    I appreciate TASCAM for seeing this niche and deciding to go forward with it.
    Takes guts and you'll know that those who know they want it, to really like it. I hope this will sell well to support products like this.

    The best thing about this workflow is the return to monitoring through an analog console. Say is out loud: no latency!

    Thank you !! as a hobby studio/drummer guy we can now finally use the dm3200 / 4800 with the most updated daw software.
    its currently super messy to get the dm3200 to work flawless , and you have to keep IOS and other programs downgraded.

    Nice! Now imagine that Tascam realizes, that A&H ditched a console (GSR-24) that ticked all the boxes and potentially could save tons of money and hussle if they support and update it, keeping in production.
    Tascam, 24-ch inline console with preamp + PEQ + DAW insert and return options with motorized midi faders + 4 busses and 4 auxes + a variable fet/valve compressor before main/monitor out. Just copy that discontinued console grand schematics and implement it in Model24 and StudioBridge.
    Then you will meet 2012’s dream, and 2025 demand in one product. Can you make it for 3999€/USD incl. taxes, and support/produce it for at least 10 years. :) All home/project studio owners will be your customer. 🎉

    What kind of AD/DA converters are being used, when we used tape we knew what we were getting, these days the AD/DA is way below what we had and to remedy that we use lot of other high end converters, Burl, Lavry, CraneSong etc, how do these Tascam compare to these. We need more emphasis on this because it would be useless to do all that work and mix it down on average converters etc. Thank you.

    • @Polentaccio
      @Polentaccio หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great point.. I feel they missed a chance to allow us to use external converters and external hard drive. Also, you can only punch in with 10 enabled tracks at once. Alesis HD-24 allowed you to do all. It's a really cool product, but a few gaps. Now if you have no converters, then you are golden with this.

THen send the whole mix to two tracks on the tascam ? There's no mic/line switch on the soundcraft...

      You are correct. I've got a console and outboard.. with my Motu and Ferrofish converters. The only thing I can't do, is record to an SD card. But why would I want to anyway.. I'd sooner pickup an old HD-24. Better display, record to hard drive. The only person buying this is the person who picked up a used console and then realized they had no way of getting music in/out of it.

    • @dianevrules
      @dianevrules หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@VincentPresley Its a stand alone digital multi track recorder without a mixer. You can record 24 tracks at a time directly to the Studio Bridge. Its also a 24 track usb audio interface. Folks can warm up their existing digital recordings in their DAW by passing the tracks through their analog console for mix summing. They can also do the same for existing digital tracks recorded directly to the Studio Bridge. How hard is it for you to understand that???? Sounds clear af to me.

    I . . . Don’t really see what niche this fills that a bunch of other audio interfaces already fulfill.
    I mean, if your direct outs are pre EQ, or are part of your channel inserts(as many are) then you are bypassing most of the console in record mode.
    If you have a console why do you need a summing bus?
    IF there were some modicum of plug in control for use case routing modes, or some extra functionality that was digitally controlled maybe I could start to see some usefulness.
    I’m just totally confused.

      @@The_Catalyzt You can't really go DAWLESS. You can punch in/out and do some very minor edits which involve more menu steps than clicks on a DAW with a mouse. You also can only punch in max 10 tracks at a time. For drums, it is going to be an inconvenience if you've got a good sized set in the session. A smarter way to go DAWLESS, would be to create a product like the Behringer X touch which gives you a timeline, ability to set markers, punch in/out spots, and record right to hard disc.

    notice, this guy is all alone when mixing and looking at a wall instead of through a large studio glass out to the band ? yeh, unfortunately thats the way it is these days... nobody records together anymore and nobody comes to a studio to record. Rather, the band usually records on it's own, the tracks, exports them all to an external hard drive and sends them to a studio in order to have someone professionally mix down and master. @@xammai9679That's more like a 1974 budget. Studio time in 1994 was very high because the studios were still decked out with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of analog gear with staff and maintenance costs. Easily $800-1600 per day with no engineer for a top studio. Maybe $400-600 p/d for a lesser room. Then factor 2" and 1/2" tape .. and on and on. Not cheap.
