feel differently about the episode. Series in general.
once done with TNG you should review DS9
ECLECTIC

@0:57 very antisemitic
