The range test included a mix of various types of roads - city, city with traffic, highway, expressway, hills and even off the road detours. The A/C was running for 50% of the time. Inspired by this video, yesterday we (2 people) did a round trip to Mysore from Bangalore in our Comet EV. Here are the details.
*Bangalore to Mysore (Let's call it - Trip 01.)*
Distance covered: 149 km
Start time: 5 AM
Reached @ 8 15 AM
Break: 20 mins
Travel time: 2 hrs 55 mins
Battery usage: 58% (started at 99% and left with 41%).
Regen: Heavy/Eco mode
AC: completely off. (Since it was early in the morning.)
Average speed: 50-60 KM/hr
*After calculations, for 100% battery, we got the range of 256 KM from Trip 01*
_In Mysore, we recharged the car from 41% to 100% in 3.5 hours._
*Mysore to Bangalore (Let's call it - Trip 02.)*
Distance covered: 151 km
Start time: 3 40 PM
we reached home @ 6 PM.
Break: No break.
Travel time: 2 hr 20 mins
Battery usage: 81% (started at 100% and left with 19%).
Regen: Heavy/Sports mode
AC: Completely on (fan speed 3).
Average speed: 65-75 KM/hr.
*After calculations, for 100% battery, we got the range of 186 km from Trip 02*
*Overall, we traveled 300 km from a total battery usage of 139% (58% + 81%)*
*So, with all the calculations from both Trip 01 and Trip 02, we got 215 KM of range.*
*Our overall experience was very good. It was a very very comfortable journey.*

Inspired by this video, I attempted a range testing. My wife and I left early in the morning to minimise the use of AC. Did not switch on any ancillary services and clocked a speed between 50 to 55 kph with motor rpm between 3700 to 3800. We covered 222.3 km with 11% battery left and this small wonder of a car could have touched 250 km before calling it a day maintaining the driving parameters.
Have tested tiago ev MR range . Please advise on gjis

Great review…I think MG Comet is the only EV car that shows the claimed range on 100% battery charge …heard all EV cars show 30% less kms on 100 battery, from claimed range & gives 45% in real …May be Comet is lighter vehicle…still for 17 kWh 200km is great
I meant other EVs giving 55% of claimed range …320 claim 235 on full charge & 180 kms real ( with AC )

In winters this can easily give 250km range because there is no need for AC. A few days ago i was laughing at this car, but the more i understand it, the more i like it. I am thinking of buying it for my grandfather

I have decided to cancel my booking. Since my height is 6 feet and my body structure is broad, the steering wheel just touches my thighs every-time I drive and also the legs pain a lot because of bad posture between pedal and seat. Good car but probably not for me.
Good one Bunny ji. But comparatively I believe very less time was spent in actual market areas. Here's my suggestion, maybe for future practical range tests. Create a road plan which mimics an actual market visit as close as possible, since that's mostly what's gonna happen with us millenials. Say start from a place in Gurgaon, go to MG road, up and down to the B2 parking of some mall, then head towards Sadar bazar and cross through via it's heart, and then repeat this to see how many time it's possible. Second, it'll be great if you can report the time car is at highway speeds, time while it was in creeping traffic etc., along with screenshot of a google map plan followed. We would be able to crunch out much more from the videos then!

Sir, please do range test of tiago ev medium range. Very few real world range tests are available for tiago ev mr.

I'm still not convinced that it can deliver a range of 170-180 kms.
In my opinion, the maximum range that one can achieve from it, is 125-130 kms only, with 2 people on board, in a congested traffic, where the average speed in which the vehicles move is 20 kmph only.
I took the TD again today, and I could only get a milage of 100 kms, with 4 people on board.
Drive mode: Normal, Regen mode: Normal, AC: On, traffic condition: Medium to heavy.
However, I liked all the other aspects of the car, including the look, features, and the driving and ride comfort.

I own this car I have it as a owner I can say I am very impressed with its range
It averages about 175-180 km
With Normal Regen Mode
And AC on level 2-3 and SPEED between 40-60km/h also after covering this 175-180 still 5-10% battery is left … in soc also this all drive with 3 people sitting on car .. sometimes 1 and sometimes 3 .. …. And I have drove my comet about 3500kms so I can say this

Which is better option
Driving in highway will not give you that much range because the regeneration won't be using much, also
you should definitely take long way test drives of both tiago and comet and choose as per your preferences.
Comet is not not for highways. It's body roll, ground clearance, small tyres makes it a clear unfit for highway travel.

Nano failed because of base model sales at cheap option. Price not a factor..sell only high end model with white interiors..you will succeed because already 90% people reject it in comparison with Tiago ev.. Seagull ev..make a smart move from the beginning itself otherwise it will be like e2o of Mahindra..
