The Nikon is double the price. I've just been through this process buying a bridge camera and 2 other camera. Twice the price doesn't mean twice as good.
CANON POWERSHOT SX70 HS IS MINE SINCE DECEMBER 2018. CAPTURED ABOUT 22.000 ITEMS. PANORAMA IS EXCELLENT, EVEN WITH ZOOM.
SCN MODE SELFIE, PORTRAIT, NIGHTSHOT AND FIREWORKS ARE MORE THAN SPECS CAN TELL. ALL ARE NOISE FREE TILL ISO 800. NIGHTMODE UP TO 3200, LOOKS LIKE ISO 200. I HAVE TESTED.
Neat specs and presentation. Nikon too much bulk for me...probably go with the less bulky Canon at half price. Besides, I've been with Canon for years.
You need to consider what's _in_ that bulk. Remember - the Canon is 60 gms lighter than their Canon Powershot SX60HS - so _what have they taken out?_
608g is perfect for travel. 21mm good for Buildings. Most used SCN is Selfie Mode.
This is my Auto Mode for everything. F11 to
F22 is possible if full Backlight is a problem.
both are excellent, but I prefer the powershot sx 70 hs to be a lower cost
Both Bridgecameras are great in good light.

SX70 has no hotshoe.
But the built in Flash can used up to 1/2000 s in PASM MENUE.
Kind of nonsense... The different classes of these cameras, P1000 is higher class with Mega zoom, the price today is almost 3x greater then for sx70. But respect for comparison...
here we are two years later and nothing much has changed ......
I don't even have to watch the review - just looking at the picture of the Nikon tells me it has a wider aperture for low light photography.
there is no comparation 3000mm against 1365mm

Nikon's 4000sec fastest shutter speed, its f2.8, its 30sec slowest, its hotshoe versus no hotshoe on the Canon? It's a no-brainer.
Real rival is B700 of Nikon
Of course the zoom is really nice from the P1000 yes but it's to heavy 1000KG the Sx70 HS has 600G but just the half zoom
Digital zoom is the same image as optical zoom, only digital can go closer to the image but the same image from optical.
Raw CR2 and CR3 (CRaw) can be used.
2.0x Telemacro is excellent.
Moon shots are great. 25% better than my SX60.
I thought the SX70 does not have raw?

forgot the size. the nikon is 2 times bigger. and the 125 zoom is not optical. its zoom plus
Easy win for the p1000.
And so it should win. It 2 to 3 times the price. For me it doesn't offer twice the greatness....

I just bought an SX70 to backup my now discontinued Nikon B700 because the specs were almost identical.. well, it was a huge mistake. The Canon SX70 claims it has 4k recording but it is absolute garbage. My phone cam takes better video. Not joking. The SX70 is choppy when panning, jittery with stabilization on, the picture is not sharp and the oversaturated coloring looks fake. In short, the SX70 sucks when it comes to 4k recording. I'll be returning it tomorrow. I'd rather buy some used Nikons. They are vastly superior. I have taken my b700 on over 180 hikes. It's been dropped dozens of times. It even went into a lake. Still works. And to demonstrate what real 4k looks like check out any of the hikes on my channel.

@@dedyaimar5723 My personal experience had me returning the Canon and tracking down a Nikon. For my needs the Canon just wasnt working. My handheld shots pixelated like crazy. Like it couldnt hold the focus.. however it was much smoother with the panning. The Nikon holds a much tighter handheld still, but it cant pan very well. The image stabilization causes a stutter which is annoying. I would easily choose the Nikon.. obviously, however they have been discontinued for a while now and are hard to find. Im actually looking for something better myself.. im about done with the stutters on the Nikon
I think you haven't set the hs60 properly. It is a very nice zoom camera. If you set to c1 and c2 for still photos it'll be a perfect setting.
